my DDs are too dairy heavy, help!

I think I'm relying too heavily on dairy on my DDs and would love some ideas to correct it! Dairy is just so easy to get protein and low calories on the go!

I usually have a pure protein shake, some laughing cow cheeses, greek yogurt and coffee with cream. When I get the urge to cook, I'll make some veggies with butter. I don't really eat meat and I feel like most carb foods are too caloric to break down into tiny meals that will keep my blood sugar stable throughout the day. Help!

ooooorrr can someone tell me "there's no such thing as too much dairy"? Haha if I can hear that, I won't worry too much about it!

If you don't have any dietary restrictions limiting dairy, and you're losing well, and you're satisfied, I say there's no problem. I'd recommend taking a good multivitamin, just since there's not a lot of variety in your DD menu, but other than that, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thanks, KeirasMom! I think that because I live in Portland, OR where everyone is either Vegan or Paleo, I've started absorbing some of the "dairy is bad" vibes from my friends but for the life of me, I can't remember WHY they are so anti-dairy haha

A lot of people have dairy sensitivities and dairy can be mucous producing/inflammatory even without sensitivities/allergies, but if you tolerate it well, I see no reason not to enjoy it.

That said, most commercial dairy cows are pumped full of hormones and antibiotics to maximize their milk production and minimize chances of mastitis, so there is that consideration. If you can get organic that would be best. Grass-fed and raw is the gold standard, but also understandably expensive. Even if you could only do organic for the fluid milk you use, that would be better than nothing.

Ohioguy it really is awesome in Portland! My kids live there, we are a couple of hours out in the country. Lots of hippy chic! If the dairy is working for you and your losing I can't see why It would be a problem. Why don't you throw in a protein bar every now and then. I love Gen Soy chocolate brownie.

I love dairy and do not buy into the 'bad' thing....although, I have been there; macrobiotic, vegan, raw.
Dairy causes me no problems and really is easier on my system than anything.

I love dairy, and Calorie Countdown Chocolate Milk is my friend at 80 calories/cup. It makes a nice end to my DDs sometimes. It's also high in protein and has no added sugar.

I think most of my DD's consist of dairy. Cream, yocheese (cheap Greek ), cottage cheese. The fat keeps me more satisifed than protein. So, dairy it is!

I prefer not to have so much dairy so I have a jumbo whole "fried" egg (90); slice of sandwich ham (45), and coffee. (using a bit of Pam w/ egg). I eat most calories for breakfast and lunch. At first had trouble sleeping on empty stomach but not so much now.

Last but certainly not least, JUDDD is meant to relieve us of obsessing AND w all the vegans/paleos out here, OR has some of the best local dairy products.
