I'll bet you have wonderful cream there. So much of our dairy supply comes from Holsteins and so few have Jerseys here, and I think they give such nice cream.

I'm following your coconut oil experiment with interest. Do you have a quantity measure that you are going by? Like, you're trying to take in 1 tablespoon of CO daily, or anything particular? Or just adding a bit of it each day/most days, without counting its calories, and then seeing if there is any ongoing weight gain over the long term from this?..

It is fairly random as I simply break up the 'bark' and keep in a box in the fridge.

Some days I use it more than others... not really a serious test of its efficacy or or otherwise I fear. I am firmly not counting the calories at present.

You are right about the cream Pat, we are very fortunate. I have a home in Devon and when we are there we eat far too much glorious clotted cream.

One of the problems with cream here is that is nearly impossible (because selling raw dairy is illegal in most states!!!) to get it unpasteurized.

I had Devonshire cream at a tea house many years ago and ever since have desperately wanted to make some at home. But every recipe I've come across says that you need raw cream.

It's almost enough to make a girl go out and buy a cow!!!

PJ, there's an interesting, protracted legal battle going on here about selling raw milk. You can find oodles of stuff by Googling raw milk Toronto . Unless you have your cow already.

WOE: Primal as of Aug 2011/JUDDD (started 1/13/12)
Start Date: Aug 2011/I've been maintaining since April 2012
We are fortunate in that my MIL milks one of her cows and gives us milk every couple of days. Of course now that I know I'm allergic to dairy (and dh is as well), it's just the kids drinking it. But I love knowing where it comes from, what they've been fed, and that they've had no medications/hormones.

I've been laying of the CO, not really because of weight, I've just been too lazy to make the bark. I do still put a tbsp in my morning smoothie, but I have been counting it. For me, it's that it helps my numbers look better in that I actually get UP to my UD cals by counting it. LOL I don't always use it on dd's. And without the dairy products, I need it for my mct's.

I think you are still looking fine Kissa. You are still in your maintenance range, just at the top rather than at the low end like you are used to. Just read your signature an don't fret. You are still doing fine.

Are you still eating bark? Or did you just stop for that one day?
