Sick Day

Yesterday (Sat) was an UD. I ended up at Urgent Care; thought it was a back issue but turns out its either a kidney infection or kidney stones. I was in agony all day and probably had about 1100 calories. I ended up vomiting all night so I guess those last 800 calories don't count??

Today is a DD and still feel weak and in pain. I really doubt I'll eat much but I do want real ginger ale.

Do I just go on with my normal DD? I'm probably staying in bed with my heating pad and painkillers most of the day.

so sorry you are not feeling well.
Just take care of you and when you feel better then worry about UD or DD.
Hope you feel better soon.

All bets are off when you're sick. Just fuel your body however it feels it needs and get back to rotations when you feel better.

I get kidney stones regularly and they are NOT fun! I've only had a couple of kidney infections, but they suck too. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. If you find out you have hyperuricemia (too much uric acid--which cause the kidney stones that look like goathead stickers), ask me about my experience with allopurinol before you start taking it if they prescribe it for you. Hopefully this won't become a chronic condition for you.

So sorry! Hope you feel better soon.

My DH had kidney stones and it was so awful. He just threw up and threw up.

Dawn is right. Focus on getting better. JUDD will be waiting for you when you are feeling good again. Sometimes when we are ill, our bodies hang on to some weight to help in the healing process. Of course, with some illnesses, people drop weight.

None of that matters. What matters is to follow your doctor's advice and get rid of those awful stones. More

I'm not familiar with the details of Judd, but I would just concentrate on getting well rather than sticking to a diet. Listen to your body, eat what you think you can handle. Hope you are feeling better very soon

I'm so sorry you're dealing with such painful health challenges!

I second (third, nineteenth) the advice to just take care of yourself by eating and drinking whatever you need during this time. Maybe think along intuitive eating guidelines. Eat when you're hungry, eat what sounds good to you and what you feel your body can handle, stop when you're no longer hungry. That way your body is nourished and can expend considerable energy to heal and you will be nourished and ready to start your rotations again after the health challenge is over.

Gentle Please feel better soon.

Pixie it sounds as if you are really in the wars there. As everyone has said, put your health first and do not worry about your rotations.

I do hope you are feeling better by now and that the pain has eased.

Thanks everyone. (Love this group )

Found something on line that seems to work for a lot of people. 2 oz of olive oil mixed with 2 oz of lemon juice. Drink with lots of water and will help dissolve the stone. Pain is less intense but still there. No puking today which is better than yesterday. love this "sick" icon!

oh my gosh, how many calories in 2 oz of olive oil?? jk I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.

Probably 80. But who cares??? The Omega 3's are healthy, so worth it and if it gets you better, do it!!! If I had what you are going through and someone could prove to me that standing on my head and pouring gasoline up my nose would work, I'd do it!!! Get yourself better! No counting calories right now. PROMISE??? Pinky swear?????

Ooh, I just looked it up! You don't want to know. That being said, if it works, I'd still do it and not worry about the calories until I was better.
