Dee, so you have reached your first July goal already? How amazing. I ma just delighted for you. Hoping and praying that you get into the 270s before August, but, if not, you can be sure it won't be long.

This is the best, best, forum ever.

You can't add a signature until you have had something like 65 posts or been a member for a certain length of time. It is in the Terms and Conditions bit, just keep on posting and it won't be long.

I was on Hcg and am using JUDDD to transition. Loving it so far. Today is my 3rd DD and I feel like I am finally getting the hang of it. Having all the great recipes here has been very helpful.

Scales are looking good!

HOLY COW amazing numbers for after supper first UD

I still nigh on 400 cals. left for tonights bed time. I am flat out amazed. I did eat foods I could easily skip in the future that I ate "just because I could". Using the last two days as what this WOE will be like I am so gonna be on it from now on. I will still check my math (idiot here) tonight but I am pretty sure it is correct and simply unbelievable that it could be right.
We had storms and a near by tornado touched down but across the bay is not really that close I guess.
I sent an e-mail to Cheryl and hope she can magically do my purple flowers tracker for me.
bbl I know I am here a lot but I am having so much fun here and now looking for my bed time luttuce wedge with blue cheese dressing- WoW! see what I mean?

I'm almost through my second DD and I've had less than 450 calories. A little hungry, but not starving. I've noticed liquids seem to fill me up the best so I'll probably sip on broth or decaf for the rest of the evening.
Looking forward to tomorrow's UD. We're having pizza for dinner and I can finally have a couple pieces with the crust! Pizza toppings by themselves aren't really pizza.

Down Day! Tomorrow I start official as JUDDDer!

I love my TRACKER! Thanks Cheryl. I am pretty sure I met Cheryl on the Quitnet board when I quit smoking at the start of 2000- I tried so hard to make it a true 2000er but finally made it Feb. 1, 2000. I also met our Jezzie there and boy was she a wonderful "quitter". Hard to believe I quit going on 13 years ago now and guess what- I would still love to smoke but KNOW way better than to do that. I also gained 60+ lbs that has been a war ever since. I lost it after my cancer surg. Jan. 2011 but have gained it all back. NOW I have hope for losing it again and keeping it gone.
Sorry, rambling rosie here and off topic.
Now, where should I be posting on a daily basis as I do not consider myself that much of a newbe any more? Today I will check out the other threads here and try to settle in.... looking forward to the DD reciepts.

Hi all!

I did five full days of RFL and we went to my girlfriends this weekend. So, I had my first up day yesterday. I had a delicious english muffin with breakfast, and a real flour tortilla for my steak fajita for dinner, and just had a small egg white scramble for my DD breakfast today.

I feel absolutely terrific.

And, my pea protein powder that ouizoid suggested just arrived from Amazon.

Okay well...I had two UDs in a row this weekend. Hubby and I unexpectedly went out WITHOUT the kids on my DD and since we haven't been out alone since our 2 year old was born, I was so ready to let loose and have fun. No regrets!! I am looking forward to my DD when I wake up.

Gotta say that I am loving what I see in the mirror. My pants that were just a bit too tight are now loose after 1 week. I can't believe this!!!!!

Good morning Cindy, TksMa and everyone.

Cindy, I am happy to make this my post spot daily and know I will feel "newish" for quite the while to come.
Very glad yesterday was UNofficial as a DD and know now that I should have kept busier to not fret so much about it being my late sister's birthday.
It sure is a good feeling when I open my eyes and realize it is a UD even though there is no hunger what so ever.
The first hour of the day- after taking my thyroid, it a very long hour. I do my coffee even though I should not even have that till the hour is up and plan with this WOE to begin waiting even for the coffee by doing a walk around several blocks afte I feed the kitties Ms. SuSun and Aaunt Jane. I have a recumbent bike that needs a dusting off and using on a daily basis.
Another hot day with even hotter tomorrow but at least we are one day closer to October.
bbl
Have a fine day everyone. Oh, my biggest realization about WOEing is "WANT WHAT YOU EAT- NOT EAT WHAT YOU WANT" guess I'll have to re-consider that. LOL

Hi everyone

I am so glad I began this "WOE"....

DD's were and are tough but as many here say they get better.

