HI everyone,
good to meet you all. Hubby just came off hcg too and has joined me in this way of eating. I have decided I don't really care how fast it comes off. I know it is coming off now, and having come thru menopause and every diet possible, struggling and working out and not losing, I am quite content that each day I get up to a great menu lol. I am so thrilled to never feel deprived and am excited to be in control again like I was before menopause. I look forward to the day when my problem will be...oh no I am too far below goal, I am gonna have to adjust these down days lololol. Betty |

Welcome everyone! I hesitated to post my first months results because they are not impressive but I am thrilled with them. I lost 5.4 pounds my first month. This is huge for me because I was on Weight Watchers prior to this (never did low carb) and gained and lost the same 2 pounds for 18 months. This has also been a very hectic month for me with my mother being very ill and traveling to see her about every weekend. Also, 2 doctors have told me that I wouldn't be able to lose weight because of medications I am on for migraines. So I am very happy with JUDDD and this is a great group of people on this board that are very willing and able to help everyone!

re: way to go Tammy
That is a great achievement, I love this so far. I have fought with every diet and work out and am tired of fighting, this is such a relief. the sad thing is I was always thin as a young person, and as I look back, this is pretty much how I ate, all day without anything and then a good dinner. And of course I would be hungry the next day so I'd eat, but then get busy the next and so on lol, then everyone is like, you better stop eating so much lol, or what do you mean you don't eat breakfast. I should have just stuck to my pattern then. Well, I hope this continues to work for all of us, even if it is slow, it is at least a steady down hill trend.

I started JUDDD on April 1st and at my one month weigh in, I am down 9.8lbs! Was hoping to hit the 10lb mark, but I'm very happy with my results! The support on this board has been instrumental. to all of the May newbies! Keep up the good work! ![]() |

YMMV But I would not recommend you try to stay lc. You are already losing the initial water weight , so if you simply continue with your rotations you will do fine.I have to ask, what is an HA? Quote:

Welcome to all our new Juddd Buddds! I starting in Jan, and in some ways, feel like I've been here forever. I can't wait to celebrate your successes and encourage you when you feel things aren't going well (and even give you a gentle nudge when it isn't going well because you aren't respecting those numbers like you should--we ALL need that sometimes).
You are off to a great start! |

Hi Chris, think of it a planning, not obsessing. And use that mantra, "I can eat that tomorrow".
Hope you ask lots of questions and visit here often. LOVE that kitten! |

to our new Juddd buds!Sorry, not too much time for personals today, but wanted to welcome any newbies I may have missed. You have joined a forum that has the friendliest bunch of folks I've met on line in a very long while. I know it's been said many times before, but it is critical to your success, and that is to respect those calorie numbers. There were times when I didn't and had a gain, but because of the science behind JUDDD and its forgiving nature, it all came off rather quickly. Love JUDDD and am sure you will too! When I was successful in the past with LC, it was due to planning. Hopefully I will get into that groove on JUDDD...soon! That's Felix (I know, not very original), our Maine Coon Polydactyl kitten (he won't be a year old until July). He's a chatty little guy! |

Stitch, thanks for the bounce record.
Chris, that DD obsession is beginning to shift for me at the end of week two and what the heck, I was obsessed before with the rate at which my rear end was growing. I just finished my first DD at a dinner with friends and it was GREAT! I was concerned I might crash and burn (and eat everything offered to me), but it was okay. Ended the day at a ridiculous 315 calories. My god, this JUDDD thing is good. And I will eat like a queen tomorrow! Kristin ![]() |

I am hoping to begin JUDDD on Sunday or Monday I have a lot of weight to lose and I am hoping this is the last diet I will have to ever be on. This board is amazing with all the motivation you get from current JUDDER's.

