Ok so I finished my UP yesterday just a tiny bit under... today is the first DD and I have had my coffee and a fruit smoothie so far. I am at 230 cals. I did not bring anything for lunch here at work so I figure I will eat something at dinner, maybe some steamed veggies???

Whatever works for you! For me, I gotta have something with some fat in it. Especially on a DD like today where I'm hungrier than usual.

Now .. off to scarf my full fat YoCheese Pudding concoction ...

Tomorrow is an UD. Oh yeah ...

Thank you, so far I feel good, I am anxious to see if the scaled does anything in the morning. I was up 1/2lb after my UD.

It says 2399 UP and 480 DD, do I have to eat all the way up to 2399, right now I think the highest I usually get is 1600 and 1800 if I eat a lot. Of course this is mostly derived from meat and veggies.
no, absolutely not. you are not supposed to deliberately overeat. you are supposed to eat enough on your UD to satisfy. and the DD cals if you want to lose weight. i had people encourage me to eat too much at first. and i gained for a couple of weeks. then i actually read the book and learned that Dr. J. is very clear that the purpose of the calculator is to get DD cals. not that you have to eat the UD cals.

YMMV. Several of us were not eating up to our calorie ceilings and stalled. After increasing our calories to what the website gave us, the weight started coming off again.

You are doing so great! When you get a chance, take a look at the Daily Weigh In thread. It might help you be encouraged by the bouncing scale! I'm hoping you will see a decisive first loss tomorrow morning after your good DD. Fingers crossed! Make sure you drink lots of water.

Off to read the new threads you all posted here, Thanks again
it is easiest to get some kind of on line calculator. i like cronometer. i have the one that is downloaded on my desktop. then as i eat stuff it pulls the values from the USDA tables. make sure you pick the right values. for example raw beef as opposed to cooked beef. if that is what you weighed. you can set your own nutritional targets; add recipes for things you like that they dont have in the database; and you can add all the values for foods that are not in the database. so you can personalize it as you wish.

just remember respect your calories. Stay within your DD calories. And stay within your UD calories, which includes not over eating or under eating the number of calories you are allotted. It really is just that simple. Good luck!

I am counting and staying close to both!

UD 5/3 284
DD 5/4 283.5
UD 5/5 280.5

WOW 3.5 loss so far.

presumably that is why people told me to do that. but i gained right away. you mention eating more after stalling. so that sounds like you started lower; then lost; then eventually stalled; then increased cals and lost more. so that sounds reasonable to me. but starting high sounds like a way to gain and renomom already didnt sound like she was doing very well.

Arlene,
Have you discovered coconut oil yet? I can eat spoonfuls of it alll by itself. It's very nutritious and its calories help me get up to my UD numbers. Love drizzling melted CO on top of frozen berries topped with heavy whipping cream.

So glad you found JUDDD! The JUDDD BUDDs on this forum are a wonderful group of supportive people!

Just know you'll do great! Hang in there! JUDDD works!

I found some cambells soups for 70 cals and some lite Wasa crackers, Laughing cow cheese, even some Atkis shakes. I bought a beautiful cantaloupe and some strawberries, I think Im set for those DD's

Today I have enjoyed, bacon and eggs, 45 cal toast, Chefs salad (homemade) and getting ready for a Rib Eye and some steamed cauliflower
OMG is this really a diet??

I had some processed CO, but just got the virgin, cold pressed and O. M. G. !! What a difference. It is soooo good. I second the vote for CO to help up those calories!

DD calories can be anywhere from zero up to your allotted DD calories. Some find they lose better if they eat up to their DD calories and some fast completely. It's totally up to you.
