A hit a new Low today of 165.5 Now at first I wanted to get back to my old weight of 174 the I got down to 172 I said ok that is it. Well Juddd and the scale had different plans for me. I never had the problem of keep losing weight Do I let my body stop when its ready or do I stop it by eating more...can't wrap my brain around this one. What cha thing?

I personally would just roll with the flow. Maybe your body likes a different goal weight than you do and it will be happy when it gets there.

That happened to me, and I just gradually found myself eating more on my UDs. Now my weight stays pretty stable, but well under my "goal". I think my body likes it here just fine. If the scales creep a little too much, I just cut back a bit on my UD calories a day or two, and back down it comes.

You're not the only one who found they continued to lose weight to BELOW their goal weight on JUDDD and had to figure out how to make it stop.

First of all, decide if your current weight actually is where you want to maintain yourself. I do notice on this site that many people have goal weights that are pretty heavy for their height. Not saying this is you at all, but just that many of us have been heavy for a long time and really don't know how slim we should be, so don't know what weight to set as a goal.

Of course, the advice is to eat more to stop the weight loss. More calories, until you get into the area of not losing/not gaining anymore. Just some normal JUDDD fluctuations, but mostly the same area week after week. It'll be necessary to keep an eye on the scale to know that all of your weeks have a weight average that is about where you're wanting to stay. (Don't pay much attention to any one day's weight.. just the weight that each week averages out to be.)

Some like to continue with quite low DDs and add their additional calories to their UDs, making those days even fuller and richer than they were before. This path still keeps that huge spread between the Up and Down calories, and keeps promoting the highest metabolic function.

Others are perfectly happy with their UD calorie number and just add some extra calories into their DDs, making those very comfortable and fuller as well. That narrows your spread between your days, but makes all of your days pretty generous, calorie-wise, and that feels better for some folks.

You get to choose. Congratulations of your accomplishment! Welcome to the world of maintenance!!!

Love that Kristin, oh that it were that simple.

Kj I love your dilemma, I think you know what to do, up you cals on either Up or Down days, or a little on both.

Or learn to love the weight you are.

Oh it is so tough doing JUDDD, lol.

Wow! Great problem to have.

How do you feel you look? Do you feel strong? Lots of energy? Sleeping well?

If you are ok with how you look and feel, don't feel you look too thin or gaunt, and want to see what your body wants to do, go with the flow. If you feel you are looking unhealthy, then start bumping those calories until you stop losing.

What are your numbers right now?

I hope I put up the quote correctly lol. I was just looking at what my maintenance numbers will be and was not happy. It was something like UD 1427 DD 735. And I was wondering if when I go to maintenance I could just keep my DD at 300 and up my UD from 1500 to 1800 or so. Otherwise it would feel horrible to me, worse than being on a calorie restricted diet everyday but I am taking from Pats post that what I am thinking may be doable!

Muffabuff, I'm in maintenance, and am happy to continue eating 600 calories on DDs because my UDs can be pretty caloric and satisfying. Also, keeping the calories pretty low seems to trigger me in some good psychological way. I FEEL really good about myself and how much control I maintain on those days, while knowing I can let loose on my UDs.

You must be pretty short to have those numbers. I'm grateful for every inch I have, lol!

I'm 5' 8" and a little bit, and my lowest weight as an adult ever was 145, and I still had extra in the thighs, and didn't look unhealthy.

I have never had much energy..thats something that i missed out on. I am pretty strong and my sleep issues are health related. I am not trying to lose anymore weight and am pretty much happy where I am at but some of my fat repositioned itself from the last time and there are a couple of outfits that I cannot get into. I can't remember the last time I was at this weight and am amazed and wondering how low can I go. I don't want to get caught up in that b/c last time when I did that and I could not get lower I ended up gaining it back. I am happy where I am at and how I eat and I am sure that when I start to look to thin or gaunt my dh will be screaming at me to stop. I love Juddd!

I think I was using 35% wt loss/maint so I went in put in 50% maintenance and it said 900/1800 I had been eating about 600-800 on dd and 1800-2000 on ud which feels about right for me.

In this case, I would just keep on with what you are doing. Maybe raise the DD's a little if you want to stop losing. Or just keep in maintenance mentally, and let the scale do what it will.
