2 UD in a row - then what?

Saturday was my normal up day. Today friends are bringing over fish tacos, chips and guacamole, so another UD!

So tomorrow is a DD, but should I have 2 DD in a row?

TIA

Can you make today an MD, and then tomorrow would be your normal UD, and back to your regular rotation?

Or if you want to keep today an UD, make tomorrow a DD, then just continue rotations. You don't need to do two DDs in a row.

2 DDs in a row are actively discouraged.

By the way, I wish I had friends like that!

I just had 2 UD's in a row, and did DD yesterday and UD again today....I didn't gain anything....didn't lose but that's what I get!

Two DDs in a row is long enough to convince your body the famine is real. So, it drops your metabolism and begins hoarding water and fat to divy out slowly over the long, hungry time it thinks is coming. This is NOT a good thing.

Most of us find once that ole JUDDD magic is poering our bodies, two UDs in a row is NBD as long as it does not happen too often.

Some people have M-W-F DDs and T-T-S-S UDs every week and lose. (That pattern works for some metabolisms and very much not for others.)

Don't panic. JUDDD is a WOE and, maybe more importantly, JUDDD is a WOL. When life gives you home-made fish tacos, eat and enjoy 'em. Watch the bounce, then get back on the rotation and watch the bounce go quickly away.

I just had two way UDs in a row (my Granddaughter's 2nd birthday party was yesterday, after my usual UD on Saturday). I put on almost five pounds of WATER weight. But that's all it is. I didn't eat enough calories to put on five pounds of FAT. I've done this many times in maintenance. I just go right back to my DD today and continue on. It may take a couple of DDs to get back down, but it WILL come back down, and I don't sweat it.

I know that if you're actively trying to lose weight, it can seem like a set-back, but in the overall scheme of things, you're just living your life, and you can do that very successfully on JUDDD. The trend will still be down.

This is exactly what happened to me...Friday and Saturday were both UDs and I gained four lbs. However, today, after getting back into my rotation (yesterday, Sunday, being a good DD), I have lost 2 lbs. out of the four. :)

Thanks, Everyone!

The Saturday before last I had an UUAD and gained 5lb of water. Today I've lost all but 1 lb of the water. It's scary for a one day indiscretion but it's still only water. Nothing a few trips to the bathroom can't fix.

Oh I forgot to say I just went right on to my DD the very next day and continued my rotations as always.

Hope you enjoyed everything, PJT! :hugs: I usually do 2 UDs in a row on Sat & Sun without a problem (I'll add that I'm in maintenance so not actively trying to lose). As others have said, instead of 2 DD, just do your regular DD and then go on with the rotation. It will all work out. :hugs:
