I WANT CHOCOLATE!!!
I am a big emotional, hormonal mess today. TOM is on the way! There are changes that occur with my body that let me know, but the biggy is when all I can think about is chocolate. It hit last night. Today is a DD and I usually don't eat until lunch, I just drink coffee and water but by 8:30am I had my protein bar, not a good sign for the day. I called my hubby for a pep talk. I just finished lunch. I will have popcorn mid-afternoon and then this evening I will have my chocolate skinny cow ice cream sandwich and coffee. That is the plan!

Just wanted to give some
![]() Melissa. Most of us get very hungry pre-Tom, and I tend to allow myself more calories then if I need it.Another low-cal ideas to get your chocolatey fix is hot cocoa. -Swiss Miss diet hot cocoa and/or -make your own with unsweet. almond milk (35 cal.) with cocoa powder, stevia, dash of salt, vanilla, etc. |

I agree with Sophie/Cat.. if you want some chocolate, go for it. Just figure out how to fit that flavor into your calories for the day. I believe there is a Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate that is only 25 calories per cup! Can't beat that.
Also, is anyone living where they can buy Canfield's Diet Chocolate Fudge Soda? I could get that years ago, and I drank it even when I was skinny. It was fabulous. Now they don't sell it around here. Pour it in a tall glass, add a very small scoop of diet vanilla ice cream, and have a chocolate ice cream soda for very, very few calories! Yum! We do have to control our calorie consumption on this plan, but it doesn't dictate what foods we can fit into our calorie limits, so chocolate appears pretty darned often on my calorie chart! ![]()

Also, if you get a bar of Lindt 85% dark chocolate (most grocery stores and walmart carry this), you can have a good sized square of it for just under 60 calories. Since it's a dark chocolate with intense flavor and less sugar, it can be nibbled and savored slowly.... preferably with a cup of coffee or tea

I keep my Ovation Chocolate covered cappuccino sticks handy for chocolate fixes on DDs. 30 cal/ 2 sticks. TJ Maxx carries usually them.
Thank you to whomever posted them originally. They are a life saver some days. |

Thank you ladies for the encouragement. I just had my afternoon popcorn and now four more hours at work. I definitely work chocolate into my day on UDs and DDs, most of the time. I will end my day with the skinny cow ice cream sandwich and coffee.

This is only my second DD and I'm craving chocolate, too. I had my hazelnut coffee with lite cream and splenda for breakfast, cheese stick for snack, and tuna with light mayo for a total of 382. Problem is, it's only 3:30ish. I got off work early today and bed time is so far away to go without anything else.
![]() I have some Atkins Enduldge bars (160 calories), I was thinking of eating half of one later this evening which would bring my total to 462. Maybe? |

Early on, I used to rely on those Pure Protein bars (from Walmart) in Chocolate Deluxe flavor. They were perfect on DD because they had so much filling protein and under 200 calories. I'd eat them slowly - nibbles - with a cup of coffee or tea and it was very satisfying on DD. Sometimes I'd do like you mentioned and eat half at one time, half later before bed. |

I know it's not candy, but if meringue might help in the future, Netrition sells sugarfree chocolate meringue cookies - they come down to like 2 calories or so each... nibble on a couple when the need comes up. Or just keep some chocolate chips around and let one melt in your mouth when you need it... one at a time to savor really wouldn't be bad... as long as you have self-control.

Some DDs I have Almond Breeze chocolate and Protein Shake Nectar Sweets Chocolate Truffle. You KNOW I'm having a chocoholic fit that day.
125 cal, 3 carbs, 26g protein. |

I always keep several bars of Simply Lite dark chocolate bars in my fridge, from Trader Joes. Each square is only 33 calories and half a bar is I think 2 net carbs, and they are sugar free. They also have milk chocolate. I let myself have one "free" square per day, esp
On DD. And when I'm PMSing or it's around TOM I allow for 200 calories ( half a bar) for most days. That way it's in my daily plan and I stay within my calories up and down. I find it's best, for me, to be honest with myself and just acknowledge that there are times when I simply must have my chocolate. If I don't plan for it I'd probably go over my calories. To thy own self be true. I think that's how it goes. |

Hi,
Sometimes I have 'hot chocolate' made out of boiling water, unsweetened cocoa powder, and stevia. It has almost no calories. Also chocolate glucomannan pudding can be made that way for few calories. |

I tried to call A.J. Canfield Company about the Diet Chocolate Fudge soda and found they were bought out by:
Select Beverage Company, Inc. 1914 Norwich Lane Bolingbrook, IL 60490 (630) 432-9005 chrisg@selectbevco.com I sent them an email. |

I'm just going to buy some club soda and add Hershey's chocolate syrup to it. That should, basically, be a chocolate soda. Hershey's makes regular syrup topping as well as fat free and sugar free, so depending on whether Up or Down Day, I could still make myself a chocolate soda.
It might need a bit of milk. Best would be some vanilla ice cream, but even just 1/4 cup of sugar free vanilla ice cream should turn that into a fairly decent chocolate soda. I'll experiment. Yeah... this could work. |
