Thanks so much - thought I would give it a try....

What flavor does cardamom add? I have never had that spice to my knowledge.

It's traditionally added to lassi drinks.

If you've ever had masala chai, you've probably had cardamom. There are many other spices in it (cinnamon, cloves, black peppercorns, star anise, sometimes ginger), but cardamom gives it that distinctive flavor & aroma.

It smells sort of peppery/lemony, and it goes well with cinnamon & cloves. Also coconut/coconut milk.
Back in the days when I used to make carrot cake (sigh), I added a bit of cardamom, and that gave it a very unique flavor.

A little bit of cardamom in oatmeal cookies is very good.

Oh!!! DROOOOOOOOOOLLL!!!!

Probably interesting in oatmeal, too!
I'd put it in rice pudding, as well.
