Caved and had 2 pieces of pizza at the orthodontist's pool party last night. Bad for me, but tasted great. Scale didn't care this morning. So I'm just moving on. Basically ended up with a MD. Trying for a good UD today.

Love 'JoyBark'. Good job Kissa, with maintaining so well even with all that is going on in your life.

Rhiannon was released yesterday and is resting comfortably at home. Bed rest until the baby's born, but she's much better.

Jan isn't doing so well. Keira and I sat with her for a couple of hours today, and she had a couple of addled/confused moments, and one or two hallucinations. One of them was hard for me to tell if it was a memory or a hallucination. She's fighting having to have someone live with her when/if she's released, so that's hard. She did seem to know who I am, so I was pleased with that. It's a rough situation. One daughter lives 4 hours away to the north, and the other is moving in 2 weeks about 4 hours away to the south.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

I looked at the magnesium I have been taking and it does have "oxide"!!!

Since that is a no, no for constipation, I will buy the other kind. That may not be easy as I went to Wally World today, it is a super store but a small one anad they had 4 different brands/and/or bottles and each had that word "oxide" . It was rather hidden on the back of the label, but I found it. Will stop at Walgreens and the grocery store tomorrow and hope to find one without it.

Thanks Tina for telling me about this!

Dawn I am glad that Riannon is improving but so sorry that Jan is so confused and has such an uncertain future. At least she knew you and that you came to visit.

Thanks for the support ladies. I believe that those Sirtuin1 genes, hormones, whatever, do all that Dr J promised. It has to be those that have helped me maintain pretty normally through all the stress and visits and holidays. I know now, from my own experience, what an amazing way to live this is.

I Cindy.... I just this second found this thread.

I only read todays or page "7s" post. I am looking for the daily or "roll call ish" thread if there is one here. Where does everyone post on a daily basis.
Today is my 2nd DD (but not yet official) and I am not having such a good DD as today would have been my Sister Georgia's 72 birthday. She passed away 7 weeks after our Mother in 2004. (Mom passed away Christmas 2003). I know I should never, ever blame them for anything but I cannot stop feeling sad and eating is what I do for sadness. I am going to cook my 2 cups of brocoli now and a a bit of X sharp chedder and go ahead and give in and lay down and read my novel. We were very close children (I am 69) but lived far away as adults.
Thanks for listening.

We encourage all the Newbies to post in the "Month" Newbies Post Here thread daily so that they get to know each other and then folks just move on to this thread or wherever else they wish. But we welcome posts everywhere.

There is also a Daily Weigh in thread and an It's ....day, What did you eat today? thread.

Feel free to start a thread that will suit your purpose, that could be fun.

That is really tough for you Lainey. If you do eat a little more than you should don't beat yourself up. Just make sure the foods aren't trigger foods for you. Perhaps some tasty broth to sip?

This should be the opening line for a novel. Fantastic.

First, love and best thoughts to everyone who needs it today.
Second, I love the name "Joy Bark!"
I picture myself as a dog, howling at the moon, "This stuff is delicious!"
I also picture another JUDDD dog howling, "Hey! That's my stinkin' recipe!"
To which I can only reply, you're absolutely right, whoever you are, and I'm sorry I can't remember its provenance. We're howling our gratitude as we eat it.

Joy, I love reading your posts. You always make me smile. Thank you!

Dh and the boys are off this morning with a friend and his oldest boy to try to wrangle the piano we bought this weekend and get it home. My dd is going to teach me to play and I'm SO excited. I've always wanted to play the piano (I played the flute eons ago when I was in high school). So I'm working on relearning the notes, so I'll at least have that done.

Thanks you two.
I mean it about that opening line, Tina. Can I use it?
And I can hardly wait to hear about your piano life. I miss having one, but I think a cello is next on my dream list. Duets with Yo Yo show up in my head more often than you'd think.

Ooooh, my family is involved in community theater in the next town over from us. Maybe we can even perform it sometime. Now wouldn't THAT be fun?

And Kissa, I want an UUAAD that involves little party umbrellas in my hair. THAT also sounds like fun.

YEA DAWN!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations.

So much for our little dachshund being a watchdog. Woke up this morning and DS is home and in his bed asleep. Big bags of stuff all over in addition to what was already everywhere so it took him a bit to haul it all in and she never made a sound or even woke up. He could have been an axe murderer and I would have never known someone was in the house. Also I wasn't expecting him until Saturday. He will be here for 30 days and the off to Ft. Benning, GA.
Today is an UD so I am enjoying cantaloupe and watermelon. I love yellow meated watermelons and DH planted me two kinds of yellows. My daddy and I were the only ones in my family that loved the yellows. Eating it makes me have happy memories of my childhood so today is a great day.

Adi that sounds like a dog that would lick you to death. Lovely to have DS home early.

Isn't it wonderful enjoying all the wonderful fruits once more. I am so enjoying summer fruits this year.

SO excited here, settling down to watch our Olympic opening ceremony! Yay!:c lap:

Hoping I can check in here! I'm not really a newbie since I've been attempting to JUDDD since May! I'm back a week and a half from a 2 week vacation and trying to lose the vacation weight! Last weekend had a unplanned MD which wasn't good. I think I've been overeating on my UD too! It's like get it all in b/c tomorrow I cannot have much! I need to get out of that mindset. Really need to get my mind back into it! I was at 191 this morning so here's to hoping the scale keeps going down, down, down! Trying to get back to stat weight and maintain then concentrate on losing again in mid September.

We call it a mid day. Dr. J in his book calls it an in between day. Not an UD and not a DD. Somewhere in between, hence the name.

Hi again, Steve! Because my UDs are 1,900 calories and my DDs are 600 calories, my MDs are 1,200 - so as to fall about midway between the two. Lots of folks don't use MDs at all. Some people use them as a tool to help them change their schedule when something unusual is happening. I am one who places an MD every Saturday so that I can have M,W,F DDs.

Hi Natasha. It's true that it's easy to overeat on an UD. If I don't do at least a little casual calorie counting I get lost and forget what I'm doing!!! If it wasn't for the online calorie counter I guess I'd have to have notes to myself all over my fridge! Hope you have a good loss soon.

Dawn you are a Wise One. Are you sure you don't want to post a "75 pounds lost" thread and dole out your great wisdom?

adi, what great news that your son is home safe for an extended vacation with you.

Kissa, our family has been thoroughly enjoying the Opening Ceremonies.
