Ugh...I hope this is just "weather weight"

I went up 3, maybe even 5 or 6lbs a couple days ago.
It's been so "yoomid"!!!

It's not unusual for me to swell up on humid days; it usually goes away overnight but no luck yet...sometimes cool showers help...a/c too, but I'm not ready to start paying for that! Maybe I'll go hang out at the library for a few hours today!

Anybody else getting Humidity Bounces?

I DO! lol my weight always seem to go up a few on the hot hot days. After it cools down it is gone. I gained 7 pounds on our trip to FL in April, and I knew I did over eat. I lost 4 pounds overnight as soon as we were home.

Jenny, I tend to really retain water when it's humid, too. Right now it's 85% humidity, down from 90% when I got up this morning. UGH, just gross. And it's slightly overcast right now so it'll take a while for the humidity to go down. It's been staying pretty much in the 30% range and that's tolerable for me even though it's been in the low 90's for a while.

Drinking lots of water and a shot or two of Bragg's apple cider vinegar water helps me flush it out. I'll be peeing my head off later on this afternoon.

My hands swell, but so far, scale has stayed steady.

Lemon water REALLY helps flush out the extra fluid. So you have no a/c? I think if I didn't I'd see some bounce too.

Huh. Interesting. I'll have to see if I notice this.

We do have the air on because my DH is waaaay sensitive to humidity--especially at night going to bed. It can feel perfectly nice and lovely to me with the windows open and he wants them closed and the air on. Sigh.

But I will be paying attention and see if I notice any shifts with the heat and humidity. Thanks for bringing this up! I can imagine this being the cause of some frustration over the next few months if I didn't know why.

Yes, I have this problem too, and am also dealing with a couple days of heat/humidity water rentention. I think despite drinking my usual amount of water, all that sweating the past two days got me a little dehydrated because I'm insanely thirsty today and have been guzzling water like there's no tomorrow. Hopefully the water weight will be flushed out in a day or two.

We had a thunderstorm last night, the humidity broke & it cooled off a lot...today I am down 3 of the 5lbs. Feet don't look fat, hands aren't itchy....yay!

Yesterday I took extra potassium, drank lots of green tea & lemon water, and ate very low carb. Peed a lot but puffiness didn't seem to go down much. The change in the weather really did it!

is the whole summer going to be like this?!!!

stoopid weather changes! DISLIKE!

I bounced up with it too. When that happens I just drink lemon water (with a bit of stevia for "lemonade") all day. Flushes me out, but only as much as the weather will allow. At least that way I don't retain EXTRA.

Well, maybe not on the east coast but sadly for us in the southeast its another 3 months of it, day in day out. Really wacky weather in the whole country this year. Family in Kansas complaining of terrible drought, high winds. Food prices will go up even more if there is drought in much of farm country.

Yep, add humidity to the mix and this gets really frustrating for me. BUT thanks to all the encouragement from my JUDDD BUDDs, I know this too shall pass. I just down more water to try to flush it out!

humidity finally dropped yesterday, as did 4 pounds. Of course that just gets me back to where I was, but I'll take it!

Same here. Humidity completely went away yesterday, and the weight was back down this morning, and yesterday was an UD. There are just way too many factors that affect water retention in me that it drives me batty sometimes, but in a way it's helped because I don't really have much of a reaction to daily weight fluctutations anymore.

UD for me too yesterday-how suprising to see such a drop on the scale after all that!

It's 66 degrees in my house right now!!! Beautiful!!!!!
Weather Channel says the humidity is 55%, which I guess is still considered a bit high, but it sure feels lovely...even a bit chilly!

I was 271.2 yesterday, had an UD, am 271.0 today.
So the "humidity" weight seems to be gone, but still up a couple pounds and no loss this week yet. Could be TOM is approaching.

As per usual DD, I'm going to drink lots of water, lemon water, tea (green + hibiscus), going to exercise, probably won't eat until about 5pm...so maybe I'll get lucky with this cool day and see a lower weight this afternoon!!!

(Yes, I weigh excessively! But I often see my lowest weights of the week on DD afternoons )

interesting...

TOM is here at the moment which was certainly part of my gain. I went from 186.8 to 195.2!!! YIKES! Part was humidity, but a few pounds were certainly TOM!

Today is a DD so I expect 186.8 or better on the scale tomorrow (a girl can dream!) This morning I was finally back in the 188 range.

I weigh morning and night when I weigh. Night is like clockwork....2 pounds more than I'll see the next morning. I've never tried mid day weigh ins....

Re: the midday weigh-ins: I'm not saying they're a good idea, but I just can't help myself when I know I've gone to the bathroom 8-12 times since the last time I ate anything!

I weigh at night too; it results in less anxiety over what I'll weigh in the morning--it's rarely less than -2lbs. This morning was -4.2lbs!
