What I find works is Tracy Anderson's post pregnancy DVD.I've never been pregnant, but it's really tough and works.

Core work like planks, stability ball work, etc. Pilates and callanetics are great, too.

Definitely cardio, Yam Yam is so right.

Two forms of cardio that have helped me tremendously in this area are kickboxing (Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire workout dvds rock!) and doing walk/jog intervals, either outside or on the treadmill.

Boy, your saying this really makes me want to get one! Do you have one? and if so, where did you get it? I'm assuming it's weighted.

Me too! I found them at WalMart for $20 but they only have the smaller, lighter weighted hula hoop. My Sports Authority has a bigger one for around $40, but I don't want to spend that much, especially since there's no guarantee I'll use it more than once!

The small ones are meant for children, not adults. They are very hard to keep going if you are an adult.

A hoop the right size for you should come up to your bellybutton or higher when it's stood on edge in front of you. That's going to be much easier to use and much more satisfying because you can keep it going for more than two seconds.

The ones I was looking at were for adults, in the exercise area, but I had read on-line that they come in two sizes and a couple of different weights. 35" and 3 lbs and 42" and 5 lbs (if my memory serves?). I want the big old sturdy heavy weight one. They only had the smaller one on the shelf. It's the kind you put together, encased in foam.

I heard about a store the next town over which sells to gyms. I may have to take a trip over there to check it out.

Mine comes to bottom of my ample busom. 42 inch hoop weighs just under 3 pounds. I ordered from canyon hoops through amazon. Quick and under 40 bucks. The bigger and slightly heavier ones are supposed to be easier for noobs. Don't do it for more than two minutes a day when first starting.you will bruise. It takes a lot of room, I have to do it outside.
