First week's progress and a thank you!

Good afternoon everyone,

I want to report my weight loss for my first week on JUDDD. But first I want to say thank you to each and every member on this site! You guys have helped out when I was at my lowest and most desperate. I have tried everything to get this weight off after gaining every single pound back from doing lc a few years ago and nothing to seemed to fit until I came to this part of the board.

In the past week, I have not binged once and you don't know how that is a miracle in and of itself. I feel like food is no longer the enemy and I actually prefer down days to the up days! Didn't think I would feel like that.

I feel this program is one I can do for life. I believe I have found my home! I have more energy and I feel less joint pain in my knees from arthritis. I even went for a walk several days last week and yesterday. I haven't had the emotional or physical energy for exercise in over a year. So again, thank you all for being here and supporting this awesome way of eating and living!!!

Now on to the main event. My weight loss for the first week on the program is 9.4 pounds!! I am thrilled and look forward to getting to know you all better and eventually reaching my goal weight with JUDDD.

Congratulations! I am also one who has had significant reduction of knee pain on this WOE and it's great. I'm glad you're already feeling the benefits kicking in. Oh and the weight loss is great too.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes and support! It really is overwhelmingly awesome. As I look at you guys stats I see I'm probably the largest person out here right now doing the program so I certainly don't expect this type of result every week but it sure makes it nice to start off this way. It's very motivational for sure!!!

On to week number 2!

That's an amazing first week!

There's nothing as exciting as great success. It motivates YOU, and it motivates US ALL, so thank you so much for posting this for us.

Are you doing low carb JUDDD or paleo-type or throwing caution to the winds and allowing some carbs? LOL Whatever foods you are choosing, you have had one heck of a ride this week! I love it!

Awesome awesome awesome!!! I just finished my first week on Sunday and had 9 lbs lost so we're right about the same! Wahoo! Good going! We may have started around the same time...we should be JUDDD buddds. ;-) I'm down 11 lbs now after 9 days. I hope you keep losing too! It's going to be great for us! I'm feeling less asthma problems and my overall swelling (edema in my ankles) has improved dramatically! I'm amazed and nothing else has helped and I've tried everything!

Yay!!!!

You guys are super supportive. Can't tell you what that means to me. When I say I was desperate, I mean it. My job does not cover weight loss surgery so I was contemplating going down to Mexico to have it done. I just didn't see any other way out for me. Now I see I can make peace with food and learn to love myself again.

Pat - I was going to incorporate lc into the mix but I (1) didn't want this to feel like another diet that I will just become resentful over and rebel against and (2) I have tried to go back to lc again and again without success so I'm throwing caution to the wind and enjoying all the foods I used to consider taboo or I would binge over but I try to focus on slow acting carbs since I am diabetic.

Michelle - Congrats to you!!!! Isn't it wonderful to have dual benefits from this woe and not just weight loss? I would love to be JUDDD buds and support each other. We are off to a great start and know we will both reach our weight loss goals.

WTG to both Lisa and Michelle! Those are phenomenal first week losses. And to already be experiencing the non-scale victories of less pain and inflammation is even better.

Congrats to you more! Hi JUDDD BUDDD!!!

I am very excited to even have a shadow of a chance of losing all this weight I have been trying to get off for years. I got down to 150 once (from 219 at the time) and it was SO HARD keeping it off and I ended up adding a few lbs back on and maintained more easily at 165-170lbs for 2 yrs of starving myself and daily running (40+ miles per week, ack!). Now I am losing and I am an exercise BUM! Hehe. I haven't been able to lose at all yet this year except this way. I am so excited I have too many words (I would never be speechless anyway) and can't express enough how glad I am to have found this forum and a way to make this WOE work for me. It's hard but everything worth doing has some "hard" to it so this is definitely doable "hard" for me. Especially since it plays to my impatient nature of wanting the weight off yesterday.

I understand about not going hard on low carb on UDs - mentally it took me a while to wrap my mind around it and I am just super-motivated this week because my daughter's graduation is on THursday and I hadn't seen her since Dec and didn't want her to see all the weight I had gained. But in the long run, some days per week I just have a free day and eat what I want on an UD, I just keep my portions reasonable and try very hard not to stuff myself. It's keeping me sane. Yesterday was one such day...today=DD for damage control hahaha.

I'm excited that maybe I can get my size 10's and 12's off my closet shelf soon! YIPEEE!!!! I haven't worn them since 2010~.

Anyhoo, we are ROCKING this WOE! Let's keep it up!!!! Any challenges over the holiday weekend?

-Michelle

P.S. Thanks Tina and Whitlin' - so sweet of you to congratulate me. I promise I wasn't trying to hijack the thread TOO much. It's all about LISA!~!! I promise!

Lisa I am delighted that you have 'thrown caution to the winds' and are embracing all foods again. For those who have had that 'diet mentality' for so long it can be so incredibly freeing.

That is not to say that I don't agree with LC, Vegan, Paleo or whatever way you chose to JUDDD, but for some of us the freedom to eat anything after years (almost 11 for me) of eating 'differently' to everyone else is overwhelming. And makes me happy.
