We are off to London today after a weekend of highs and lows.

Had a wonderful Birthday anded himself visit from a great friend but my FIL is fading fast.

Trouble is that we are travelling to France on Wednesday for a week. We have decided to go anyway as his other son and daughter are here. My DH has been diligent visiting him over the past 3 months since he injured himself. There is no more we can do really.

Tough times.

seabreezes! How is your elbow? Will you need therapy now? Hope you recover very quickly.

All best wishes for your family, Cindy.

I'm kinda hopeful after an UD resulted in only a .5 bounce. I've been able to chat with some other folks IRL about JUDDD and I think they are listening to me!

When I put my hands on my hips, they seem to have to travel further.

Thanks for asking. The elbow is supposed to be perfect now. Starting therapy on the fingers - quite painful. The doctor took the fixator out of the wrist.

Things can only get better!

Just don't let a car back into you!!

I posted to another thread but wanted to post here as well. I am usually not an emotional eater but I have had so much stress lately that may be effecting my weight loss. This morning I had to take my 15 1/2 year old dog, Sara, to the vet to have her put to sleep. She has always been healthy but in the last few months has lost weight and yesterday and today she didn't want to get up. She has been with us her whole life. I bred her and she was born a week after my husband and I got married.

In the lat 9 months, my husband lost his job, we moved from Illinois to Indiana, he started his own pet sitting business, my mom got sick and passed away last month, and today I lost Sara.

How do I stay on track with so much going on? Or do I just not worry about losing weight and just maintain until things settle down?

Cindy-sorry about your FIL. I hope you can enjoy your trip and things will be fine while you are gone

Tammy-Sorry about your dog Sara and all you have been going through. Remember to take care of yourself. If it's easier to get through all this not worrying about your weight then just maintain. You can pick up where you left off when everything settles down and you feel it's the right time. Sending hugs.

Oh, Tammy! That's so rough--your mom, too, omg!!!

I *would* say, don't worry about it, just take care of yourself...
But one never knows how long the grieving process is going to take,
or what else life will throw at you while you're already down.

Are you experienced at maintaining? If so, that is really great!
But I would have a back-up plan in case the weight starts creeping up.
I think something like Fast 5 can be helpful for maintaining and keeping things from getting too far off track (since it's still a form of IF...not too hard to go from Fast 5 back to JUDDD).

The majority of my weight gain started in 2006 when my boyfriend died (in August); then 2 weeks later my very beloved grandmother fell ill and died a week before Christmas. I gained 45lbs before I started feeling remotely normal again--I clearly remember the first time I enjoyed myself and was able to laugh was around late January; I took my son to see Spamalot!!! (I had been on antidepressants for a few months, and maybe they were finally kicking in, too.)

I went on to gain almost 100lbs total...and I was already unhappy with my weight (about 195lbs) when all this poop hit the fan. I weighed 135 as a teenager, and 143 right before I got pregnant in 1993, and then 160-180 for 12 years!!!

My big body not only makes me self-conscious, it reminds me of the terrible sorrow I experienced. I feel like getting my old size back will be almost like traveling back in time, and maybe it will be like starting over in some ways. (I hope that doesn't sound delusional!!! )

Anyway, I just wish my "depression weight" hadn't gotten so out of hand, and don't want to see it happen to anybody else!

Thank you Janette and PJ. I am really good at maintaining. I quit Weight Watchers and only gained 2 pounds in a year and a half before trying to lose again and then I found JUDDD and have lost 8 pounds. When my mom passed, I did more of a Fast-5 for about 5 weeks - didn't lose but didn't gain either. I will probably do that for the next week or so and then get back on JUDDD.

Yesterday my denim skirt slipped right off my hips and down to floor--at work!
I was so embarrassed, but also excited that I'd gotten so skinny, & I couldn't wait to tell my JUDDD BUDDDS about it!!!

OH DARN IT!!!

That didn't really happen--it was a dream!!!

I haven't had a denim skirt (or skinny hips) since the 80s...I don't even have a job!
But I do have my JUDDD BUDDDs!!!

I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that I've started dreaming about you guys...

Oh, I like that dream! And you know, if you build it they will come. Maybe you are dreaming your way toward the job, the skirt, and the skinny-ness!
Have a great day, PJ-the-gem.

Paying it forward is one of the greatest ideas ever.

Well, we knew it would happen, dear FIL died at 7 this evening. DH and I were enjoying a good meal and a bottle of great wine here in the Sommes, of which he would have approved. 95 years is a fair innings and he was fitt until the end of March. RIP.

Hey, everyone, thanks so much for all your very sweet posts! I'm doing very well, resting lots and taking it easy. I wanted to get back to JUDDDing earlier this week, but ... no. So, I'm aiming for this weekend, hopefully. Weight is holding, was up a little from the bloats (re: GAS ), so maybe Mr. Sirt isn't too out of whack.

Kissa - so very sorry for your family's loss. My deepest sympathies to you all.
