Dawn-- in the Canadian nutritional info for Wendy's (which I was checking b/c, hey, I want chilli too!)-- I noticed in the ingredients they use soya oil.

I know you have a soy thing-- not sure if they use it in the US version? Or if soya oil is an issue for you at all?

Oh lord! I never thought to look. I tell you it's in the most unlikely places. I'm NOT giving up my chili---thyroid be damned! Who would have thought? Sheesh!

My philosophy at this point is to limit it where I can and not buy any products that have it, but not worry too much about it when I eat out. There's soy flour in most bread, but I don't check the ingredients if I have a hamburger.

Thank you for thinking of me. I swear I could just . It appears I may have to actually start cooking if I want to control ingredients.

Now I have to go figure out if the bread I use at Subway has soy. That's my other go-to DD food.

ETA: Soy or soybean oil is in EVERY Subway bread except their english muffins. Grr. I think my new rule will be just not to have any soy within 6 hours of taking my thyroid meds, and limit it as much as possible.

I was just sitting here and thought I felt the ground shaking. Thought it was an earthquake, maybe. I was just about to call 911 when i realized it was just Soren telling Dawn that her Wendy's EVERYSINGLEDAY chili might have soy in it. No kidding, I gasped when I read that. (That's what this board can do to you.) Dawn, my condolences if it's true. Hope it's not.
Okay everybody, back to work.

Sorry, but honestly, the way MY day is going, that's what it would've been

What a downer. Sigh.

You know, back in my not-a-clue days I used to actually order soy items. I would order "Tofu and Vegetables" at a nearby Chinese restaurant and feel so virtuous. I drank soy milk. At least I have changed some things.

Will I take my precious Subway flatbread out of my diet? Thinking. I may limit it. Maybe what I need is to find a flatbread that doesn't include soy and make my own imitation Subway sandwiches at home. But where will that be found.... hmmmm. There is a flatbread sometimes on sale in the deli section of a local market. I will read that label with trepidation!!! Half the point of the Subway sandwich is that you get to go out to get it.

On the plus side, I just got back from dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, on a DD! I had Mexican lettuce wrap tacos for 250 calories! I'm ending the day at 548, with a meal out at Cheesecake Factory.

I took a picture, and will upload it into the DD Food Porn thread in a minute.
