The next time you make coconut oil candy, try this:)
Mocha and sea salt coconut candy
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted but not hot 3T good quality cocoa powder 1tsp instant coffee powder Sweetener of choice equal to 2T (or more if you like it sweeter) Freshly ground sea salt or coarse ground sea salt Dissolve the coffee into the coconut oil. Add the sweetener and stir that as well. Add a pinch of the salt and the cocoa powder and stir or whisk until completely dissolved and smooth. Taste it at this point to make sure it's as sweet as you like. Pour onto a plate or whatever that is lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate until it just starts to set, then sprinkle the sea salt over the top and very gently press to make it stick**, then refrigerate until it's hardened. Break into pieces and enjoy! **At this point you can score the candy into pieces if you like a more uniform size.

Well coffee has always enhanced my chocolate cakes, so I imagine it would do wonders for candy as well. I'll try it next batch. Thanks for the idea, Dottie!

Off to make this now. I made a version of this with pistachios added.
So good! I want to try this because it uses the cocoa instead of a chocolate bar. Thanks! |

Now you've got me wondering if this might get me past the coconut 'smell/taste'.
And I love chilli chocolate, chilli flakes and salt. Hmmmm. |

I don't make the candy but after reading all the recipes ( I love to bake) I wonder if adding a bit of cashew butter might not taste yummy!
