I do love DH, but...

He just ate not one but two chocolate croissants in front of me on a day I am fasting until 6.

And they have left a wonderful aroma in the whole house.

Off to open the windows, drink a cup of broth and make myself beautiful. Slipping into some tiny clothes should help.

My dh would open a beer, take a gulp, look at me and be all "oh. Sorry. Do you mind?" while I was doing HCG. YES! I DO mind but go right ahead. I chose to put myself I this situation. YOU shouldn't have to suffer. Ya big jerk with your amazing metabolism.

Your DH is a stinker, just like mine is sometimes. LOL

Well, truthfully, they know that our diet isn't being foisted off onto them, so they feel free, and I wouldn't have it any other way, except that occasionally I really do wish I could have it all.

I love your defense of heading off to make yourself beautiful and slip into some lovely clothing in a cute small size!!! Great counter-action! Reinforce your choice!

Despite wishing I could have it all, I know I can't have it all, so then making the choice between stuffing my face some more or getting to live my life at a smaller size is really easy to make, and I opt for the slimmer body, cuter wardrobe, and way of JUDDD!

It isn't always easy, but it's always worth it!!!!!

Precisely Pat.

I generally don't mind but after a rather large meal quite late last night I think my stomach had 'stretched'. I often feel hungrier after a large meal the day before.

But I am happy with my decision to fast until this evening.

As you will know it is our Queen's Diamond Jubilee and we are joining the whole town this evening for a lovely street party for charity. I shall enjoy everything on offer, as I have worked hard to be able to do just this kind of thing.

Kissa, have a blast tonight! I bet that is going to be fun!

My dear fiance keeps so much sugar in the house that it is a wonder that I survive as well as I do. He does the grocery shopping and all I ever get is broth, chicken breast, turkey and tilapia. Meanwhile, I look at this week's haul and he has purchased red velvet cake ice cream, dark chocolate reese's peanut butter cups, macadamia white choc cookies and chocolate covered almonds.

I "think" my DH is taking food outside to eat like chips and cheese when he knows it is a DD. I hear the frig and rustling in the kitchen but I never see him eating anything between meals. Maybe he is afraid I will take it away from him due to hunger.

My lovely man, who is already Ichabod-Crane skinny, loses weight every time I start a new WOE. He loses it effortlessly and faster than I do. Made me nuts for years But he has taught me something about not comparing myself and my challenges to those of anybody else. I yam what I yam what I yam. Now, in some ridiculous way, it gives me pleasure to see him eat things I choose not to eat today. It's like the closest thing to eating them myself.
That's on a good day, of course, and will never count when it comes to chocolate or pastry.

It must be a midwestern thing...my husband apparently believes that there is a national chip/salty snack shortage about to hit the US....this week he's brought home 5 bags of assorted chips...huh? And of course there's dip.....and those blasted hateful Ding Dongs.....offered to fix a big breakfast this morning (UD) and he said "no, I'm not hungry".

Go directly to a full-length mirror.

Stop, and take a long, long look at YOUR accomplishment.

Can the aroma of chocolate croissants possibly compare to that?

IF so...I would gladly trade your total loss for a year’s gift of crossiants from the bakery of your choice!

Well you countered with a good move, Cindy. My husband goes off into his game room to eat really tempting things, or eats them away from home. He's a sweetie about such things most of the time and I sure appreciate it.

I'm so proud of my husband, as he has dropped from 320 to 293 in the last year and he hasn't been really low-carbing 100% with me. His doctor is real pleased and he told his doctor how he has lost it. His doc isn't pro-Atkins long term, but can't argue with DH's numbers. Hubby eats bakery bread, rice and candy/forbidden foods whenever he wants them. But he has lost that 27# just eating the main meals I prepare 3xdaily, with very few modifications/additions to my menu. He's definitely liking the loose clothes this week, so maybe he'll get on board 100% ONE day. No harm in hoping!

LOL Cindy, you have the right attitude, along with many others here. There really isn't anything that compares to seeing our hard work and accomplishments, not even chocolate! But there are definitely some frustrating DDs caused by unknowingly innocent SOs. My dbf didn't realize it early on until apparently one DD he noticed I was staring at his food with a "crazed rabid look" (his words ) and since then I notice he always tries to eat tempting food away from me on DDs now.

