Ellgee's First Month of JUDDD

So I was hesitant to actually post my one month stats as I am weighing in today after an UD, TOM is in full swing and since the first of the month, absolutely NOTHING has been happening in the way of weight loss.

But then I realized that my scale doesn't know what day it is and doesn't care if I'm retaining water. She gives me a momentary snapshot of what is going on in that tiny moment of my life. And I realize that snapshot does not define me! It doesn't show that I have been really sticking to this WOE for one month!!! It has been over a year that I have stuck with ANYTHING dietwise for a month!

So rather than focus on the bad, I am going to focus on the good!

In this last month, I have lost (as of today) 12.2 pounds!!! How can I be sad about that? Yes, 12 pounds was in the first two weeks and .2 has been in the last two weeks but I'm NOT giving up. My average is still 3 pounds a week of loss and I have faith that things will pick up again now that I have ovulation and TOM taken care of. My stats still claim my lowest weigh in which is a total of 14.6 pounds lost.

More good? I have lost that 12 pounds eating things I deprived myself of for so long! I can make it through the rough DDs telling myself I CAN and WILL have that food tomorrow and that is what has kept me moving forward. Dieting every other day has brought me a 12 pound loss! Cuh-razy!!!!

Other good? This board and the encouragement and friendship that exists here! It does me good to see others succeed and struggle. We are all in this together! I come here every day for my dose of JUDDD BUDDDs! I question why I ever stopped this WOE a few years back! But really it doesn't matter anymore. I am here now and that is what counts.

So yeah, the scale made me grumpy this morning and tried to make me feel like a failure but tomorrow it might make me smile. It's a fickle beast.

Onward and downward into month 2!!!

Laura, I think you've done amazingly well! I love your attitude and your willingness to see the positive. Many JUDDDers have 2 weeks every month where they just don't lose because of hormones. I hope this first month for you has been an aberration and you will lose more steadily, but if it isn't, just know you're not alone and you're still going GREAT! Patterns will emerge over the next month or two and you'll learn what works best for you.

I'm so glad you're here with us! KUTGW!

What a great attitude you have! With losing so much the first 2 weeks and then only a little the next 2, I suspect a lot was initially water weight that has since been replaced with fat loss. 12 pounds in a month is great!

Twelve pounds in a month is fabulous!

You're doing so great! Hang in there, your turn to lose again will be here soon!!

BTW, have you measured? Lots of people report that they lose inches even when the scale is going nowhere.

Hey Luna - I actually have measured. I did it on the first of the month and will remeasure on 5/1 to give myself a fighting chance at losing some inches.

I have some jeans that I was in before I gained back a ton of weight and I will try those on at the beginning of the month too. This month they got stuck at my thighs! LOL!

But I feel smaller if that makes any sense. Don't know if it is just a mental thing.

Another inspriring story! Thank you for posting Laura!

I'm in week 3, and knowing that TOM might have a big impact is actually encouraging for me, so I know not to FREAK OUT if I don't lose that week.

I'm excited to post my 1 month, following in the dedicated footsteps of JUDDD BUDDDS like you!

Well done you!
