WOE: Enjoying JUDDD's freedom after years of low carb
Start Date: Every day!!! JUDD start 1/13/12
Today is my six-month JUDDD-iversary!

And if tomorrow's WI goes as hoped, I will have lost almost 21 pounds!

Short Back Story: in 2000-2001, I went from 220.2 to 162 on WW and spent the next two years trying to lose to my preferred weight, around 140. In 2003, DH lost about 25 pounds on LC, so, since I am not a big sweet eater and love my protein, I tried it, and between 2003 and 2004, lost down to 138-the lowest in 30 years!!

Maintaining is the hardest part, as we all know. Well, slowly, inexorably, the weight came back on. I missed bread! I missed potatoes! I like to drink! And those cheat days took forever to make up. I was at VLC and pretty low cals, around 1400 and just couldn't move down.

Fast forward to January of this year and I was at 174.4-a 10 year high. Saw Beeb's post in the main LC lobby, took a look, asked some questions, took a deep breath and started with a DD, since I was already pretty low cals that day. 341 isn't a lot of cals, but I did it, and on my UD-1704- enjoyed BREAD!!

So here I am, with my clothes fitting again, and enjoying bread, potatoes, fruit and veggies along with being able to use "regular" recipes again. I love to cook and missed that too!

I am very healthy and always feel great, so I had no wonderful epiphanies in that regard, and DDs, especially when they are MWF are difficult in that I have headaches and feel a little fuzzy headed for work (I am in the financial sector), but I NEVER go above my DD target by more than 20 or so, although I've sure had some UUUAAdays. JUDDD doesn't appear to be particularly "forgiving" to me, since pounds gained take more than a couple rotations to take off.

I look forward to losing about 15 more pounds and even toning back up. I did Pilates for over a year and I even had a little six-pack whilst I was out of work for a year, but now it is difficult.

I don't know if I will continue in maintenance-at 50% maintenance mode my numbers are 1532/766, which I don't know if I could do every day. But for now, I am content losing weight with JUDD, and I thank each and every JUDDD BUDDD for their insight and kindness in helping ALL of us do this!

Scotty, I'm so happy for you! Over 20 pounds! You and I are about the same weight yet you are taller, so I can "see" that you look great! I hope you can get back to an exercise you enjoy, and I know that additional 15 pounds is coming off!

Happy Anniversary!

Oops, there is Tina with a special day, too!

Happy Judddiversary to you, Tina!

You two must have just felt something important about that day! It was certainly good for this forum, if it brought both of you here.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts for Tina and myself.

I was looking at my weight log for the last couple years, and before JUDDD I really was just gaining and staying, gaining and staying...now my chart, although bouncy, trends down.

Alas, at this morning's weigh in, I was up .5 pound after a perfect rotation and a very difficult DD where it took all my Yankee stubbornness and determination to not go over my target (I did by 25 cals), or chew off my arm (it was close). I don't think I slept 3 hours...

So my "official" loss is 19 pounds. But as one of the girls at work said, when I said it had taken me 6 months to lose this... "so what?" Ya know, she's right.

BUT! I had the leftover pizza (2 oz-about 100 cals) I refused to eat yesterday-frankly, not worth it- and we have three lobsters to share for dinner with BUTTER, BREAD, and CHAMPAGNE-just cuz the lobsters were on sale-$3.99 lb! Nice diet, what?

Scotty, from my own experience... I bet if you'd gotten more/better sleep your number would have been better (down). Sleep, and good sleep, plays more of a role in weight loss than many people realize.

And your co-worker is absolutely right. So what!! If it's coming off, it's coming OFF. And staying OFF!

Congrats again!

sungoddess and Nancy Happy judd-iversary to you too!

Sheridan I am not a good sleeper in general.I probably average 5 or less a night.

And yesterday was UUAAD. Champagne does that to me...Oh, and the homemade maple bacon ice cream I made.

And today is a garden party fundraiser. I am not good at dealing with things like this on a DD, which I obviously need today...oh well, we do the best we can, right?

Cindy I think I got it from Claire Robinson on Food Network. It was very good but I thought a bit too sweet. Next time I will use less sugar. I used light cream instead of the half and half that was in the recipe cuz
that's what I had. I am sure it would be good made with the other too.
