I think you can work toward higher UDs as you go along, Kimberly. There may come a time when more changes are needed during your WL, and you don't want to have to lower UDs anymore than you currently have. To eat more would be wonderful - you don't want to end up eating less and less. You want to be able to eat more and still lose or maintain. Many of us have found we can eat hundreds more during maintenance than we could during WLM, and this occurred after JUDDD worked its healing magic on us.

Kimberly I am so pleased that you are losing again. You were very brave to keep up with your experiment while gaining like that.
![]() ![]() ![]() My heart goes out to you for the stress you were going through with the loss of your MIL. I am struggling with similar stress just now. I know that you will keep on JUDDDing like the star you are and if, in the future, you need to adjust your calories again, then you will. ![]() |

Oh thank you for this sterling!!!! I am at that point now too!!! I hit my new low of 170 then the scale started climbing. I have been at 175, 175, 175, 175......oh sorry broken recorded there.........like my scale lol!!! Every once in a while I might see 173 or 170 again but the next day right back to 175!! The inches loss had quit too, so it is a true stall. I keep telling myself its my body, recalculating and taking a break. But its so frustrating! First month results were wonderful, great, better than I imagined. Coming up on my second month and the results not so much!!!
I really needed your post!! I know I am not the only one!!!! So thank you and I am so very very happy for you!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!!!

Kimberly - so glad things are working for you. Stalls are just no fun at all. I know it is our nature to want to fix things right away. I think, like Pat, our bodies need a break, a regrouping of sorts after a large loss. It is so hard to stay motivated during times like these. I also am a believer in higher rather than lower calories. You are doing everything right!
Tanya - yes, hang in there. My second month was crap; actually my first two weeks on JUDDD were stellar then everything came to a halt. I think I lost 2 pounds for the whole of April and then things started moving again. It is easy to question everything when you see the same numbers day after day after day. Just keep doing what you are doing. That's what everyone told me and next time I enter a stall (and I know I will) I just need to remember that in my body's time, not my mind's time, things will move again.

I am so happy to hear that this is working for you, Kimberly!!!
I've been doing JUDDD "wrong" this time (800/1800 instead of 500/2100, though sometimes I do 800/2000) but so far am losing great so I think there is enough of a swing between high and low there to do some good. I was just reading part of the book again last night too and Dr. J. says something about having "enough" of a swing and I was surprised because the down day calories he mentioned didn't seem as low as I would have thought to still get that JUDDD magic working. I need to go find that passage! At any rate, it's wonderful to read this post!

Kimberly, been gone all day and just finding your post at 2am!!! HAVE to tell you how happy I am for you. I remember a very long time ago getting so discouraged because my losses were sooooooo slow and posted about it here. Yam Yam and Nancy gave me great advice at the time, which was to try raising my DDs a bit, you know testing the waters, and that's what I did and it worked!!! The last thing I wanted to do was lower my UD, because I remembered Pat talking about not ruining the metabolism and wanting to have as many calories as I could when I started maintenance. You know I found it all very sound advice and when I began maintenance I raised my DD number from about 550-650 to 750-850 (even 900 some) and my UDs from 1600 to around 1800 and even 1900. I have ended up losing another lb. so far, and happy as cab be. Hope my words encourage you too!!!
So very sorry about your family loss. Those are rough times. I worry daily about my Mom because of her failing health. Traveling tomorrow (later this morn actually) to see her for Mother's Day. Hope yours will be special. Love you sweet JUDDD BUDD.![]() Phyl ![]() |

im glad my experimenting helps anyone lol. as ive said before, im a juddd believer but i just thing its not the same for everyone.
i do have one extra thought to add to my testing; i think upping my calories worked so well because i kept my dd calories so low for introduction. THEN i upped them. some people eat at the 500 calories and for them, that is already over 20/30% so bumping it more could be a bad idea. for new comers with a lot to lose i would suggest eatting as little as you can on dds for intoduction and then moving up. and yes, i stated this was made easier for me due to my higher allotted uds. but i personally know that if i ate all those calories i wouldnt have lost so fast. i really hope it keeps working for ya! |

Oh hi guys~ I have been all over the place lol.. To much info i think on my mind.. I got as far as 190 then had a huge bounce up to 194... and stayed there.. Ya know.. one thing i have noticed is all the folks here who have "bm" issues.. I know now for 4 days not goin is goin to effect things... so i am staying off my scale for a few weeks.. I started Curves today and i am now just goin to track my inches.. its mostly cuz i realize that no matter what that dang scale says.. its what i see when i look in the mirror that matters now.. I am goin to work on getting fit no matter how that scale wants to bounce.. I am soo excted again.. about making posative changes in my body and thats goin to help me big time with JUDDD.. I will JUDDD for the rest of my life cuz its been an amzing journey.. and i know it works... I also think my body is trying to rest which is hard to handle when i watch every day the numbers,, so i am doing this for me.. I will lose this flab and look FAB~
I love you girls! and Guys too ![]()

Hi Kimberly!Have you tried magnesium for the plumbing issue??? It works like a charm for me. I take one every single night before bed. NOW Magnesium Citrate - Customer Reviews at Netrition.com This is basically where I am right now. I am taking a break maintaining eating 700/1700 and pretty much enjoying life. I have so many things to do in the next few weeks and thought if I go over on DD or UD, I am not going to beat myself up. I am down 18 almost 19 lbs and for that I am very grateful! No need for me to stress over my slow losses, if I hadn't have tried this WOE, I would still be spinning my wheels! I have been exercising throughout, but have decided to add a few more kettlebells and see if I like it. Will update when I get a chance to keep everyone in on my latest!
