My BMI changed today!

WOO! 1 month plus a few days into JUDDD, I'm 10+ lbs down (almost 21 from the start of the year, LC + JUDDD)-- and check out my new BMI in my sig!!!

I've gone from 43.2 to 39.8.

For some reason, that sticks out to me even more than the 20+ lbs

YAY JUDDD!!! I've not had this kind of success in 9 years...

That's great! I am also someone who has been aware of my BMI over the years. For me I watch the scales, my BMI, and how my clothes fit. All good measures of getting healthier. Keep it up!

I really hated the day the other year when I went in for my annual, and sitting there (paper robed glory) my Dr looked at me, looked at my recorded weight, and said, well, you don't look like you weigh 121kg (about 266lbs)...

Not fun.

I "carry the weight well" as they say, and my blood tests come back healthy, thank G-d... but in my heart and mind, i know that I was (WAS) on a path to a hard time as I got older.

So, yes. I'd like to wear a size 12/14 (see how I snuck that 12 in there? that's JUDDD magic talking).
Yes, I'd like to shop in "normal" stores, and I'd like the water to move AROUND me when I take a bath (rather than feeling like Panama before the canal was dug

)

MOSTLY-- I want to be OFFICIALLY healthy BMI-wise so I can tell my Dr to SHOVE IT!

I mean that in the nicest way possible

This thread made me go check my BMI. A part of me is pleased and another part is depressed.

Started at 39.9 Obese

Currently at 31.9 Obese

I still have 14 pounds to lose before I'm Overweight.

I still have 33 pounds to lose before I'm Normal.

I still have 47 pounds to lose before I hit my first goal.

I still have 72 pounds to lose before I hit my dream goal.

Love this! I've been semi avoiding the doctor lately because I don't want to hear the same rhetoric. I would love to be at least close to the "normal" category by my next visit!

She's not that bad (see my updated TOM thread)... but they're not exactly creative thinkers, so when the BMI is up, there's like a law (written or unwritten) that they have to at least mention it to you. She doesn't give me a super hard time about it, none of this "lose weight or else" stuff...

I saw her today, and they weighed me... I think 114kg by her scale, and I'm pretty sure it said 121kg a previous time... I'm not fussed though, b/c I only care what my scale at home says

She did say that as I lose weight, my TOM will return back to normal... I hope she's right.

She did mention that their group has a dietician... I said, thanks but no thanks, I'm doing fine on my own

nope I'd rather bury my head in the sand right now!! I do know that when I'm 140 lbs I'm a size 5. I also know that the chart in the dr.'s office says for my height I should be something like 118. I would look like a cambodia refugee at that weight.

I hear you... my goal is 160 b/c I seem to remember being that in University and I was just right... and I'm sure, still 10-15lbs over what the charts say for my height.

I'm just going to worry about getting to 199 for now, and then I'll figure the rest out later

Heh! I love reading this! We just keep JUDDDing along, eating whatever we decide to make our meals include, at whatever carb level has us feeling the most fabulous and healthy, and JUDDD just keeps slimming us down, month after month after month. I've never seen anything like it. Isn't it fun?!!!
