DD went off course, now what?? Help!!

I need you wonderful JUDDD BUDDD experts here! My DD today was going along fine until dinner plans vastly changed this evening. I have no idea how many calories I had over the '361' I had planned to eat. My calories for today are not as much as an UD I'm sure, but, well over 361. What should I do tomorrow? Do I have two UDs in a row then resume the rotation? I've got a birthday thing tomorrow evening...I SO need tomorrow to still be an UD, at least more calories than a DD! What should I do??

I'm in my second week, and, have lost 6 pounds...so thrilled about that!! I'm disappointed my day didn't go exactly as planned, but, but life happens, and I need to know what to do ongoing when things get side-ways!

I appreciate any suggestions!

What Sheridan & Pooti said!!!

Or, if I'd had a REALLY big dinner today, I might fast most of the day tomorrow, or just eat enough to keep myself feeling good (150-200 calories--but that's just what I usually do; have more if you need them), eat freely at the birthday thing, and follow it with a good DD!

Yep--agreed with above. You'd be surprised how many calories you can have on a DD and still be in the weight loss zone for your numbers. Even if it was a MD (average of your up and down days), you can still do your UD tomorrow.

Maybe, as suggested above, fast, or eat lightly, until the dinner-- save the calories for when you know you'll need them.

Then a good DD the following day, and you're golden.

Nothing is irretreviably broken on JUDDD The only thing that is all-or-nothing is that there is no all-or-nothing on this WOE!

I held my breath as I weighed this morning...up 2 pounds. Probably water, but, 2 pounds to re-lose nonetheless!!

Sheridan: Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to hear!!

Pooticus: Thanks for the congrats and encouragement!!

PirateJenny: Thanks! That's what I was thinking...I'll have just enough to feel good, then enjoy some Mexican food and a little birthday cake tonight! Why does some food have to taste so good?

Sorenkkg: I was glad you defined what an MD is...I'd seen it in posts and wasn't sure about it. I'll definitely have a good DD tomorrow and get back on track. Thanks!

2lbs. is pocket change lol!

PhotoGirlTX I'm glad you posted this. I have a weird schedule coming up and I'm also new. I don't know if I can trust myself to do the right thing. But, 2 lbs. after a weigh in is normal for me. Up 2 down 1.....something. It keeps going down

This is such a great thing to be able to do is plan an UD or a MD.

I've thought I may add a few MD's or UD's every 2 weeks to keep my metabolism going. I'm just tying to figure out how many more calories is needed per week for a good reving. (is that a word?)

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed my UD yesterday including the amazing enchiladas and of course birthday cake and homemade ice cream. I didn't dare get on the scale this morning...I don't wanna know! Soooo...it's a DD today, back to reality!

Hollyitworks: Yeah, I know about the bouncing...drives me crazy - as long as the numbers keep going down though! I'm going to start weighing weekly, the scale has way too much power in affecting my moods sometimes!

GrannyPants: I'm glad you mentioned adding an MD or UD now and then, to shake up our metabolism. I'm all for that...it does actually work? I'd like to know more.

Kimberly: Thanks for the encouragement! It SO very much helps to see real, positive results here and that this WOE DOES work, and not just temporarily. The yo-yoing has to stop...I've tried 'em all and need a plan that is realistically doable long term...JUDDD seems to be THE ONE from what I see! I'm counting on it working for me as well!! I'm only in my second week, so, I just have to settle in and let it work. No apology necessary about jacking the thread, you DO look awesome! Way to go!!

Thanks for the link KelAly! Good explanation of how it works. I like what they said from the article: "Even though we eat many calories during these "cheating" episodes, our metabolism burns them off much faster than it would have done otherwise. This higher metabolism also helps us to maintain our weight loss and keep our muscle tissue intact, giving us a firmer and leaner look." That's good news!! Thanks again

I was on a plan called the Hilton Head Metabolism Diet back in the late 80's.
You followed the meal plan about 1000 calories/day 3 meals a day plus a snack, no added salt (of course I cheated that a bit). Light exercise 20 minutes twice a day (I walked or danced).

Two weeks on 1000/calorie a day.
One week you upped the calories daily.
Then repeat.

I lost about 80lbs in 7months weighed myself daily and lost every day..no stalls.

Of course on the up week you lost less but you still lost.

I hated that diet it was hell for me. But the up and down metabolism thing kept me losing.

I just can't remember how many calories more per week I upped it. It wasn't too many more per day, but X7 days it added up.

You know I just got rid of that book about 2 years ago, I never thought I would need to reference that book again.

Wow, 80 pounds in 7 months, you did great!! I'm surprised I hadn't heard of that diet back then, I thought I'd done them all! I searched for the book on Amazon and found this - I hope it's not a TOS violation to post a link : Amazon.com: The Hilton Head Metabolism Diet: The...Amazon.com: The Hilton Head Metabolism Diet: The... . You can get a 'Kindle' edition of it for just $6.99, I just ordered/downloaded it, I'm very curious to see how it works exactly! (If you don't have Kindle, you can download a free version)

I followed the link and that is the book.

I picked it up at a used book store for a few dollars. Don't believe the part about the 15lbs in 3 weeks stuff, but that did catch my eye.

Well, I do not want that book back again, but if you would be so kind when you ever get a chance (batting my eyes here) guess-timate the difference in calories in the weeks, I would sure appreciate it.

It is because of that diet I can't stomach fat free italian dressing!

Sure, I'd be happy to let you know about the difference in calories when I run across it...no eye-batting required. I'm gonna stick with JUDDD...ya just can't beat dieting half the time! I AM very curious about the concept though. I'll let you know what I find out!
