Blabbermouth!!!

I am going to chime in on this thread again since I have now lost 25 pounds since January 8, 2012 and have enjoyed every step of the way. SLow but that is fine. I am in no rush. Can't believe I am 15 pounds from my lowered goal weight. By fall I should be there or below. Sooner if I had a little more control over my UD's.

Good idea to update Adi . . .
I'm currently at 54 pounds with JUDDD, since December 12, 2011. I've been trying to maintain or lose more slowly the last month due to some health/medication issues and to give myself a break. This week, weight loss is picking up, so I may need to rethink maintenance. ![]() |

Okay, I might lose faster if I went straight to maintenance - it sure looks that way! - but it looks as though I've lost nine pounds in seven weeks. That may not sound like much to the beautiful speeding bullet losers here (envy speaking), but I'm THRILLED!
And a wee bit scared that either it can't last or somehow I won't let it last. Funny how a trainload of identity baggage can swack you in the face as you approach something you've wanted for a long time. And funny, then, how the scale can make you nervous whether it's giving you a high number or a low number. Holy whacked, Batman. I love Juddd. I love this forum, or board, or whatever this thing is called. You guys, is what I mean. Many thanks. ![]()

Started JUDDD April 16, down 14 lbs and with the 4 lbs lost from LC before that I am down total of 18lbs since Mar. 27. This is so much better than I've been able to do for a loooong time! I'm 2 months from turning 59, take thyroid and a bp med. Working on getting up days to be more nutritious

On July 11, 2011, I joined a weight loss challenge here on the LCF Playground. My starting weight was 257. From that date until about a week and a half before Christmas 2011, I lost 40 pounds. Took right around 22 weeks to lose 40 pounds.
On March 22, 2012, I started JUDDD with a beginning weight of 227. It's taken me 10 weeks and 5 days to lose 32 pounds. Dieting half the time! Enjoying life! NO cravings (because I *can* have it, if not today - TOMORROW!) NO angst about anything, diet-wise. NO guilt! Arthritis is all but GONE! Energy to spare! What's not to like? ![]() |

Thanks so much, y'all.
![]() ![]() I'm doing well and very pleased with my progress, but certainly don't want to come off as bragging. Just want to help and encourage. Maybe switch on a lightbulb for someone like me who 'could' lose doing low carb or another plan but was very unhappy and unfulfilled doing it and was frustrated and looking into other plans they'd see mentioned here on LCF. The 22 weeks spent on low carb were, to be very honest, not fun. I was always anxious and cranky doing low carb. I just was. I soldiered through the days, and I obviously lost weight, but joyful? Nope. I didn't look forward to receiving invitations to grab a bite with our friends or other social functions where there would be food as a main part of the event. I knew if I "cheated" just once, it'd throw me off for the better part of a week. Not looking forward to social events is just NOT me. I had a lot of resentment from not being able to partake in celebrations or activities that involved food, or to look at them with trepidation and gloom. And most of the resentment was directed at myself. I love and eat many "low carb" foods. I've always been a big meat eater. Everything tastes better with a "little pat of butter" (remember those commercials?) I don't think there's a vegetable I don't like. Cheese? Nuts? You betcha! I've never been a big fruit eater, so passing them by didn't really bother me. BUT... I also really like a nicely toasted English muffin some days with my eggs. I like pizza, REAL pizza with a REAL crust. I love salads, but think good homemade croutons made from my homemade bread really make them special. One of my favorite snacks is sliced apple dipped in slightly warmed peanut butter. Even half an apple would kick me out of ketosis and I'd be in trouble. You get my drift. I came to JUDDD after seeing it mentioned around LCF and researched it. It sounded so familiar to me, so similar to how I ate when I was slender. Jumped into JUDDD, not at all expecting the results I've had. I didn't see it as a "quick weight loss" diet and still don't think it should be viewed as such, but obviously there are outliers. I saw it primarily as something very sustainable over the rest of my life. My progress is as much of a surprise to me as it is anyone! Most of my DDs are complete fasts (but not always) and most of my UDs tally up on the low end of "moderate carb" (again, not always) - pretty much how I used to eat when I was thin. I've lost weight. I'm 99% free from bad arthritis (that I still had with low carb). I've gained a ton of energy. I've gained freedom from food obsession. I've lost the self-loathing. With JUDDD, you win some and you lose some! ![]() My best to you all. ![]() |

![]() I keep trying to pull my DH in, but he doesn't like to count anything, and is worried about losing his mind on the DD's... I may be wearing him down slowly (or he'll just benefit from my doing it, eating a bit less on DDs etc). Sorry for the threadjack! ![]() |

14lbs (almost!) since April 28th.
I revisited my stats today, it was a good exercise for me as I get easily discouraged/hyper focused. Seeing that 14lb loss has really given me the lift I needed today. I can pull back a bit from obsessing over little ups and downs, jelly belly and so on and admit this really works for me. BFN, D |

20 pounds lost since I started JUDDD on June 3rd...and loving it. Been a low carber for years and got tired of losing and regaining the same ten pounds...found JUDDD and still try to keep the carbs low as I feel better without them. BUT am so happy I can have fruit and those other things that lured me back to regaining the lost pounds.
And thanks to all the Buddds here who have been so helpful... ![]() |
