What is the most bang for 100 calories?

I thought this might be fun... Its the end of the day and you've saved 100 calories for snacking or other DD debauchery. What is the most filling snack you can eat? Go! (Can anyone tell I'm hungry )

1 large cucumber with 2 tbsp roasted pepper humus (70 calories)
1 large mug of miso soup (35)

Bronwyn 06-29-2012 02:41 PM

This is a great post, brew but I have no answers. Hopefully, someone with a lot of experience will chime in!

Thanks for all the encouragement in the challenge, BTW!

Maerow 06-29-2012 02:49 PM

For chewing...popcorn. :D

sunday 06-29-2012 02:51 PM

 Bwahaha! I never have 100 cals left on a DD.

But if I did, it would have to be my fav goto which is anything combined with Miracle Noodles. Any broth, grilled zucchini, shrooms, & peppers all mixed together! :yummy:

adillenal 06-29-2012 02:53 PM

I buy sliced turkey which is 70 calories for 3 slices. Wrapped around 3 dill pickle spears comes out real close to 100 calories. Filling too.

1/2 cup spaghetti sauce (50) sauteed with a few chopped onions and bell peppers with shirataki noodles ftopped with a sprinkling of canned parmesan cheese for 100 calories.

LightlyStarched 06-29-2012 02:57 PM

A big iced coffee with real cream and Torani syrup in Caramel or English Toffee.

KeirasMom 06-29-2012 03:05 PM

I second the cucumber, peeled and sliced, but use a couple of laughing cows to get it around 100 calories.

Mommie22boys 06-29-2012 07:00 PM

I second the 100-cal popcorn. I like to get the kettle corn kind.

I also do a Vietnamese iced coffee for 110 calories that's a super-nommy treat!

100 calories of chocolate gluc pudding would be a TON of volume! I'm not sure I could eat as much as that would be for a snack. ;)

ouizoid 06-29-2012 07:26 PM

one bag miracle rice drained. one bag wild salmon (70). one laughing cow lite (i like chipotle queso). S&P--nuke til hot. Delicious, filling, and a ton of protein.

CaTriGirl 06-29-2012 07:29 PM

I'm bot on JUDDD yet but Greek Yogurt with orange Stevia really fills me up for 100 cals!

Alcestis 06-30-2012 05:58 AM

Greek yoghurt gets my vote too.

TryingJudd 06-30-2012 04:11 PM

A cup of cherry tomatoes and a diced cucumber tossed with ACV and oregano and garlic salt. Yum.

lylydvd 06-30-2012 04:20 PM

350 gram of watermelon :)

Carly 06-30-2012 04:51 PM

2 wasa light crackers (60) with laughing cow wedge (35)= 95
2 wasa light crackers (60) with 1 tbsp PB2 (22.5)= 82.5
FF plain greek yogurt (80) with any of the following: SF Davinchi syrup, 1 splenda and Mio drops, 1 splenda and capella drops= 80
Make it 100 calories with protein powder or PB2 added.
8 stalks of celery (80) with a tbsp of dip/dressing (20)=100- and really, 8 stalks is a ton of celery!
1 cup almond milk- vanilla unsweetened (40) with 2 tbsp SF hershey's syrup (15) and .5 a slenda= 55

I could go on and on, but that's enough from me!

mainemom 07-01-2012 09:14 AM

Pickles, sourkraut and kim chee. And I second the yogurt idea, plain Greek non-fat w/some EZ Sweets and Capella flavor drops stirred in. YUM! Also the Blue Bunny SF fudgesickles.

Are the Blue Bunny SF fudgesickles also Low Carb? Are these the ones typically carried at WalMart?

It's chilled coffee poured over ice and then sweetened with sweetened condensed milk. You can Google how to make a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, or...

I make mine on a DD with 1 Tbls SC milk, some DaVinci's and 2 Tbls half & half for 110 calories. On an UD I add 2 Tbls SW milk and 3 Tbls half & half for a sweeter, creamier version and 195 calories.

I am very much in :love:with these right now!

ouizoid 07-01-2012 05:38 PM

what about buying the Nestle Table Cream and sweetening it? 40 cals/TBS

That might work too. I might try that one day, but for now I've got a couple of cans of SW milk and don't mind spending the cals on it.

Thanks for the idea, Ouiz!

6 tbsp egg beaters (50 c.) with 50 calories of shredded cheese for a cheesey 100 calorie omlet. Or skip the cheese and add veggies. Or use only 3 tbsp egg beaters and use cheese and veggies!

brewstate 07-02-2012 08:12 AM

I found a good one yesterday.

2 large iceberg lettuce leaves
1 slice 25 calorie turkey
1/2 slice fat free cheese (it doesn't taste bad combined with turkey)
1/2 roma tomato
pickle
onion slices
5 calorie bbq sauce from netrition
Any other veggies you might like. I think spinach would be good in this too.

Lay the lettuce flat and apply ingredients like you would on bread. Fold the lettuce around the sandwich supplies and enjoy it like a sandwich! I don't remember the exact calorie count but it was maybe 65-75 calories and so much more satisfying than a salad. :yummy::yummy:

Sheridan 07-02-2012 08:33 AM

1C zucchini, chopped fairly small or shredded
1 egg beaten w/ 1T water

Throw the zucchini in the skillet on medium high heat and saute until it starts to get a little brown (gives it a flavor we like). Spread the zucchini in an even layer in the skillet and pour the beaten egg over the zucchini circle. Turn the heat down and put a lid on it. Cook for another minute or two, or until the egg is set to your liking.

This gives bulk and protein and fat and is very satisfying.

Carly 07-02-2012 08:50 AM

1 large cucumber 1/2 peeled and sliced very thin (45 c.)
1 tbsp diced red onions (5 c.)
SF rice vinegar- a few splashes
Salt to taste
Let chill in fridge for 2-3 hours
50 calories and totally filling.

Do the same with celery sliced fairly thin.
4 stalks= (40 c.)
1 tbsp diced red onion (5 c.)
Total= 45 calories= cool refreshing, crunchy, filling

One more question! Sorry. Lol. What's is sw milk?

Mommie22boys 07-02-2012 11:04 AM

Sorry, that's just me not wanting to type "sweetened condensed milk" over and over. I mis-typed...should have been SC not SW.

b_lou_who 07-03-2012 11:18 AM

for pms type emergencies, otherwise I just don't do evening eating

yogurt with pb2 and a few hemp seeds
sunwarrior vanilla with water and a little carrot juice blended with ice
2 rye crackers with laughing cow and halved cherry tomatoes sprinkled with pink salt
packet of shirataki with low cal sauce like spicy thai peanut
clean frappucino
clean cocoa with homemade marshmallow creme
homemade almond milk fudgesicles/pudding pops/popsicles from juice and gelatin
my favorite popsicle right now is carrot juice/gelatin/greek yogurt/vanilla and stevia powder. NOM
cucumber slices spread with lowcal creamy cheese
wine and sliced lowfat cheddar

GrannyPants 07-03-2012 05:56 PM

If it's a couple of hours before bed:

Hebrew National 97% Fat Free (I think) with a
slice of 35-40 calorie Wheat bread toasted,
dill relish and mustard.

Not the healthiest but it does tide you over for a while.

If it is right before bed:

Plain yogurt: It helps me sleep.

Is there a recipe for the almond milk fudgesicles somewhere?
I can't eat regular SF fudgesicles, I think the artificial sweetner spikes my appetite and I can't stop at one.
