1 large star fruit= 38 calorie
You can eat 2 and a half for about 100 calories- I bet I'd be stuffed! I usually just eat half at a time and feel satisfied from the cool, crunchy, sweetness. I know you all think I'm crazy about the celery, but I love it. I now use the Walden Farms miracle mayo (Chipolte or Ranch) as dip. It has 0 calories and tastes pretty good. 1 stalk celery= 10 calories I also have started making zucchini noodles. |

Just had a magic pop spread w one T of cream cheese and an ounce of lox. YUM. 100 cals of crunch, savory goodness with protein to hold me over and the good, oily fish fats. I only had full fat cream cheese at this time but this would even be more satisfying with whipped cream cheese or reduced fat. DEFINITELY gonna be a staple for me.

Miracle Noodle Stir Fry
Thank you, Carly, for letting me know about this thread! Lot's of great ideas, will spend a while checking out more ideas!
Here is my addition: Micacle Noodle Stir Fry Drain noodles rinse pat dry Fry noodles in nonstick pan with sm amt peanut or coconut oil. I let them pop and dry out a bit, took about 5 or 10 minutes. I added these ingredients in this order, stirring between additions: Fresh grated ginger with a touch of grated fresh garlic (depends on if you like it) Soy sauce (I used Braggs) Add beaten egg white (added a sliced serrano pepper to it) or you could use Crushed red pepper to taste instead of the serrano Sesame seed (just sprinkled a few on top) place in bowl top with chopped green onions Really good for: approx (40 calories), fraction of a carb for the ginger root and sesame seeds, depending on how much you use, I didn't measure. |

What brand of low carb tortillas do you find that are 45 calories each? I've been searching and all the low carb versions so far are 80-100 calories--but they are large (La Tortilla Factory and Mission). Are there small versions of these, or is there a better brand? |

Hi Brewstate - I couldn't find them locally so ended up buying the case online and am glad I did. I now have all the flavors and keep some at work, some at home and am enjoying experimenting with all the ways I can use them. A great DD tool and they even have been a go to when my UD cals are expended but I want some crunch. If you like the wasa light crackers I think you will be safe in buying these. The texture is much the same with more flavor IMO.

I buy them in my local Hy Vee grocery store.. a bag of 15 giant crisps for $2.99. I'd order them online if my store didn't carry them. They don't have a strong flavor, but some flavor, and are sturdy, so you can heap almost anything you want on them from tuna salad to layers of meats and cheeses. You can break them into pieces and use to scoop up great globs of dip or spread them with soft cheese or pate. They're sturdy and crispy and crunchy, and I think what is the most amazing thing about them is that they are only 15 calories for all that crispiness!

This is where I buy mine, also. Don't usually hear of anyone on here using Hy-Vee so I often wonder if there are many folks who have access to them. However, when I look at the list of locations, I sure see a lot!!!

We don't have Hy Vee in NY, but I ordered a case of assorted flavors on line. I can't wait to try them. I usually only eat a bed time snack on DD, but could use a change from Wasa light and Kavli crisp bread.

I originally heard of Magic Pops when folks on the east coast were getting them, before we had them in this area, so maybe if you spend a chunk of time on the phone, calling all the groceries in your area, you might find one that carries them now, or that will order them for you. You might also call health food places. It's nice to just be able to bring home a bag of them when you do your regular grocery shopping.

I get Suzie's Thin Cakes from Whole Foods. I think they must be similar to the Magic Pops. I like the Corn, Quinoa, and Sesame flavor best and the serving size is 3 cakes for 38 calories. That's just under 13 calories each, but I think they're smaller than the Magic Pops. They're about 3" by 3" square, but are a great vessel for toppings, and readily available in my area.

Dawn: I love those even though they look like drink coasters. They're better (IMO) than wasa crackers. I spread a laughing cow cheese wedge over 3 of them (1 wedge, divided) then put some hamburger dill pickle chips or thin sliced tomato on them.

They do look like drink coasters! I think that every time I open the cabinet they're in. |

I concur on the iced coffee being worth the calories and keeping me satisfied for a long time!
For something with "substance", I just discovered roasted squash! 2 cups of acorn squash, or 1 cup of butternut is just under 100 calories. It's dense, creamy and warm! Don't have to add anything to it (I add Mrs. Dash sometimes to kick it up). We slice them in half, cover the top with foil, and throw them in the oven til soft! Easy peasy! |

I make a mini-shake every morning with 1/2 cup almond milk (20 calories) plus a few diced strawberries (<10 calories) and a splash of Walden Farm's chocolate syrup (0 cal) - mix it all up and it's thick and good and satisfying - great breakfast replacement on DD! (I always need a snack in a few hours, but it's a good start)

Great thread! I want to order some Magic Pops, but their website says there's delays in shipping due to Sandy. So, I'll probably wait a while. I'll check my Meijer next time I go and see if they have anything similar.

If you have a Whole Foods, they have Susie's Thin Cakes which are smaller but similar. I think they are 38 calories for three.
