What is the most bang for 100 calories?
I thought this might be fun... Its the end of the day and you've saved 100 calories for snacking or other DD debauchery. What is the most filling snack you can eat? Go! (Can anyone tell I'm hungry
)1 large cucumber with 2 tbsp roasted pepper humus (70 calories) 1 large mug of miso soup (35) Last edited by brewstate; 06-29-2012 at 02:38 PM.. |

Bwahaha! I never have 100 cals left on a DD. But if I did, it would have to be my fav goto which is anything combined with Miracle Noodles. Any broth, grilled zucchini, shrooms, & peppers all mixed together! ![]() |

I buy sliced turkey which is 70 calories for 3 slices. Wrapped around 3 dill pickle spears comes out real close to 100 calories. Filling too.
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce (50) sauteed with a few chopped onions and bell peppers with shirataki noodles ftopped with a sprinkling of canned parmesan cheese for 100 calories. |

I second the cucumber, peeled and sliced, but use a couple of laughing cows to get it around 100 calories.

I second the 100-cal popcorn. I like to get the kettle corn kind.
I also do a Vietnamese iced coffee for 110 calories that's a super-nommy treat! 100 calories of chocolate gluc pudding would be a TON of volume! I'm not sure I could eat as much as that would be for a snack. ![]() |

It's chilled coffee poured over ice and then sweetened with sweetened condensed milk. You can Google how to make a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, or...
I make mine on a DD with 1 Tbls SC milk, some DaVinci's and 2 Tbls half & half for 110 calories. On an UD I add 2 Tbls SW milk and 3 Tbls half & half for a sweeter, creamier version and 195 calories. I am very much in with these right now! |

I might try that one day, but for now I've got a couple of cans of SW milk and don't mind spending the cals on it. Thanks for the idea, Ouiz! |

6 tbsp egg beaters (50 c.) with 50 calories of shredded cheese for a cheesey 100 calorie omlet. Or skip the cheese and add veggies. Or use only 3 tbsp egg beaters and use cheese and veggies!

I found a good one yesterday.
2 large iceberg lettuce leaves 1 slice 25 calorie turkey 1/2 slice fat free cheese (it doesn't taste bad combined with turkey) 1/2 roma tomato pickle onion slices 5 calorie bbq sauce from netrition Any other veggies you might like. I think spinach would be good in this too. Lay the lettuce flat and apply ingredients like you would on bread. Fold the lettuce around the sandwich supplies and enjoy it like a sandwich! I don't remember the exact calorie count but it was maybe 65-75 calories and so much more satisfying than a salad. ![]() ![]()

1C zucchini, chopped fairly small or shredded
1 egg beaten w/ 1T water Throw the zucchini in the skillet on medium high heat and saute until it starts to get a little brown (gives it a flavor we like). Spread the zucchini in an even layer in the skillet and pour the beaten egg over the zucchini circle. Turn the heat down and put a lid on it. Cook for another minute or two, or until the egg is set to your liking. This gives bulk and protein and fat and is very satisfying. |

Sorry, that's just me not wanting to type "sweetened condensed milk" over and over. I mis-typed...should have been SC not SW.

If it's a couple of hours before bed:
Hebrew National 97% Fat Free (I think) with a slice of 35-40 calorie Wheat bread toasted, dill relish and mustard. Not the healthiest but it does tide you over for a while. If it is right before bed: Plain yogurt: It helps me sleep. Quote:
I can't eat regular SF fudgesicles, I think the artificial sweetner spikes my appetite and I can't stop at one. ![]() -------------- Mere |
