Oil Pulling - What are your results?

I have done the oil pulling a few times a week now, I use coconut oil. So far I see no difference in how my teeth look But maybe I have not given it enough time.

I did read on the main board all about it, was glad I read it all as we do have a septic system - we do not live in town, so now I spit it all out outside where it can do not harm

Thanks All!

Leona

I have not noticed my teeth whitening. But then, for a coffee-swilling, tea-sipping, smoker I have unexpected white teeth.

I do have a strong tendency to develop abscesses in my back gums...unless I OP every day or two. My gums are light-years healthier since I started OPing.

I've only done it about once a week since Nancy talked about it. However, yesterday I had my teeth cleaning/check up appointment at the Dentist. I did the CO pulling briefly about 30 minutes before my appointment. The Dentist was so impressed with my mouth! Especially my gums. She said they are extremely healthy and in great condition. She said, "Whatever you are doing, keep doing it! Your mouth looks great!"

I also found oil pulling to be great for my teeth. I don't do it every day, but since I've been doing it, my dentist checkups have been perfect. Very little cleaning needed, no cavities or other problems. My gums look good and my breath is good. I tend to do it twice a day before my dentist appts too(.

I use sesame oil for my oil pulling.

I have been oil ppulling. First with coconut oil... the las 2 weeks sesame oil. Had a dentist check up about a month ago. She said "u don't have a lot of plaque build up" I noted that it was mmy quickest dentist appt ever! Gums look and feel better. And I believe my teeth look whiter for sure and have had compliments.

On the discussion forum that introduced me to OP, many people rotated between a variety of oils. And felt they got different results from different oils. So, one oil whitened better and another oil removed plaque better. Like the different WOEs, some mouths responded better to one oil or another. Sesame and sunflower oil were cited as working very well frequently.

i wouldnt expect oil pulling to do anything to how your teeth look unless you started with bad, visible gum disease. i say that because i notice if i do the oil pulling at least 3 times a week the next time i have my teeth cleaned it is much easier. there are no spots of tough tarter. none at all.

Hi, I have never heard of this and tried to find it on the main board as you mentioned Leonak but can't find it. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you

I too have no idea what it is. Intriguing!

I had a quick Google scoot and whilst it sounds disgusting, swishing oil in your mouth for ages, I would be willing to give it a whirl!

Mmmmmmmmmmm!
