Way too much time on my hands!
|
Double checking this recipe for down days...
When I'm not counting calories, this is my favorite filling breakfast. I just plugged it in to the livestrong app and it came out to only 234 calories. If that is the case, I think it will be a good down day alternative to shakes.
I'm wondering if anyone would try crunching the numbers for me and double check the math! Overnight Oatmeal 1 tsp honey (20 calories) 1/4 cup apple sauce -no sugar (13 calories) 1/4 cup full fat greek yogurt (55 calories) 1/3 cup Old fashioned Oats- not quick oats (101 calories) 1/4 cup Almond milk-plain (22 calories) 1/2 tsp flax seeds (23 calories) cinnamon to taste I'll post it in the down day recipe thread if it passes the muster! |

You put all the ingredients in to 1 cup mason jars, stir it up and leave it overnight. It's delicious.

I don't eat breakfast on DDs, but may have to try this for an UD. Have you tried it with oat groats? I wonder if they need the heat to absorb well enough. Hmmm, you've got me thinking!

No, I've never tried it with anything other than old fashioned oats. I sometimes make other flavours (cocoa/banana, raisin/cinnamon, chopped apples/walnut).There are a lot of variations that don't change the calorie content that much.
