I Miss My Old Clothes! (Petty Whine, lol)
Don't get me wrong, I
![]() ![]() JUDDD with all my heart, BUT...I miss my old clothes! Today I wore one of my favorite red sweaters. I didn't realize it until this evening, but it was hanging off me and I looked horrible! (Into the yard sale boxes it goes...) Sigh. So I went to my closet and put on my favorite black sweater. It's wearable, but won't be by the time fall rolls around, even if I'm only able to lose another 10 pounds or so by then. I figured I better wear it now while I can! ![]() ![]() ![]() But, on the upside...new clothes!!! I got a jumpstart today at Target. WooHoo!! |

I know! I've had several things that I basically felt like crying when they quit fitting. A pair of jeans with decorative stitching and sequins down the left leg. Quite a few cute tops. A cobalt blue velvet gown that I love. Stuff like that.
It is fun losing weight but it's sad letting go of stuff like that. ETA: I just try to think how much someone else is going to get to enjoy it now, as I put it in the pile to go to the thrift store. Last edited by Luna Loca; 04-21-2012 at 08:16 PM.. |

Makes me cross sometimes too.
Then occasionally I put something on and it looks right, then I think, OMG what did I look like wearing that before. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

you CAN alter some things to still fit or make them over into something new altogether.

I remember how stoked I was when I found a very great Carole Little outfit at the thrift store a couple of years ago. I used to wear a lot of her stuff back in my slender days. It is a size 12 and I could not fit into the pants at all, nor would the jacket button over my belly. Carole Little stuff is kinda funky and has a distinct style (I'm like that, too Last week I decided on a whim to try the outfit on again, just to see how much more I had to lose before I could reasonably wear it with the jacket open and a tank top underneath. To my sheer amazement and delight, the pants are too big! And the jacket needs to be altered (I sew, so will do that soon). What a thrill!! I know all about vanity sizing and don't care about getting to a specific "size" per se, I just want to be able to again wear clothes that are "me", kwim?Donate the stuff you love! Someone else is sure to be glad to have it! |

I had the reverse happen. I did a lot of spring cleaning yesterday and found a ton of really cute summer clothes in a drawer in the guest room. (linen shorts, 4 or 5 pairs of Capri pants etc)
I tried on everything (not all of it fits but most of it does!!!!!!!!) I haven't worn this stuff in 2 years!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My current work pants are getting so baggy but I will not replace then for 15 more lbs. the exciting thing is these very pants were ones I could not button last summer. Very excited to shrink! Very excited to shop!

Just yesterday I was wearing a coat out shopping and happened to look at myself in the mirror. The coat looks terrible it is so bit. But I really like that coat.

We're planning for a yard sale in a couple of weeks, so I went through my boxes of clothes in my closet and found my sizes 14/16 jeans -- I pulled on one pair of 16s today and they're comfortable (been wearing 18s and 16W)!! So, I kept the other 3 pair of 16s convenient, and the other 12 or so pair of 14s(!) are waiting for me... I found a lot of shirts that might fit, too, but I've still got a lot of newer shirts since I've been stocking-up on the ones I've decided I like. But there is a huge box of stuff going into the yard sale. I keep pants -- if I ever need them again, I've got them. But I will put the 18s/16Ws into the box WAAAY in the back of the closet, hoping to never see them again!

I haven't reached the point yet of not being able to wear anything - they were all tight when I started. I have a whole closet full of stuff though that I am starting to fit into - so exciting. They haven't fit for about 2 years...
I love loose clothes! Looking forward to getting down another 20 pounds - I have another set of clothes waiting! |

My mom took me on a shopping spree for my birthday 2 years ago to update my wardrobe, and I loved everything we bought. Only one dress bought that day is still wearable. Made me sad. But she is now the size I was then, so I passed a lot of it on to her.
I've been loving thrift/resale shops for those in between sizes that will only be worn for a short time. |

Gotta love this JUDDD magic!
Today, same story, but with my favorite white sweater, lol. I've decided that my sweaters are getting put into the dryer next time I wash them. Maybe they'll shrink in the right way? Otherwise, I'm doing well with my summer wardrobe. It's my fall/winter wardrobe that's gonna need an overhaul! I do a lot of thrift store shopping so at least I can get nice stuff for not a lot of $$$. |

Tell me about it, but at least I can afford to buy some new clothes with all the money I'm saving on food!
My grocery bill has literally been cut in half, especially with not having to buy specialist diet products all the time.I hate to say goodbye to some of my big clothes that I love, but its worth it to be back in my skinny jeans! |

I hung around my high weight for four years. Gradually I got rid of all the smaller sizes...they just were never going to fit again.
So, the bad news is a lot of eccentric smaller clothes are 'gone-gone-gone. The good news, I adore thrift stores so my new 'look' is maintaining the eccentric standard. (NONE of the larger sizes were fun. I was glad to see them go!) |

I just went through this again yesterday!
I thought I had gotten rid of all my loose clothes, but when I was getting dressed yesterday morning, I found another outfit that I loved in the back of my closet. Put it on, and I couldn't believe how much bigger it was for me. So, I tried a few others that were back in the closet........same thing. Thought I'd take them to have altered, but then thought I had enjoyed them so it's time for someone else to enjoy them now. I really thought I had stopped losing, but evidently JUDDD works its way into body re-shaping, as well. Yay for JUDDD!! |

True they can be altered and I can sew. BUT I hate altering and would rather get rid of them than go to all of the trouble of altering. I would rather make something from the beginning than fix a ready made garment. Just my strange perversion.
