Clean challenge - join me?

Hi all -

I am desperate to make June a good loss month and so in a race for the border to July I am going to try and do a very clean Judd for the rest of the month. For me that means a commitment to avoid diet soda and processed food and hit my numbers. It might mean something else to you but I would appreciate a crew to check in with and keep me/us accountable. Hopefully this will maximize our losses. It's only a few days - who is with me?

I'm with ya!
I don't know what clean means to me.... just to hang tough and no UUAD's. I would say stick to my low DD number, but no promises there.... I will check in daily though and tow the line... I would love to lose 2 pounds between now and July 1! (well, of course, I would love to lose more, but I am trying to be realistic)

I'm with you. Trying to get in at least one full fast day a week plus my down days. Sticking with strict rotation til end of month. So glad the gardens are producing, makes clean organic eating simpler.

Then my boys will both be home from navy, two camping trips two weeks in a row. Fourth of July should be a fast day.

ME ME ME!!! I have already vowed to have a perfect 9 days until June 30 so I will have SOME kind of loss for June. I started this morning doing a fasting DD after my morning coffee with HWC and 1 T oc coconut oil. Lots of water with lemon and it is mid afternoon and I am NOT HUNGRY. YEA!!!

I am in! I am trying to break my addiction with carbs and really stick to my UD/DD numbers. For the past few days I stopped counting calories, which is not a good thing. Goal is to loose 1 or 2 lbs by July 1st. Tomorrow I will have to step on the scale, which I have been avoiding.
I really need to get my food prepared in advance and plan ahead.

I am also going to try EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). It sounds like hocus pocus (sp?) but I have friends who used it successfully. You basically tap on meridian points on your body and say affirmation to control food cravings and many other issues. I have few books on the subject and have used the tapping with my fear of flying and it really helped.

I am in maintence now for 2 months! But June found me more off plan then on, life and a lot of excuses ending with a 3 # gain! My maintaining numbers are UD 1540 and DD at 50 % is 770, but I did not count calories for most of this month resulting in those 3# coming back

It is 6 pm and I have not eaten so it looks like I will make the day. I never eat after 7 so I only have an hour to go. I was hungry about 30 minutes ago but I drank a glass of water and it went away. DH has had his dinner so that is out of the way also.
I am remembering to take my resveratrol and L-glutamine and Chromium P as I feel I need all the help I can get although I just remembered to take it and hadn't noticed until now.

Haven't had any soda since I took my "pledge" but it is an UD and haven't been able to eat much yet- about 800 cals. (sitting in the hospital with DS who has a ruptured appendix) Not sure if I will just make it another DD and make tomorrow an UD- thoughts?

Prayers are with you! When situations happen like this, just do the best you can, diet should not be a concern!

I'm in! I know that tomorrow, I might have an UUAD b/c it's our anniversary and the chef at our fave restaurant is making a special (read: not on the menu, and 8 courses for our 8yrs) meal for us. That said, the rest of the month, and frankly into July until I have to leave on a huge business trip, will be clean.

I haven't read the whole thread so I will come back when I do

I thought I posted on this thread, but somehow it didn't make it!??!?! Anway, I am doing my version of clean eating and have been since 1st of June! I am working on finding my food issues! Will update as soon as I can cipher my data. No simple carbs, wine, dairy, stevia and some fats. Paleo & whole foods only.

Every time I see this thread, I think it's about housework. I absolutely refuse to join a thread wherein I have to clean my house!

That being said, I also eat out way too much to keep it clean. I don't drink soda very often. I suppose I could give that up. This is beginning to feel like Lent, and I'm not even Catholic!

Just realized if I work at it, I can be in maintenance when the family reunion starts July 30. Count me in!

Soren, WOW, a special eight course meal! How wonderful! Our next anniversary will be 40. In terms of meal courses, that might be overkill .

Sunday! Totally with you on finding food issues. Last night, my swelling feet told me very clearly that I can no longer tolerate the levels of salt I used to have np eating.

Clean eating is working. I have fasted except for coffee with HWC and coconut oil my last 3 DD's.
154.6 following DD 6/19
153.8 following DD 6/21
152.8 following DD 6/23
If this continues I could actually lose something for June. I started at 155.4 June 1 and have bounced up and down all month. Too many UD calories most likely.
Yea for Clean Eating!!!!!!!!! and JUDDD!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome all. So jealous Soren. That sounds like a wonderful celebration. Interesting to see the various clean challenges we set for ourselves.

I am chugging ice tea but no diet soda so far today which is a victory because it is my morning "coffee". Yesterday turned into a MD and I lost a pound. I am at 200 and if I squinted just right and blew all the air out of my lungs and whistled a happy tune I might have been able to claim onederland. Sooo close I will hate to see the bounce tomorrow from today's UD.

I have 2 announcements 1) I will give up SF chocolate, I think that's what some of the issue I've been having (read: stalled) was.

2) notice the "was" above. Had a good DD yesterday where I was hungry (PMS) so I allowed myself more cals. Like, 700+ total instead of 500+.
Anyway--
WHOOSH!

I'm down almost 2lbs this morning!!!

I need to post a thread thanking everyone for their advice and support!!! You guys are AWESOME!

I've not successfully done coconut bark, maybe I should try again. I do have some Ghirardelli and Lindt 85% super dark, which is relatively low carb and quite yummy. Hard to get milk chocolate without braving the SAs though.

Do you have a recipe in particular that you like?

I sort of free hand my coconut bark. One T cocoa to each 4T coconut oil, then add liquid Splenda to taste. My fav "recipe" is to line a cookie sheet w parchment paper and scatter small pistachio and almond pieces and sometimes some shredded coconut then pour over the chocolate mixture and finish with a sprinkle of sea salt. Freeze, crack into pieces and try not to eat the whole thing at once. I find the thinner layers taste better. HTH!

I feel like I am back. I had a great DD today. I fasted till 5 PM (had nice dinner without carbs), exercised and cleaned the house. I can't believe I did all this on my DD. I guess I had the extra energy after my last 2 UUDays

Happy Anniversary! Soren! 8 years !!

Our anniversary was this month too! We are celebrating tomorrow - going for breakfast, then church.

Then staying tomorrow night in a "Junior Sweet" it is called, comes with hot tub, etc. They take $1 off the price for every year you have been married - $49 off for us! Taking along a bottle of pink champagne!!

So tomorrow I will not count!

I plan to stay with my numbers here, yesterday was a UD and I went over by only 76!

So far today doing good!
