Love that chicken at Popeyes!

So - new delicious DD find, ladies and gents. 3 piece naked tenders at Popeye's with a side order of green beans and a Diet Coke. Delicious meal at 210 calories! The chicken has a really nice spice, was tender and juicy - needed no dipping sauce or anything extra. (The meal comes with a biscuit, but I bit the bullet and gave that to my son, as I hadn't saved the calories for it. )

I love Popeye's! I've had their fried chicken.....didn't know they had "naked" chicken! I'll have to try that. Unfortunately, the closest Popeye's is in Nashville one hour from me.

I seriously would order this even on an up day (and eat the darn biscuit, too!) It was THAT good. The green beans were really delicious as well. This was not an "ok, that will do..." meal. It was a "Hot Dayum, I found something TASTY!" meal!

No - unfortunately, which was why I had to give it away....

3 tenders = 170
Small side of Green beans = 40

The biscuits are a shocking 260 cals EACH (and my oldest son ate 3 of them....but then again he is 12 and growing like a weed, the calories mean nothing to him, which is how it should be!)

But the Louisiana Leux meal is supposed to come with a baguette at 90 instead - which would have been much better....apparently this store didn't get the memo, though. Still wouldn't have had the calories for it today, though, so it's all good.

Honestly the green beans were SO good, too that I can see eating a large container of those by themselves for a DD meal at 120 calories.

Gee, all of our Popeye's left us!

We have a BBQ place called Ray's that has the best green beans that I have ever eaten in my life. I think I will by a batch and have some lean beef for my next DD.

Oh how I looooooove Popeye's. Even when I was keeping carbs to under 30 a day I'd have my Popeyes 40 carb meal each Sunday (not naked tenders, lol!). I have had it every week and am still 46 lbs down. On JUDDD, I am even eating our leftover biscuits (DH and I don't eat them with the meal and I had been pitching them) with sausage for up day breakfast. They are not good bang for the calorie buck, but the naked tenders are. The mashed potatoes are also very low cal and the good news for me is that all that chicken protein balances out the carb effects and, if one is sensitive to those, it's far better on the system than pizza or pasta.

Can you tell I have a love affair with Popeyes? We moved to New Orleans when I was a teen and from that point forward I've had to find a Popeyes wherever I move.

The last time I ate popeyes but I wasnt eating the tenders I bloated in the ankles and put on a lot of water weight had to go to bed with my feet up till the swelling came down do u think they salt it? Maybe the tenders would be better since they dont have a coating. Love the cute little plastic thingys that the sides come in use those for Christmas crafts.

My husband and I will both often gain a pound of water weight on Mondays after eating Popeyes Sunday night (2 pieces white mild with mash, not that I know it by heart or anything ) so yes, it is quite salty. It always goes away the next day and sometime I gain nothing.

THANK YOU for this suggestion!!! I had it last night and the tenders were really delicious!!

Of course, I succumbed to the biscuit, so my dinner ended up being closer to 400 calories, but it sure tasted awesome.
