What's on *your* DD grocery list?

I know we have DD staples and DD finds, but I thought I'd start another thread if people want to jump in.

Most of what's on your list plus the following:

Yup, that's the other thing... Talapia.

I hadn't thought of the portabellas for a "burger" may try that on Sunday since I'm going to a BBQ and it should be a DD. I want to avoid a MD if possible and now I have a plan- Thanks!

I must try the better than bullion. I use a powdered broth: 15 c. Tsp, but it's not that great.

Oh, it's SO good! And the ingredients are pretty clean...the powdered stuff & cubes always have some sort of sugars/starches that aren't normally in a homemade soup!

I like the chicken, vegetable, and mushroom. Keep meaning to try the beef!
They also have organic versions, low sodium, kosher...very nice!

Carly 06-27-2012 06:46 PM

Adding it to my list.

They have several kinds, and it's very yummy. It does have soy for those of us trying to eliminate it.

I get the Jack Link's Steak, Original or Peppered.
They're not sugar-free, but they're a lot lower than flavors like Teriyaki!
They're also much more moist and tender than traditional jerky.
1oz=60cals, 1g fat, 2g carb (1g sugar), 12g protein.

I just googled "sugar free jerky"...there are some brands out there, and a website called Cowboy Dan's that has several SF varieties.

But SF is hard to find in the average grocery store/Walmart etc. :(

Joyjoy 06-28-2012 03:42 AM

Thanks, PJ!:)

BaileysGirl 06-28-2012 05:19 AM

I love the simplicity of DD's!

pecans/almonds
strawberries
romaine lettuce
cucumbers
tomatoes
bell peppers
red onion
jalapenos
mushrooms
light ranch dressing
ken's lite northern italian (love this stuff)
smoked ham
progresso light soups
luna bars
eggs
sf popcicles

Dottie 06-28-2012 05:46 AM

Tilapia; tuna in water; pouch salmon; shrimp; chicken breast; springerhill ranch 98% lean ground beef(Randalls/safeway carries it). (all my proteins are under 130cals per 4oz serving for convenience).

Bell peppers; celery; green onions(easy to count); shredded and head cabbage; romaine and spinach blend; canned green beans; cucumbers; frozen cauliflower and broccoli; ro-tel tomatoes.

Light or FF salad dressing; light sour cream; miracle whip light; spray salad dressings (kraft or wishboone, I don't remember which brand); Heinz 1-carb catsup; Kikkoman Ponzu sauce.

Laughing cow or WW cheese; natures own double fiber bread (50cals a slice) or sarah lee delightful whole wheat (45 cals a slice); kroger has 100% whole wheat sandwich thins in the freezer section @ 90 cals per serving(bought them but haven't tried them); Joseph's l/c pitas and lavash; flatout light flat breads; Cheeze-it's 100 cal packs (my guilty occasional pleasure).

I have a few Misto sprayers with different oils (olive, avocado, macadamia, sesame) that I use as well. (Less than 1tsp worth of spray, so about 20 cals) when I want "fat" on my salads or want to saute something 'in oil'.

Some lean cuisine frozen meals in the freezer "just in case".

The brand is Harvestland (the ones I get are uncured bacon and cheddar, but they also have a jalapeņo version too, I think) I found them in a 4-pack at super WM. They're in a case by pre-packed pulled pork and the perdue short cuts chicken. They cost 4 bucks and change. 140 calories. :) I have been eating one for lunch on DDs with a little drizzle of maple grove farms FF onion dressing on top. Dee. Lish. :yummy:

KeirasMom 06-28-2012 07:42 AM

Thanks Andrea! I'm going to keep an eye out for them.

kare30bear 06-28-2012 05:58 PM

I saw Hungry Girl posted something about Blue Diamond Baked Nut Chips that I want to find SOON.

Baby Spinach (2 cups= 9 Cals)
Sugar Snap Peas (2/3 cup is only 41 Cals)<---MAJORLY obsessed with these
Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Hot Dog (45 cals)
Diet Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa - (25 calories)
Unsweetened Applesauce (1/2 cup is 50 cals)
SF Chai Tea Latte (Oregon Chai) just add milk/cream (0 cals) before adding what you like to it
SF Caramel Pudding Cup (60 cals)

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm coming from LC so I needed these.