I thought I would repost this from the Introduce Yourself thread on 4/30...
4/30 I tend to go up and down in weight during the course of the year, losing in spring/summer, then gaining back the same 10-15 pounds every fall/winter. I am hoping this will be my long term solution to permanent weight loss. It certainly looks very promising. I would love to hear from anyone with really long term results with JUDDD to encourage me in this endeavor. In January I started gradually lifting heavier weights with compound movements like deadlifts, squats, and trying bodyweight pullups/chinups, chest press. I was carb cycling with higher carb days on weight training days and lower carbs on rest days, and seeing results in how my clothes fit. Now this will be new to me, so few calories on training days here and there. My weights days depend on my work schedule, I train on my off days from work, which vary week to week, so I will really not have control over exercising more on my UD vs DD. This will be quite the experiment.... My goal: I am looking for more fat loss now with some weight loss. Since I am weight training, I will be tracking more the inches lost and how my clothes fit rather than the scale. 5/2 Well I cannot believe how good I felt on my first DD Monday, I got a bit woozy in the evening though, but I was only at about 380 calories, I guess I was afraid of overeating... UD yesterday, once again afraid of overeating, but tracked my calories closely, felt like I was able to eat quite a bit, was satisfied and even was able to have 2 shortbread cookies in the evening. WITHOUT GUILT!!!!! Now there's a new concept!! Thank you JUDDD! This morning I am down 1.5 pounds. I am usually not a daily weigher because I don't like getting discouraged, but I am just curious. I see others here get a bit down also when the scale doesn't move quite quickly enough. May I suggest monitoring your measurements, or find a favorite item of clothing you want to get back into and try it on every week? Last year-Jan 2011 I did carb cycling and that was the best way to track my losses. If we lose fat, it is "fluffier" than muscle, so we may not be losing tons of weight, but if it is fat we are losing, the measuring tape will show it. Hooray for less fat and more muscle definition! Thought for the day: If I thought I looked great and I feel comfortable in my skin, and am able to wear the clothes I want, I truly wouldn't care what the scale says... Best to everyone today!!! |

I'm considering switching over early. TOM is here and I'm not losing anymore on a VLCD. An UD would be rull rull nice right about now.

I'd go for it! I lost 10lbs (from 141 to 131) in a week and a half doing VLC and then didn't lose anymore for 5 weeks. Then I just went screw it and ate whatever I wanted for three weeks, somehow managing only to gain a couple of lbs. By the time I started JUDDD I had def gained back all the water weight I was going to gain (be prepared for this if you do switch, don't let it discourage you). Now I've been JUDDDing for a bit over a month and I'm down bouncing between 123.2 and 125.9 eating all the lovely things I want.

Stitch, thank you! I'm trying to make myself okay with it. Someone is seems more okay because the dd are the same as p2 days! So really, I'm ready.
I have a bit of the "superstition" going on...23 days MINIMUM or ELSE!!!! ELEVENTY!!!!11! I need to let go of that. I only have 5 days left before I'm there, but I also know that a. I'll be hungry all 5 days because of TOM and b. I'd really like some chocolate! None of that is enough to make me walk away early-I've been here done this before. But the fact that the scale won't be moving because of TOM is kind of enough. I'd only be sticking with it to try and eek out another few pounds, and that's not going to happen. I guess my real issue is fear. Fear of the unknown specifically. I KNOW hcg works. I'm just hoping JUDDD does. I've not done it to know so it's a matter of having faith and just walking into it. I do NOT want to do another round of hcg. It's not miserable for me at all, I just don't want to. It's just that it's the only thing that ever let me lose. I'm so scared that I'll JUDDD and gain it all back only to have to start all over again. Sorry I'm kind of freaking out. Who am I kidding? I'm totally freaking out. Sigh. I'd love to make tomorrow an up day! ![]() |

Lovely to see our Newbies getting to know each other and already offering each other support. That is what the JUDDD board is all about,
The bounces, though scary are natural. Do try not to let them 'get' to you. Circus girl, whenever you do start to JUDDD, do start with a lovely UD, enjoying some of you favourite food. Last edited by Kissa; 05-02-2012 at 01:52 PM.. |

I am new to JUDDD, but JUDDD is way more forgiving and a whole lot easier. That being said - it is not near as fast as hHcg - so if your expecting superfast weight loss - most likely won't happen. Heck - I lost faster with straight LOW CARB (the first time).... after that, not-so-much. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

thank you!
yes, I won't need it to be fast...I just want a downward trend. Stalls are even fine! I just have one of those bodies that LOVES to pack weight on. I do great p2 and p3 without question. p4 not so much. I think I'm doing it. ![]() |