I would get nauseous and head-achey on DD's. (sometimes I still do) Soups and broth help alot. You can sip them throughout the day. Just caluculate them in.
Raw vegetables just a nibble here and there have been my life-saver and get me through the day since I have my main meal at night.
Watercress, snow peas, young string beans, daikon radish, celery.

Watercress is my favorite, and the lowest in calories. Rinse well (don't dry them) put them in a bowl, squeeze a little lemon or lime and sprinkle very lightly with sea salt. I then grab a stem and swish it into the water/lemon/salt mixture that settles to the bottom.
You can choose to do this without the sea salt, but this combo seems to give me a much needed lift.

The sweetness of the snow peas also gives me a little lift.

Way to hot and humid to make soup, I am also waiting for October.

Today's my 3rd DD. Ate way too many "white" carbs yesterday (pizza crust & white bread) and my stomach is still hurting. But no hunger yet, which is nice. I've had a couple cups of coffee with Hershey's SF syrup, about 15 calories.
From now on my UD will be more South Beach with whole grains, hopefully my stomach will handle that better.

I'm back... I had a really stressful work week last week, and I decided that something's gotta give . So, I made an honest decision to take a break from dieting till everything sorted itself out, which it did, thank goodness . I felt if I made the decision, it wouldn't be considered just "blowing the diet".

So, today was my first official back-on-track UD, and it's going just fine. I'm happy with my decision, because it definitely reduced the amount of stress I was under. I just didn't bother to weigh before launching into today's UD . But I tend to stay away from the scales anyhow. My clothes are the best indicator for me, and they're definitely not as loose as they had been.

Onward...

I successfully completed another DD yesterday! We had friends over for a bbq last nights, so I planned carefully. I had an egg white/veg/salsa scramble about 11am, and then waited for dinner. Of all of the great food, the one I wanted last night was my homemade baked beans, so I had a serving of those. And they were delicious!

I woke up this morning hungry! But, feeling great. This is completely do-able for me. The best part is that today is an up day!

Hello,

I'm new to this WOE, but I've been a member of this website since the dawn of man! 11 years!!

I had a rough year, health wise. My doctor thinks I have chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia but I'm on the waiting list to see a Rheumatologist so I have no "official" diagnosis. Anyway, all this fatigue helped me pile on some pounds. I'm now bigger than ever and I've reached my breaking point.

I have decided to try this WOE because it will fit my lifestyle. My wonderful boyfriend does most of the cooking because he works from home. I wanted a diet plan that wouldn't require too much "education" on his part. With this plan, he can cook his normal meals half the time...the other half I can fend for myself. He's super supportive and willing to adapt his cooking to suit my needs, even though I told him he doesn't have to. Tonight he's cooking me Nabemono, a Japanese hot pot. Instead of udon noodles, he's using shirataki noodles. This should be DD friendly.

I will be avoiding wheat in addition to this WOE. I know that's not a requirement, but I don't think wheat does me any favours.

I'm eager to get going. Unfortunately, the book was sold out...so I haven't had a chance to read it. I've been studying the forums to find any important rules other than calorie cycling. Am I missing anything major by not reading the book?

to JUDDD!

I still consider myself a newbie, so I can only offer you bits and pieces of posts I've read by the more seasoned JUDDDers, but I think there are 2 camps on this one. Some say you don't have to read the book at all, becuase there's tons of info and support from real-life people doing the diet right here on the forum. The other camp say it's still worth it to read the book and see the scientific part for yourself.

Good luck!

I will probably buy the book online, but I'm going to get started anyway. I am motivated now and I need to ride that momentum.

TooMuchBooty or do we call you that sugar sucking thing? I think I'll just call you TooMuch, lol.

Lovely to have you with us. My heart goes out to you if you have Chronic Fatigue/ME or Fibromyalgia. One of my dearest friends suffer from ME and has done for more that 10 years. Tough.

The book is really interesting, but if you use the calculator on his site and ask lots of questions here there is not much you will miss.

I like the sound of your BF. Seems like a keeper.

Kissa, I saw you post this on another thread- what is a UUAD?

TooMuch, I got the book and have read it. There is a LOT of science speak in it, and I am kind of a geek so I enjoyed that. However, if you read at that site and here and use the calculator, I think you can do it perfectly without having to have the book. One of the things I like the most is that aside from the calories, this diet has a LOT of flexibility, so you dont need a lot of instruction.
