Bounce? Sky Dive!!!!!
Ya Gotta see something like this to believe it! Yesterday morning I tried hiding my scale after a hectic and stressful weekend which included 2 UUADs. But, my curiosity got the best of me and I got it back out to see a 5.2 pound gain over the weekend. Wasn't surprised. I deserved it.
I had a terrific DD yesterday. Got on the scale this morning and it was DOWN -7.4 !!! Have you ever seen anything like that? That big of a change in one day??? I feel so much better after my DD. And, I'm glad I changed my mind about hiding the scale for a week because I have a tendency to fall into denial about how much I'm eating or sticking to plan when I'm not accountable to the scale. Made an appointment with my personal trainer for this morning and I'm raring to go. She will kick my butt big time and I'll probably see some kind of bounce back up, but that sky dive on the scale has to make a person believe in JUDD magic, don't you think?

Holy cats Yam-Yam!
![]() ![]() I'm thrilled for you!!!I wonder if this might have something to do with the whole shaking things up to keep your body from adapting that Sophie was talking about? Your usual routine changed quite a bit all the sudden over the weekend (hugs again btw for your awful weekend) and then you got back and did a good DD and saw this drastic skydiving weight. I don't need any more convincing of the JUDDD magic, but wow, these type of affirmations are truly amazing! |

Yup, that is a pretty enormous *whoosh* but JUDDD is known for some gigantic bounces on the scale, so I'm not all that surprised.
You said you'd had a weekend of overeating, and that can often be responsible for some very large gains of water weight. You can't actually gain over 5 pounds of body fat from just overeating for two days, but you can certainly retain a lot of water weight! So a good DD can trigger the release of that, plus sometimes we're ready for some of our ongoing water release just from our loss of fat in the preceding week, so when you add in that.. BIG whoosh! Glad you had such a successful and quick loss again of the water weight gain from your weekend, and know you will continue to have excellent true weight loss results from JUDDD. Fun and amazing story, and a really great illustration of what we are talking about when we discuss how JUDDD can give some of us huge bounces on the scale! And also a perfect illustration of how somebody could be terribly mislead about their ongoing weight loss progress if they didn't understand much about normal water retention and water loss balancing that is ongoing in our bodies as we enjoy great menus and continuing weight loss!

![]() Wow, Pat. That was all so affirming and a good explanation of what goes on in our bodies. I had a LOT of salt over the weekend. On Sat. BFF and I shared a big order of french fries with our lunch as well as huge fried crab cakes! Then the potato chip adventure ended up with me eating half a huge bag of Lay's potato chips. I know salt can make me retain fluid. But I was so stressed over my sister's health issue that I didn't care. I just wanted to shovel them in (in the middle of the night) and they were there and I did it. That's why I was not surprised that the scale went up over 5 pounds. Interestingly, it motivated me to have a perfect DD and to drink lots of water and do the things I know to get rid of fluid build up. I was still crying a lot yesterday (ha! maybe I lost some water weight there too! had not thought of that... ). But, I WAS super surprised by the big drop this morning. I think the biggest drop I've ever had was 3 pounds as was mentioned. This was unreal. I worked out with my personal trainer and then got in the swimming pool and did water aerobics after my workout this morning. Surprisingly I have stepped on the scale twice since I got out of my swimsuit and I still cannot believe it because it's after 1 p.m. and the scale is still down! Today is supposed to be an UD but all I had was a protein shake after my workout. In the spirit of Sophie saying to shake things up, I'm planning to have a cup of yogurt, maybe some steamed veggies and tuna and then a big dinner because DH is gonna BBQ outside this evening. My sister had more tests this morning and they still have not found out what is causing the Chorea convulsions. They are going to do a lot more tests and promised her son they would figure this out. I feel so much better than I did yesterday in every way. I guess exercise is magical as well as JUDD!! |

Congrats! I think I would have fainted from the excitement and probably would have stepped on and off the scale 5x to confirm what my eyes saw!!!
