UD for me today

B: fat free Greek yoghurt with flaxseed/almonds/brazil buts/walnuts
L: tuna, salad & low cal dressing

Went for the low cal options for breakfast and lunch because we have an invite for supper and i wanted to save my cals for:-

Fish and chips from the local chippy
glass of wine
homemade orange & almond cake with reduced fat creme fraiche

No snacks

Total cals: 1872

Just love the flexibility of JUDDD - with a bit of careful planning i can eat a "normal" meal with my friends tonight - brilliant!!

L: just had a hb egg, thinking I needed to eat before taking my first oral vaccine (dukoral)-- re-read the instructions, and it says NO FOOD 1hr before the dose ah well-- I'll take it later
D: just figured out I can have an 8-10oz sirloin if I avoid all the fat on it and salad. MIL and FIL are stopping in for dinner tonight, so it's nice to be able to eat the same food as other people, ya know?

DD for me too .... not having a great day, not hungry so just been on water & ginger beer
tried green tea for the first time dont think it agrees with me.. but then i have a lot of allergies. I have a couple of HB eggs on standby though, but its nearly 7pm here i'm going to try & hold out till tomorrow

Sorry to hear this ... for some reason, I cannot drink tea on an empty stomach - I think it might be the tannins? It makes me nauseated. So, you might be having a similar problem. Try the tea another day when you have had some food.

L: I made a veggie sandwich on a big roll (roasted red pepper, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, white balsamic vinaigrette, mayo) and also had a big bite of a bakery fresh sugar cookie (485)
D: 1/2 cup shrimp in cream sauce and a smaller version of the same veggie sammy I made for lunch (451)
Snacks: cantalope and some more of those darn caramel creams that I love so much (286)

fasted. just water and a couple of diet cokes here and there.

we'll see what happens, but this is practically the 3rd time I fasted in the first 2+ of doing juddd. I am shocked at how easy it has been for me to fast. I feel a little weird like man, am I gonna get an eating disorder?

I do most of my DD's as complete fasts with coffee for B and maybe a cup of broth somewhere during the day. It is just easier for me that worrying about food.

No eating disorder hopefully. But fasting has become pretty easy for me too on DD's and it works for me. It isn't for everyone but I actually like the day of rest from food.

I know what you mean...I get this feeling of pride/strength the less I eat, and a lot of other people talk about "enjoying the feeling of control" from eating very little on DDs, and it just reminds me, in a disturbing way, of a couple anorexic friends I had in high school.

^^^They would say stuff exactly like this! I remember one friend was mad at herself for eating 1/2 a bagel...so she didn't eat another bite of food for 3 days.

But I guess that's the difference with JUDDD...we're not doing DDs to punish ourselves. And, as far as I can tell, we *all* look forward to our UDs with no guilt!!!

I have worried at times that JUDDD would make me get overly obsessed with calories & other aspects of weight loss...I do try to avoid certain depression "triggers" like negative self-talk, or perceiving food as reward (or fasting as punishment). I don't know much about eating disorders...but now that I'm thinking about it, I doubt there is any way of eating that will make one "get" an eating disorder. Some WOEs might give eating disordered people more ways to punish/deprive themselves, but you'd probably have to come to it with that mindset.
