Someone talk me down!

Today started out so good. Its an UD and my DH wanted to try a new indian restaurant for lunch so I agreed. I didn't eat any breakfast (except a slice of cheese) until lunch so I could splurge. I ate a lot of food, maybe a plate and half of things like butter chicken, tandoori chicken leg, some rice, and lots of veggie dishes. I tried to stay away from anything too creamy.

I alotted myself 1500 calories which would leave me 400 for dinner but somehow my lunch woke up the monster in me and I have since eaten 3 homemade rice crispy treats so basically my calories are depleted (plus a hundred extra) and its 3 PM. Should I try to eat a light dinner or just fast for the rest of the evening?

I think you should consider this one of those UUAD and just not worry too much. Tomorrow will correct! All of us have done this, by the way!

I love tandoori chicken and I completely understand!

Since its indian food there aren't any calculators I could find to tell me calorie counts even if I could remember what the food was called I estimated maybe 1500 calories but was hoping to go on the high side. My calculated calories are 1910 and with a 1500 cal buffet and the treats, I'm at 2013 right now.

I know I shouldn't beat myself up, but I've been trying to be so good lately. What was I thinking??

I'd say do what makes you feel best, but if feeding the monster is what feels best, wouldn't it be interesting to have a conversation with the monster first? When mine shows up, I like to ask her questions. Like what is it that you really want? Is there any way we can be friends? Are you trying to make a point here because i'm all ears! Etc. Then, I go ahead and eat if that's what I want most. At least I've learned something wonderful from my UUAD, then. Enjoy, either way. I hope the days of beating ourselves up are over, over, over.

Doesn't sound like you had an UUAD to me- many of us have had days of 2500 or 3000 cals. So 100 cals over? No biggie. I would just do a light dinner and move on. here's hoping for a whoosh for you ( and all of us!)

I'm of the mindset that you should just tell yourself you were "on vacation" today. You could make dinner some filling, low calorie foods like a huge salad with s. ome grilled tilapia or chicken strips, lots of cucumbers, etc. Or do a veggie stir fry.

I'm thinking that Indian food has a lot of sodium. Am I right? If so, don't get on the scale tomorrow! Just wait a day.

Kimberly is right. You will be so looking forward to your DD tomorrow you may end up with a calorie deficit and then see a drop on the scale the next morning.

Make tomorrow a day where you concentrate on drinking lots of water and iced tea to flush out the sodium. Eat some asparagus and other diuretic type veggies.

Whatever you do, don't feel guilty! That's so not the JUDD thing to do. You said you have been really good. If that's the case, the sirtuins are not going to allow your body to store any of those extra calories as fat. Any gain on the scale will be water weight and it will be gone in a good DD or 2.

That's what I love about knowing how SIR genes work. They start right away working to burn stored fat. At the same time, they activate hormones that absolutely prevent extra calories from being stored as new fat reserves. Instead, those calories just get flushed out through the kidneys.

You are gonna be ok!!! This is where we all join hands and sing the "Judd is forgiving" song! Raise your voices everyone! I got out my guitar!

Eat a light dinner if you are hungry, fast if you aren't. Think about what happened and try to decide if it was just one of those things or if something you can control triggered it.

For me, if I have a really go 'eat out' I want something sweet at the end. So, I always plan a reasonable dessert when I eat out. I find eating something I already gave myself permission to eat is enough. As far as snarfing down the luncheon goes, sounds like it was really good. One of the nicest things about JUDDD is we do get to enjoy special occasions. Just don't give yourself permission to have a special occasion every UD/week.

Take a deep breath. Everything is alright. It really is.

probably a good idea to eat a light, sensible, healthy dinner to let your body know you are still on track. Tomorrow is brand new. You aren't trying to beat yourself up, and you learned something valuable about yourself if Indian food is a trigger.

Elise, don't worry- days like these happen to all of us. I just had 2 of these in the row and I will be back on track tomorrow. Just try to eat lightly for the rest of the day-if you can, and just forget about it

Are you sure you weren't a song writer in a past life That made me laugh.

I don't often eat Indian food, much less buffets so I have no clue why it made me feel like eating everything in sight, but it definitely did, well still does, as I could totally keep eating but with you guy's help, I'm going to stop for the day. I can do it . Tommorow I'll have a perfect DD and powder my nose and stay on track. The best part is I was able to slay the monster before I went over my calories too much so no harm no foul, but it was touch and go for a while.

This is the best place to be when we need some help! That's why I'm here, hanging around right now.

It's a DD for me and the fake logs in my gas log fireplace are looking tasty. Good thing it's too hot for a fire! I might think it's a barbeque and reach in and grab one and start chewing on it!

I'm ready to take my own advice I just gave someone and go eat some of my hard boiled egg whites or maybe even a whole egg to tide me over.

This morning I decided to stick with 300 calories today. My inner hungry monster is fighting me to the death! My stomach sounds like a couple of bears in heat with a stereo microphone sound system!

That's the spirit!! It was worth it!!!! Yay! Wouldn't it be awful to scarf down a bunch of calories and then think, "That wasn't really THAT good!" But if it was good, wow, it was worthy! Woo-Hoo!

Elise, I'm always really proud of how well to stick to the rotations. I wouldn't consider it an UUAD either. It's just a little blip that's all. I wouldn't worry, you had a really fun lunch with your DH and life is so short. Save the memory and forget the rest.

YamYam, can you write another song for Kimberly and the rest of us called, I Am Smokin'? We could use that. If Smokin' makes rhyming difficult, you can substitute Hot, Sexy, Georgeous, Drop Dead Beautiful, etc.

I put that shirt back on yesterday, I'm about 5 pounds higher than that picture right now, but not sweating the small stuff (it's really all small stuff) and trying to focus on the BIG PICTURE. My numbers are good, I'm into my "skinny" clothes (a teensy snug but I'll get there-as you can easily tell by my pic I hold my weight in my thighs-UGH) my swimsuit for vacation, I'm feeling good, and I'M STARTING JUDDD TOMORROW!!!!
