(The WOE. I have been doing over 12 or 13 yrs)
I think my body became immune to it and said "oh-yea! Watch this, your not going to loose any weight. I dont care if you dont eat flour or sugar watch this! We are surviving!!"
Started JUDDD'ing the first of this year weighing in at 207lbs the weight slipped off of me like melted butter in no time.
When I got to 185 it slowed and I stayed there a while..Then all of a sudden boom I started weight loss again. I am a firm believer in JUDDD<3

Forgot to add I am in a size 12 now...
Wow, that's wonderful!! Congrats on your loss!

I'm hoping that JUDDD will be the answer I've been looking for, as well. I'm in my second week, and it's going pretty well, so far. I haven't been counting at all on UDs, just eating 500 cals on DDs, so it has been very bouncy...to say the least. However, I'm definitely willing to hang in and wait for the MAGIC to kick in! I felt like it did a little today since I weighed in at my lowest yet! I've been trying to track my cals a bit better today, too (UD). I'm really liking this WOE so far.

And the support and encouragement is so great here!

My JUDDD journey thus far:

July Goal: 169

July 9- 178.2 DD #1 (Following UD #1 on the 8th)
July 10- 175.2 UD -Totally indulged today.
July 11- 177.6 DD
July 12- 175.4 UD
July 13- 178.0 DD -Some very salty chips last night. I'm puffy this morning!
July 14- 176.0 UD
July 15- 177.0 MD/UD?-Sunday/Started out to be DD, till evening... ~1400-1500?
July 16- 178.6 DD - Me and my salty evening snacks... Very puffy again!
July 17- 175.8 UD - Decided to count (when the day was over) and had 2700 cals today. Maybe I do need to start counting on UD...
July 18- 177.6
July 19- 173.8 Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about! (Still going to aim for 2000 cals on UD from now on.)

I wanted to see how y'all feel about the Juddd calorie calculator. It says I need around 2000 calories on an UD. That can't be right!??

It all depends on your height & weight. And possibly your age.

Well, even though I vowed to track my UD calories to make sure I wasn't going over, we went out for dinner and I have no idea how many cals I had. Although my son ate half my french fries and coleslaw, which is a good way to cut back!

Did you indicate some activity level? It is best to use the lowest level. However, you may be @ 2000 for UDs- that's the best part of JUDDD! The down days are low, but the up days are ... well, Up!!

We went out for dinner too and I just said 900 calories for the burger and fries. I tried to get my two year old to help me with the fries, but no such luck haha

Hi there,

not a real newbie, but a "newbie again".

I tried JUDDD in spring, unfortunately only for a short time. I liked it, but I messed up soon and quitted. Don't really know why, there was no real reason, but I did, stupidly.

So I'm restarting today with an UD (to make it easier ), but I already planned my first DD tomorrow.

So here I'm back, full of remorse - and very excited!

Today is an UD for me. It is 915am, and I have no idea what I am going to eat today, which is Such a nice feeling! I will walk down to the cafe and have either breakfast or lunch, when I get hungry. I didn't wake up plotting out what I could eat, and when I would eat it. I feel, dare I say, in control. I love JUDDD.

I just realized I can have cereal again! Some maple & brown sugar mini-wheats with icy cold skim milk sounds so good! It will have to be tomorrow though, today is a DD.
So far, in a week on JUDDD, I have lost 1lb, gained 2lbs, lost 2.5lbs, putting me at 1.5lbs less than when I started. Looks like my body is starting to adjust to the carbs. My goal was 180.5 for July, I might still make it.

Isnt that the greatest feeling? I have been eating greek yogurt all week- plain on DD, with awesome granola stirred in on UD. And fruit! A whole cup of raspberries is only 60 calories! I have missed those things so much. It was one of the hardest things about LC- I felt like if I had a high carb meal, even if it was healthy foods- I had blown it and would just make an excuse to re-start tomorrow, or Monday, or after an upcoming event, or whatever excuse I would come up with.

Do you always weigh daily? I think I would go if I did.

You can totally make 180.5!!

I weigh every other day. If I only weigh weekly things get out of hand. I really can't count on how my clothes fit, I can gain 7-8lbs and still wear the same pants. So I need the scale to keep me honest.+

Went and applied for a new ss card today with my new last name on it. Now I have to change all my credit cards, utitlies, mortgage, bank accounts, drivers license...it seems endless!

