WOE: JUDDD - started 6/25/12
Start Date: 3/27/12
Starting week 3 of JUDDD

Starting week 3, losses so far:

Week 1 - 3.5 pounds
Week 2 - 3 pounds

Down Days aren't pleasant...I'm feeling pretty bad by the end of the day, even though I try to eat a little something for both breakfast and lunch. I tend to reserve the bulk of my 500 calories for supper.

I'm hoping these down days will get easier as I go along.

That's awesome weight loss. DD's do get easier as time goes by. I try to make the brunt of my calories from low cal vegetables and that seems to really help with the hunger, especially cucumbers and cabbage.

Hang in there - the DDs DO get easier once the Sirt gene kicks in. It took me about 3-4 weeks I think. I still have a day here and there where my desk plant looks enticing, but overall, DDs are actually looked forward to.

It'll also get easier once you get into a routine DD menu/schedule. I try to stay low carb and fats keep me happy. So I drink coffee with cream, full fat yogurt, etc. I also try not to eat anything until 2-3 in the afternoon. Once you find what works for you, it'll be easier.

Congrats on the weight loss, too!

I'm sort of eating the same things on down days. From being low carb for so long, I know that protein keeps me satisfied longer than anything else, so I tend to make that the majority of my down day meals.

I'm going to act like an echo & agree with what everyone said. Well done on your amazing losses to date & yes DD get easier once you find whats works for you. All the posts for DD recipes & DD tips have kept me sane & saved me chewing off my hand in my sleep.

I'm in the middle of week 2 & looking forward to the SIRT kicking in which should make it easier. Its a DD for me tomorrow so its time

Thanks all. Tomorrow is a down day for me also. I have enjoyed my food today! I'm sticking to my DD calories AND my UD calories, so I hope I will continue to lose as I have been.

Please remember that the 500 calorie DD doesn't have to be forever; it's just recommended for the 1st 2 weeks.

If you are feeling weak & uncomfortable, you can try a higher percentage for your DD calories.

KUTGW!!!

What percentage would you recommend increasing it to? My calorie spread is 500/2600 at 20%.

IDK, everybody is different.
You say you're "feeling bad"...
I think that might be normal for the first week or so,
but if it continues, that wouldn't be a great way to live!
So, eat enough to make you feel good!

Try 25% (650), 30% (780), or 35% (910).

Some people have found that they do not lose any more quickly at a lower calorie # or even if they fast entirely, and having a couple hundred more calories a day is less stressful, so they go with that.
