Thanks cactusrose. This is only my 4th day on thisWOE, but I am starting to agree. ON LC, I was never accountable for how much I ate, only what...I love adding back all the variety on an UD, but I've pretty much been sticking LC/high protein on my DDs.

Hi,
I've been lurking on this forum and decided to join in. Have loved reading your victories and gaining valuable information. I've dieted my way to 50 pounds of extra weight over the last couple of decades. I started JUDDD on May 10th. I'm 5'7", 59 yo, and starting weight was 202.4. I found my way here via Eat Stop Eat and Fast-5. On both programs I'd lose a couple of pounds, have a weekend where I ate too much, and regain those pounds. Since May 10th, I should have had 8 down days but have only had 5 of them. The other 3 down days became medium days. And I've lost 4.6 pounds! I am amazed!! I can't believe that I've FINALLY found a program that moves the scale. |

Hi all! Thought I'd introduce myself to those whom I haven't met -- I am another hcg-er, planning to transition to JUDDD after I finish this round (which, I hope, will get me back to goal!)
I've done successful, and not so successful, rounds of hcg -- and had a substantial gain this last couple of months (of p3) due to major, major physical and emotional stress that led to horrendous inflammation -- and a two month bout of the flu didn't help, either. I have some chronic health problems that make me very prone to inflammation, in general. I decided to do another round of hcg to get back to goal, or near goal, and then transition to JUDDD from there. I plan to do the first three weeks of it on p3 foods, and then I might get brave and experiment from there ... or I may just stay low carb, which is a WOE I enjoy. I'll be hanging around this thread, preparing myself for my JUDDD p3 for the next couple of weeks while I finish this round, and then I will jump into JUDDDing with you lovely folks. I am doing the first part of this p2 off the scale, and my first weigh in will be Sunday -- I suspect I am about ten pounds above goal right now, and I hope to reach goal by the time I finish my round. If not, I'll transition to JUDDD anyhow -- I'm pretty sure I am doing a short round this time (but I reserve the right to change my mind!)

I wanted to wait a week or so before posting to see if this new WOE would stick for me. I started JUDDD on May 16th at 178 lbs and of this morning I weigh 170.8 lbs! I am just giddy. I feel like this is effortless compared to other WOEs I have done in the past. I feel like my relationship with food has changed completely in just 10 short days. Consider me a JUDDD convert!

Welcome all! I keep forgetting to check in here, but it looks like all the great JUDDD encouragers have done their jobs. Good luck to everyone - I think you'll find this WOE satisfying and the JUDDD Buds awesome!

I am struggling brutally with hcg p2 at the moment, and wishing I could start JUDDD right this minute. Well -- I suppose I could -- but I am going to try to finish out the current round by going slightly rogue.
I finally faced the scale this morning ... 117.8 That is 12.8 lbs over my desired weight goal, though I'd be more or less okay with stopping at 110 and maintaining for a while. The last 5 are definitely vanity pounds... but I am vain ![]() I did decide to shake things up a bit today -- raised my calories to a whopping 850, dropped the fruit and added a bit more protein and some fat -- we'll see if that makes things a bit more tolerable. I generally do go somewhat rogue when I p2, and this is a tweak that has worked for me in the past. I tend to lose better eating a little more than the prescribed 500 calories, and my body HATES it when I do low fat for very long -- even a week has made me pretty miserable. I'm pretty determined to see out the end of the round -- rogue or no -- but MAN am I looking forward to JUDDDing. I can handle some very low calorie days -- even total fast days -- as long as there are periods of real eating interspersed between the down days... so I think this may be just the plan for me! I'm planning to resume working out (weight training, mostly) in p3 ... I am assuming I can do that along with JUDDD just fine -- I'll have to do some experimenting to see if I do better working out fasted (some people swear by this) or on up days -- but either way, I am pretty sure I can make this work. |

That's good to hear, Cactus!
I don't mind fasted training, unless it is seriously high intensity circuit/HIIT working out -- then, I find I do better at least slightly fed. The plan is to start with bodyweight training (Bar Method, Core Fusion) for a couple of weeks, and then move back into the lifting. I have been on a hiatus from formal working out, but have been very active nonetheless, including a lot of lifting and lugging up and down stairs. I'll probably start the bodyweight exercise this week, while still in p2, and then progress from there. |

I have a question, hopefully this is the right place!
Today I showed a gain of 0.8 lbs after a down day yesterday! I was a little bit shocked BUT it is my TOM...would that maybe cause me to show a gain?? My calories are 475 (DD) and 2375 (UD). Yesterday I calculated eating about 480 calories. I guess it might also be possible that I am not drinking enough water? Has this happened to anyone before? First time I have not seen a drop after a DD and it has me worried. Maybe the other possibility was that I did not eat enough on the UD? 2375 is a LOT to me...it could be possible that I am not eating enough. I haven't really been closely tracking on UDs - I find I get full pretty easily and rarely overeat. Just a bit confused!! Any thoughts are much appreciated Last edited by rosehip; 05-28-2012 at 07:49 AM.. Reason: typos! |

I wondered about my numbers being so high, too!
I just re-entered the info this morning and those were the numbers it gave me at 20% Wt Loss Mode with Light exercise 1-3 days a week... I thought it was REALLY high! Hmmmm ![]() ![]() But thank you for your response...I think I was having an episode of the jitters...you are very right re: weight loss. I suppose I am not as trusting of my body as I should be ![]() |

Are we all using the same calculator for caloric needs?
I used the one on the JUDDD site, and I came up with (roughly) DD 380/ UD 1850. That was based on my goal weight of 105 and working out 3-5 days a week. That seems about right to me, for my body. |

I started JUDDD on may 1 after doing low carb and have lost 4# so far. I am not complaining! But I have found that I do not feel. I have been having headaches on UD and DD and I think it s from letting myself have carbs. So I am going to be doing JUDDD and low carb. If any one has any tips on doing this low carb I would love to have them.

Another newbie here!
Today was day 1 for me on JUDDD and a down day. I did well while I was at work today because I was so busy but tonight has been a little harder. I plan to go to bed very early tonight. I am a former Atkins, Lean For Life, Weight Watchers, Sugar Busters, Nutrisystem, HCG and Bernstein "dieter." I lost 70 lbs approx. 12 years ago and have slowly put back on 50 of them. I lost 20 lbs last summer on HCG and it seems to have reattached to my butt. Looking forward to this journey with all of you! Last edited by Keri K; 05-28-2012 at 05:35 PM.. |

This may sound like a dumb question but after reading a couple of other post I'm confused
When we fill out the calculator on the JUDDD site are we to use our current weight or our goal weight?? Dumb question I know. |

I also think it's wise to choose the option for no exercise unless you really exercise a LOT. The calculator seems to be a bit generous in the amount of calories it gives for exercise. The general consensus seems to be that if you worked that hard to burn the calories, why would you eat them back? Obviously if you burn a ton of calories, you need to eat some of them back, but so many of us have success with the calculator set to little or no exercise. Just MHO.
