Question regarding first 2 weeks
Happy Friday to you all!
I am going to be starting JUDDD very soon (just wrapping up 3rd round of HCG and will do a week or so of Phase 3 before ending). I want to get things off to a good start and I am wondering about DD for the first 2 weeks. I don't mind the idea of meal replacement shakes and am wondering what some of the better tasting ones are? Also, can you make a protein shake instead of the pre-made ones? What brands do you use of protein powder? I am trying to stay away from wheat also... Thanks! ![]() |

Welcome Melissa... I personally did not use the protein shakes except for one day and then it was the pur protein brand... I prefer to chew... otherwise I get hungry....
Sorry I cant help you with a brand.. but.. I will say that as long a you count the calories in the shake... its all good... Let us know how you do!!! Karen |

I never used the shakes. Just planned my meals very carefully. In fact, the first few DDs I went over (as in 700 - 800 cals) until I adjusted. At first I lost eating the higher cal DDs, but ultimately I found I lose better when DDs are low.

I never did the shakes either. I need food. If I just drink something, I'm looking for the 'real' meal when I'm done.
Peruse the DD staples and recipe threads, and the "what are you eating today" threads for ideas on how to pack a lot of food into your 500 cal budget. And welcome! |

Hi Melissa - I too am an HCG'er now testing the JUDDD waters! Welcome!
I bought the Pure Protein shakes Frothy Chocolate as a recommendation of someone in this forum. They come in a 4 pk and WalMart has the cheapest price that I've found. About 7.50 for the 4 pk. I have one a day at dinner time. Here's a sample of my menu that has kept me satisfied on down days. B - 2 hb eggs (140 cals) OR wait if you can and don't eat til lunch. L - can of progresso light soup (160 cals) OR if I didn't eat breakfast I'll do 1 can of tuna w/ 1 hb egg, 2 tbsp light mayo, dill relish, onion, romaine leaves in a flatout whole grain flax wrap (363 cals) D - pure protein shake (120 cals) or can of soup if didn't have it for lunch My calories have been just over 500 but never reached 600.

Melissa - I use EAS Whey Protein. It has 130 cal in one scoop. I generally like to eat "real" food also, so I usually only use whey after strength training.

Melissa - I am doing well but haven't lost anything yet on JUDDD. I started on Mon 04/23 but the first weekend had 3 UD in a row. I got back on the wagon and have started recording my weigh ins daily. I'm going to see if I've lost anything as of Tuesday morning a week from today will be 2 weeks doing it correctly. I have went over on my DD instead of 500 it's been 550+ but always under 600. Going to try to do better on that. Also adding in carbs and starting a workout routine I could be retaining water?!?! LOL The DD are doable. I've learned to wait and eat at lunchtime the past few DD. It's not been so bad!

IMHO you'll be happier if you EAT your food rather than drink it.
Ever met a happy slim-fast dieter? No, I didnt think so... |