Have a great weekend everyone! Tomorrow is my Dad's 55th birthday and my Brother's 19th birthday so lots of celebrating!

Hi g3!

Hang out all you want. Ask questions.

JUDDD is not for everyone.

Type 1 diabetics, and some Type 2s, may have trouble keeping their blood sugar regulated on DDs. Then again, some diabetics find their BS stabilizes on JUDDD.

People with eating/binging disorders need to approach UDs very carefully as they may find the freedom is too free. Then again, some people find the JUDDD structure helps them cope with their disorder.

Some people with metabolic/hormonal problems have to work hard to tune their DD/UD calories to the correct - ahem - dosage before they start feeling good and losing. Some people seem to need several months of healing before the losing part kicks in.

HOWEVER, as you will see, most people adapt to the DD/UD rotation quickly, lose at a comfortable pace, transition smoothly to maintenance, and enjoy heck out of JUDDDing.

to all the new and the old newbies.

I've been Juddding for a month with very good results. I have found the DD's tough, some don't.

I thought it was joke when some people said they have more of a problem on UD's than DD's. Then, I experienced it first-hand.

I thought I didn't have keep track of my calories as most people said. (such a pain). Again wrong for me... better to keep track even on a piece of paper.

The advice that is given to us on this board as "newbies" is priceless. Worth its weight in gold.

Thanks Juddd advisors.

Jumpin' on the Juddd!

Hi everybody, longtime lurker first-time poster here! You all are just so NICE, you have lured me in to joining, and I am SO not a joiner! A wee bit about me: fatgirl whole life long with a few notable, usually crush-motivated big losses along the way which quickly vanished when things went south. Hit an all time high of 250 by 2004, and decided to dump that mess once and for all, triggered by the twin stressors of losing my mom and a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. Since then I ever so slowly inched down to 175, mostly low cal, and lowered carbs the last 20 or so. Then I just SAT THERE. For like TWO YEARS. Interrupted only by a christmas cookie-fueled regain of 13 pounds over this past holiday season, sigh. But I make some unbelievably good cookies, it was almost worth it!

I've been playing around with intermittent fasting the last month, but no loss. I think calories have just been too low, at around 12-1300 per day. (I'm 5'3" 52, desultory exercisor---like a half hour walk and the wussy arthritis class at the pool).

And then I stumbled onto JUDDD, somewhere in my unceasing internet research to find a way to outwit my fiendishly adaptive metabolism. So I've just finished 6 days juddding at 500-550 DD and 1800-1880 UD...got on the scale this morning after 3rd DD and literally had to MAKE myself turn my head to look at the number I have such scale PTSD from trying EVERYTHING and nothing working...and I went from 188 to 182.5, DOWN 5.5 POUNDS! In six days!!! The heavens I swear opened, a choir of angels sang, and beams of light filled my bathroom! I know it won't last, but the thrill of finally finding SOMETHING that might work is indescribable...well, you all know how that is, don't you??? Delighted to be here and planning on hoovering up all the nice support on offer and spewing back as much as I can, too!

9 days on JUDDD for me, and I'm still waiting for the UD where I have to force myself to eat all my calories. So far DD are actually easier, I do fine with 400-600 calories, but go nuts on UD. I think I'm still getting over the carb deprivation, on DD I don't have carbs, and but on UD it gets out of hand quickly. I'm giving myself a full 2 weeks, if I'm still having trouble with self-control I'll have to cut out the carbs all together for awhile.
Funny thing is, I never binged until I went LC.

Personally I think you'll end up being more relaxed with carbs eventually, I just think it is different for every person as to when that happens. Really, for two full months I had ice cream almost every day, even on the DD I found 40 calorie SF fudgsicles, and was sure to use every last calorie on both UD and DD. I feel--no--felt that hooked to finally be able to eat carbs, after years of deprivation on every diet imaginable. Now I feel way more relaxed, don't HAVE to have it. And miracle of miracles...it is an UD, I am making grilled veggies to go with dinner, and there is no regular ice cream in the house. And I am fine with that. This is new territory for me, and it feels great! Give your body and mind time to acclimate to this new pattern of eating, you are gonna love it!!
