Male Juddders?

Hi, I am new here and plan on starting Juddd on Sunday with my up day and going from there. I was explaining this to my brother and have recommended he come here to learn more. As I am reading posts, I don't think I haven't seen even one male Juddder! I was hoping he could read about some of the guys' experience with Juddding.Just wondering if there are any out there? Thanks.

There are, but few post. Ohioguy does. There seem to be lots of hubby/boyfriend/male relatives associated with the happy, chatty women here.
My hubby has been doing intermittent fasting with me since Feb, lost about 25 pounds. He usually has two down days and one or two medium days a week. He loves it, looks forward to down days, doesn't count at all on up days. He is a natural moderate carber (100-150g on up days), drinks wine regularly, and we keep our sugars low. He completely believes that it is a natural way to eat, very paleo/primal/hunter-gatherer. Works out lightly a few days a week. He lost the old spare tire really rapidly. He will eat straight protein if left to his own devices. I sneak veg in to meat dishes when I can, and down days he takes chia almond milk or yogurt with hemp hearts for breakfast, salad and protein for lunch, eats whatever I fix for dinner.
I think a lot of the men out there doing IF are bodybuilders, they tend to post more on IF boards targeted at that.

My husband started JUDDD last week and was very successful. He lost 5 pounds his first week and is at goal already. He is 5'11" and weighs 165 pounds. My concern is that he will lose too much. When he did Weight Watchers he got down to 150 pounds and looked sickly. He is doing DD Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I kind of fibbed and told him his DD calories were 800 because I knew he would lose fast.

My DH has been following JUDDD right along with me. We have been on the plan for 8 weeks and he is down 27 pounds and I am down 13.6. He and I are both now about 10 pounds from our goal and the weight is still coming off quickly for him!

My DH is Juddding with me. Losing quickly but doesn't post. He's 6ft 3 inches probably about 195 lbs now, was 220 lbs. His RA feels much better. He actually has trouble making his UD calories. He likes this woe and now I worry less about his chlosterole and mine.

I've posted before that my hubby always jumps in and does whatever program I'm doing at any given time, lol. He follows JUDDD loosely. He eats very little on DDs, but doesn't actually count calories, but keeps to the rotations. He doesn't count on UDs (like me). His weight is very steady, and he looks good.

JUDDD is a lovely WOE to live with, and it's even easier when your partner does it with you.

My husband has been doing it for a few weeks. Not "perfectly" if you ask me but does really well on DD and more loosely on UD (although he can have 3100 calories so he has a lot more leeway than most women). In 2 weeks or so he has lost around 9 lbs. So the rate is pretty good.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I did give my brother this website so he can come and lurk! Also, I will be telling him about what I am learning as I go. Gearing up to give this a shot! What can it hurt, right? Up day tomorrow then down on Monday. I am going to try the M, W, F, down days, T, Th, Sat, Up days and Sunday a mediocre day or whatever you call that! I am going to try 500 calories on Down days and the first couple of weeks not really worry too much about the Up days but will stay within reason and not binge! Does this sound about right for a beginner like me? Thanks, girls!

For a beginner like you there should not be any medium days. Just UD and DD. You really should do your Juddd calculations to at least see where your UD calories should be whether you choose to count them or not. It is very easy to under or over estimate the number of calories you are eating. Either one can easily keep you from losing. You should really do it " by the book" so to speak for the first 2-4 weeks.

Based on the book, Dr J definitely had male test subjects and incorporated their results into his overall plan.

We do have male JUDDD BUDDDs who join in some of the discussions with great enthusiasm...then fall silent.

My theory is there is so much estrogen floating around the JUDDD portion of the forum, the boys are all worried about catching cooties .
