Flax Milk!

I found this product I read about on Hungry Girl called Good Karma Flax Milk.

The unsweetened type has only 25 calories and 1 carb for 1 cup, it's got a good taste (very slight taste of vanilla to me) and it's creamy like whole milk. Not being a big fan of almond/coconut milk I was happy to be able to find something I like the taste of and is low in calories. I have been buying Calorie Countdown fat free milk but really didn't like the ingredients in there. It also comes in vanilla and original for higher calories.

This product has "pronounceable" ingredients and is high in omega 3s!! Give a search online to read about it!

And no soy! Where'd you find this gem?

Never mind, I found the store locator. Unfortunately, the closest I can find it is about 100 miles away.

Maybe order online? I'm wondering if it comes as a shelf product, too, like almond and coconut milks do?

I wonder if a person could make this. I'm sure I will never see it in the store.

Hmmm, there is a store that carries it in the town where dh works. I may have to give it a try. I rarely drink milk because of the calories. And I have healthy raw milk available to me everyday. :/

Found a Whole Foods just 12.8 miles from me that carries it. Will check it out this weekend. 3 left turns and 1 right turn, and I'll be there! Thanks, Beeb

I checked the website, and you can buy it online. I go to a nearby health food store where they carry it. This particular health food store is very particular and nit-picky about their products being healthy, so this must be a good product. Ill have to give it a try.

I got that post from Hungry girl too and have been so intrigued. Glad to hear it has a good taste and texture. I imagine it will slowly gain popularity and end up in most grocery stores just like almond milk.

My Walmart carries the vanilla flaxmilk. It's about 50 calories a cup. Too sweet to me to drink straight, but I love to put it in smoothies or in brewed chai tea.

What section is it in?

After hitting submit, I feel like a dummy.... You are going to say "in the milk section, of course"

Right?

Looks interesting, thanks!! The one I got only has 25 calories in comparison to the the homemade at 55 calories. Still a good value for a cup of goodness!

This is really nice to know, Linda! I never heard of it and like you, am not so fond of almond milk and can't get the Hood locally to even try it. I'll have to see if our Natural Grocer or Walmart carry it.

The store locator didn't work for me, so no idea if there's anyplace close. But I doubt it. I'm in the middle of nowhere.

My Walmart did have it tonight but it had 55 calories in a cup. It had cane sugar in it. So is there one without the cane sugar?

I think I will try making some as soon as my vitamix comes.

Was it the Good Karma brand? The Original and the Vanilla, which does have cane juice (not cane sugar) in it has 60 calories, not 55 calories. And the one I have has only 25 calories and is unsweetened. No cane juice in this one.

Google Good Karma Flax Milk and you will be able to bring up the nutritional facts for all 3 products; Unsweetened, Original and Vanilla.

For those on the easts coast, Wegmans has the good kharma brand. So do most whole foods. I'm looking foward to trying it - I LOVE flax!

I just bought one at Grocery Outlet. I did add some Stevia sweetener to it because it was too bland for me. It did wonders. I'm glad I bought it.

Where did you find it in Grocery Outlet? Is it in the milk section?

For anyone in Canada, Bulk Barn carries it - in Canada it is called Flax Delight and Bulk Barn has a 15% off discount right now on it.
