Going out to eat at the restaurant tonight, I just looked up the nutritional information so I could log it on *** and see what I had to work with for lunch. Ouch, what an eye opener.

I usually get the Chicago steak (687 calories) but instead I will opt for the Sirloin (335 cals)
I usually get the side of fries (680 calories!) plus veggies (248) but instead I'll go with the baked potato (402) and veggies.

The reason we're going to this place is that my husband wanted to make me a birthday cake and I figured instead of dealing with leftover cake at home, we should just go out to eat and do a one time dessert. Well looking through the dessert calories (600 cals for ice cream?! 921 cals for a sundae?!) I decided on the "smallest brownie" at 158 cals.

Even with these substitutions the meal still comes in at 1400 cals It's ok since I still have plenty of other calories for the rest of the day, but if I just ate my "usual" without regards to calories it would have been 2536 cals, so in one meal over my whole daily up day calories. 2500 calories, that's insane... that's a steak, some fries and veggies, and a dessert. Never would I have guessed it was even remotely that high, I'm so glad I checked the nutritional info before I went

Valerie, enjoy that chili!

My breakfast plans changed as well. A coworker brought in Mexican bread and pastries. I had a cream cheese/jalapeno bolillo (roll) topped with sesame seeds. I'm still working out the calories for this delight. It was scrumdiddlyumptious!

Okay, so my eating has been weird today. All my plans changed.

B: Jalapeno/cream cheese bolillo with black coffee
L: Baby baguette with mustard, provolone, turkey pepperoni; 1 apple with 2 T chocolate PB2; 1 potato chip (turns out you CAN just eat one!)
S: 3 squares of Lindt dark chili chocolate
(If I had TOM, I'd think he was coming for a visit)
D: DH is baking a whole chicken, so I'll have a large piece of baked chicken breast with skin, and whatever veggie and starch he feels like throwing together.

There will be Crystal Light margaritas with tequila.

If I feel the need for more chocolate, I'll have some of the Trader Joe's organic chocolate truffle bar I found--NO SOY! Woohoo! Sorry Lindt and Ghirardelli, you've been replaced!