He is mostly doing it for the other health benefits as he maybe has 15 lbs at most to lose. Of course he can eat as he wishes while at work and I can't smell it or hear it crunch lol. It wasn't the easiest 1/2 hour, but he is a natural skinny so he is entitled to eat what he likes. He is generally most considerate.

But it happened and I didn't cave.

It drives me more crazy when my guy wants to eat something I've just fixed myself for a DD. You can eat anything you want leave my food alone.

Hope you had a great time celebrating, Kissa. Our BBC America channel has had marathon coverage of the river pageant and other royal stuff all day today. I've watched some and TiVo'd the rest for later. I was in London during the Golden Jubilee. I just love your country so much. I'm thankful for BBCA letting us watch the celebrations from afar this weekend.

For any other Anglophiles out there BBCA is going to have live coverage of the service/carriage procession and balcony appearance Tuesday too.

Well done for not caving in - hope you have enjoyed the Jubilee!

I have that problem sometimes also - particularly because I do the cooking. I had to cook a fried breakfast for my husband & sons this morning while on a DD! The worst thing though is his habit of leaving an open bag of cashews in front of me on DDs, not on purpose I think!

Jennifer, I know what you mean. Sometimes, on my DD, my lovely man asks for a bite of something I'm eating. Not a chance, I say. If those calories are on paper, they're mine. All mine.

Good for you Kissa! I hope you enjoy the Jubilee.

I cook a full breakfast for my family every morning, dd or not--eggs, sausage, oatmeal for dh, bagels or somesuch for the kids. I fast on DD's, have a protein smoothie on UD's. At first, it was tough, but I'm used to it now.

Have a blast tonight! I know you will.

Have to agree with Pat. That little stinker!! DH has done things like that without thinking. Funny though that recently the tables were turned.

He was braver than I the last morning in PA before we left for the airport. He stepped on the scale! He gained 7 pounds on our vacation and was shocked. We had a 3.5 hour drive to the airport. We stopped for an early lunch at a lovely restaurant. He had a salad. I could see he was nervous about all that hard fought weight coming back so quickly. (he had lost 27 pounds since February).

I, on the other hand, decided I needed to make our travel day a comfortable UD. (since I wanted this first day home to be a DD.) I ordered a veggie burger (ate the whole bun) and an order of fries which turned out to be the best french fries I've ever had in my life! No regrets there! Then, just before our flight, we discovered a TGI Friday's sit down restaurant right near our gate. I had roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and brocolli and THREE glasses of Kendall Jackson chardonnay!

I find it impossible to sleep on airplanes no matter how darn long the flight is. But at least I wanted to be comfortable and not fidgety. It worked. I settled in, read a book and just enjoyed the flight while he snored away beside me.

Now I feel really good about my DD.

Love your idea about turning it around and trying on skinny clothes! You go, Girl!!!

My DH is supportive and doesn't feel I should cook on my DDs since I'm not eating what everyone else is having. I usually have protein shakes all day on my DDs so he's kind enough to either cook on my DDs or take the kids to eat out. Sometimes I go with them and sometimes I don't. Eating out is toughest for me. I'm learning though. Occasionally I'll just get tea or a diet soda and be fine (and drink my protein shake before or after) but other times I get a salad and veggies and maybe some grilled chicken on top. I seem to have a much harder time on my DDs if I include more carb-content on my UDs. That's when I tend to eat more real food on my DDs. I'm still working out the kinks in my eating plan but it sure is nice to have support (most of the time) from DH. He's even threatened to do it with me but when he tried he couldn't even last one DD lol. He's one that eats whatever he wants too. So not fair! There's always a pound of either M & Ms or whoppers in the pantry...sigh.

Chuckle...DH thinks he is JUDDDing with me because he alternates cereal and eggs for breakfast in the morning, and soup / sandwich as alternate day lunches. Dinner is not part of the equation. I did some figuring and he actually eats more calories on his DDs than his UDs. So far, he is losing at a rate of one pound/month. Ah well, he needs to lose a lot and anything is better than nothing.

Actually, my DH is pretty good-asks if it's a "fat day" or "skinny day" and tells me I look like I have lost weight.

I have been watching the jubilee with great interest. Being a first generation Anglo American on my Yorkshireman father's side (that's where Scotty comes from) I have great love and pride for our British "cousins"
