Oh, that's so nice to read about, joan. It really can be an exciting concept. Welcome and I hope you have a great DD tomorrow. Get a good night's sleep, though!

Sheridan, I was thinking about your good night's sleep. You had mentioned gardening. One happy sleep trick that has worked for me before is planning next year's garden as I fall asleep. Counting little rows, I suppose, rather than sheep. Something like that! I think how the marigolds are going to look beside the beans, that sort of thing. Plan how I'll lay it out. Height of plants, etc. It sounds crazy, but one moment I'm looking down the rows in my mind at plant height, and the next moment, I'm asleep.

Natasha, great job on managing your weekend.

Hello, Kathleen. My personal thought is that the body learns to expect some DDs, rather than the cravings changing. I think my body has accepted a different cycle of calorie intake, and it happened about 3 weeks in. Both in my head and for my hunger's sake I could then just feel much more comfortable waiting until the morning to eat. Also I discovered chewing gum! I think a person's trigger foods will still cause cravings, and should be placed somewhat late in the day.

I have been a long time dieter and a long time re-gainer. Always just waiting until the scale reached a magic number and I could be done with it. I gave up for several years and pretended it was OK to be obese. It wasn't OK. I laughed anyway.
In Feb 2012 I started HCG and actually started losing wt. I lost 30 lbs in 2 rounds and 10 lbs with low carb. The low carb works for me. It's taken away the cravings. I am trying JUDD to lose to a healthy weight goal. I want a plan I can live with. I feel that everything happens for a reason and I am so glad I found this forum. I couldn't wait to get home tonight and read more of what everyone is doing. Good wishes to everyone!!
WELCOME TO JUDDD!!!!! This is my favorite diet plan in the whole wide world. I am sure you will love it too.

Trying to get caught up reading…Hope I’m not too late to shout out: CONGRATULATIONS Dawn on your milestone! I'm feeling so anxious for you! You will push through the gates of Onederland very soon! And Mary, Congratulations on moving into Onederland! Way to go ladies! Welcome Joan, wishing you much JUDDD magic!

I’ve been missing from here for a few days. After having my meltdown last week over the BP, I had a friend from out of the area come over for a three-day weekend! Hubby was working out of town, so us gal pals had a blast for three entire days! The weather was great, not too hot and we spent some time fabric shopping and goofing off around the area. It was just what I needed – fun and relaxation! (:

Hi all.

I have been lurking here for awhile and decided to start for real in the morning.

I've been doing the diet since the 25th trying it out before starting for real. Started @ 167 on 7/25 and weighed in today after a DD @164.6. Happy with that.

I did lose about 25 lbs. a few years ago on LC, but of course gained it back. So here I am again. I think JUDDD will be great if the first 6 days are any indication.

Thanks for all your information that I have been reading the last few days. It really helped alot.

Lately, I've done more garment design and construction than anything. I also get very involved making cloth art dolls and figures. Haven't done a quilt in a couple of years due to no room but since we're in our new place I've got a few ideas bouncing around in my head for a king size for our bedroom (have a separate studio room). I love to actually make my own batiks, have you ever tried it? Very fun!

I was at a quild's quilt show last weekend and saw an incredible vest which made me wish I could design something like that. Your dolls sound VERY creative -- and making your own batiks -- WOW -- that sounds like a LOT of FUN! I actually am the type who has so many projects going on at one time that it takes forever to complete any one, however I eventually do. The ideas start flowing and my interest pulls me every which way -- creative chaos. I do rotate through my projects though, some are years in production!

Guess we better head to the "August" Thread!

Quiltmaking is my creative outlet, too. Our household's recent 52-card pickup to bring eldercare into the home required I give up my sewing room to a child, who gave up a bedroom to a grandparent. Also time is just not available now. But I have high hopes for future projects when things settle more. I have a quilt partially pieced still on the design wall, and it is definitely going to be enhanced by the batiks in it. They are so fluid and vivid. (No, I didn't batik them myself!)

Louloo, Hi! I'm glad you came out of lurkdom!
