Today was going to be a DD but after discussing our plans for Memorial Day tomorrow (mostly travel) I decided today was the day to be able to eat the BBQ we are planning. So tomorrow is a DD. I find DDs to be much easier while traveling.

So I'm doing Atkins foods today...well like most every UD...

B: scrambled eggs w/egg beaters (need to use them up) and fresh bits of bacon mixed in w/ a sprinkle of shredded cheddar, coffee (new flavored kind - butter toffee, yum!) and HWC.

L: not sure yet maybe pork chop w/salad and left over veggie medley from last night

D: BBQ rib eye steak and mashed cauliflower (the rest of the family will have mashed taters) and grilled asparagus or stir fried cabbage in bacon drippings, or both! Oh and homemade LowCarb beef gravy.

Dessert?: maybe hot cocoa (homemade lc) w/ whipped cream.

B one whole egg and one egg white, fried over easy, with one strip of bacon and three mugs of coffee, each with plenty of half & half cream.

L huge salad of mixed lettuces, big tomato, half a cucumber, and both raspberry vinaigrette dressing and Newman's Own low cal ginger dressing.

So far, calories are at about 350.

S will be a ton of sliced green pepper, onion, and zucchini, mixed with shirataki noodles and spaghetti sauce, topped with grated parmesan cheese.

Scratch that, opting for a dd today anyways, feeling very tired and not like celebrating.

Tomorrow I hope I'm feeling more rested, but my kids brought a lovely cold to the house from school so I guess it's my turn to get it. Ugh.

B: same as above
L: protein shake
D: protein shake

Have a great day all!

Good for you on the success thus far. I had Mushroom and Barley soup last week, not on Juddd, just to have. I stick barley in every soup i make.

My first day on Juddd and its a dd.
Dont know what to expect really.

Well not sure now if dd is 300 or 500 Because its my first day on Juddd.

If its 300 then:

B- coffee x 2
L- laughing cow cheese, apple,
D-cup of chicken broth soup with a small can of chicken breast, no fat yoghurt.

Can someone chime in regarding the 500 cals on dd induction phase? Im sure i read it somewhere but cant find it now.

If its 500 cals, then thats another ballgame.

A 550-calorie DD here -

60 - 1/2 apple
240 - Subway Veggie Delight 6 inch
0 - Coke Zero
110 - 1/2 of Zipp's idea of guacamole/salsa/sour cream on salad
140 - 4 ounces of Kozy Shack chocolate pudding

Mitsa, for MOST of the WOMEN who want to lose on this way of eating, Dr. Johnson found that a way to simplify, especially in the first two weeks of learning, was to to just shoot for 500 calories every other day. For men, of course, it wasn't as likely to be that simple, and they were more likely to need to use the calculator. You are smaller than most women who would begin the program, so it makes sense that you might consider smaller DD calories, even from the first. That doesn't mean you have to - either way will likely give you results! Do what feels right to you.

Thank you to Dawn for suggesting yesterday the smart phone check from the restaurant. Right - if I hadn't been so sure I could find the calories whenever I needed them, I would have done that and realized the site was down BEFORE I ate. Btw, I was only up 1/2 pound this morning, so I think I hit it pretty close after all. (luck!)

Scratch that. Meat was bad. DH is picking up. I'm having chili (again!) and a baked sweet potato. I'll probably still have my strawberries and splenda later.

Mitsa, shoot for 500 and if you feel satisfied with less, that's great. That extra 200 calories can be a lifesaver if your desk plant starts looking tasty!

UD

B: 1T EVCO, black tea
L: beef tendon pho
D: 2 eggs over-easy, spicy ground beef chili with asiago fresco topped with minced onions and fromage blanc, chicken salad with feta & artichokes
S: square of dark chocolate, homemade chocolate protein shake with 1 egg

I'm beyond stuffed and I haven't had the shake yet, which puts me at only 1260 calories. Even if I have the shake, it'll only bump it up to 1600. I'll need 200 more calories after that...just not happening today. This is so abnormal for me. Must be because I ate over my DD and went up to 625 calories yesterday from ovulation hunger.

Brunch: Lite English Muffin toasted with ICBINB spray and one hard boiled egg sliced, coffee with splenda and SF creamer

Dinner - Seafood Queasadilla (Low carb/high fiber tortilla, 2 artificial crab legs and 1 WW White Cheddar triangles folded over and nuked for 45 seconds)
Green beans almondine (whole package - I was STARVING)

Snack - a piece of chocolate cake from the Chinese bakery that someone from my family had for breakfast, ate all the cream out of, and left a small piece behind. Um, yeah - like THAT was going in the garbage.

Thanks so much for the advice. It makes sense to me. Anyway, if i go 2 weeks and doing the calories and not lost anything, then i will adjust accordingly.
