JUDDD BUDDD's I need help....

Ok so I need help trying to figure out something. Thursday is a DD for me. I usually go as long as possible before I eat anything, if I do! Well Friday is my sisters wedding, its an UD and it shouldnt be a problem.

Well it is.......I NEED to save my calories for the day for the reception. I was looking at the menu and its so very calorie ridden. I know I will have a drink to toast them, and so on so forth. I also know I will be going over my 1800 calories for the day in that evening alone! I am ok with that as....its my sisters wedding and well hopefully its a once in a lifetime thing!!

Anyways, since thursday is a DD and I try to stay at 300 calories if I do eat. I know on weds I will stop eating by 7pm. So that means I will go from weds 7pm til atleast 7pm thursday for my fast, if I dont eat that means I will go from weds 7pm til friday 6pm before I eat again. Thats a long time with no food at all!! I dont want to trigger starvation mode.....I know I will really be skirting the edge of it.

I was hoping for idea's on a good hearty snack for my DD. That will get me through til friday evening thats only 300 calories!!! I thought of oatmeal or something like that......but I know thats a trigger for me. Maybe I should just eat breakfast friday morning, and try to figure out what to push away friday evening........any suggestions????

All Birthdays, Holidays and Special Occasions are UDs, said Pat, and I hold her to this theory. Times like these come so few and far between they need to be enjoyed, savored and remembered as GOOD times, not times we stress about our WOE

Go and enjoy our sister's wedding. Forget the timing of your meals, fasting, calories and concern.

Have an AMAZING time and just do a good DD the next day! Give yourself the FREEDOM and PERMISSION to just "BE AND ENJOY"!

Congrats to your sister and the family!

Yes, what Beeb said. Have a normal DD the day before, and then on the wedding day, just enjoy. Put all worries about food out of your head. If you need breakfast, eat it so you can enjoy all the festivities without being headachy or feeling shaky. You can have a good dd the next day, then and Ud, then a dd, etc. Any gain from the day will be gone in no time.

Katie, have a wonderful time at your sister's wedding. Use it to prove to yourself that you really can savor food and party hard without making food the main event.

Then, when life returns to normal, use the next few DDs to prove to yourself that JUDDD really does forgive.

You can come out of this more secure in yourself and happier than you can ever imagine. You really can.

(voice of experience signing off).

Tanya - I really think that your sister's wedding is a time to have a Free Day.

I would have a perfectly normal DD the day before and the day after (if possible).

On the day - I would eat normally for breakfast and lunch and then enjoy the dinner.

If you are hungry and force yourself to wait till the evening you may just over eat!

Free Days that have a purpose should be enjoyed - it's the Free Days that just happen that we have to be really wary of.

Yes - your weight loss my slow down for a few days - but not in the long run!

Sorry I just cant share the lady locks. Unless you wanna hide under the table with the tray with me!!!! I keep talking myself out of the free day! I know it would be easier. Just think I like the idea of keeping it an UD in my head for the control factor.....seriously I would be under the table with a tray of lady locks and filling all over my fingers and face!!

Your sister's wedding is once in a lifetime, I'd let go for that one and really enjoy it! The only wedding I really enjoyed was a sibling's one. I didn't believe everyone when they said that, but it's true! Unless you've 40 siblings, I wouldn't worry.

I'm having a (somewhat) similar scheduling dilemma- it would have to be in the first week!! My brother is visiting from Australia at the moment (we've not seen him in 1.5 years and he probably won't be back again before next Christmas) and we're having dinner for him on Saturday. Obviously, I plan to eat.

However, Friday's an up day for me.

Can I stop eating at around 4pm on an up day and then have a down period of around 27 hours, allowing me to eat the dinner without going crazy over schedule? I really want to make Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays down days from now on. I know that two DDs together are not good news, and I think Sunday probably will have to be a kind of MD to achieve this, but I really need another down day here!

Any ideas?

If I were you I would go and enjoy the wedding and don't feel guilty about eating. JUDDD works so well and sounds like it is very forgiving. Just get back on schedule the next day.

I agree - just go eat what and how much you want, enjoy!! Then, just go on with the rotation.... Life goes on and if this plan is going to work for life, it has to work around your life, especially in times like these. And you've been on JUDDD long enough to build up some magic dust. This day of free eating and fun won't be but a little blip on your weight loss history - assuming it even affects your weight. It may not. And if it does, it's nothing a couple good DD can't fix. *mwahaha!* Come on, come on... we beckon you just a little further into the dark side my preciousssss

Ok! I will just enjoy myself....oh and my egg mcmuffin now too since thats all I have been thinking of now! I guess I can wait til next week to see 173 on the scale again! It keeps popping up every few days....and I swear I can hear the evil giggle as it bounces away again! It will be mine soon enough, my bounces are showing me I should drop below it next week! Oh Sophie, if I come further into the dark side I am bringing my glow in the dark nail polish! Then we can all sparkle too!

My go to lifesaver is chia almond milk.
I gel 1 Tbsp chia seeds in 1 cup unsweetened almond milk overnight for 100 cal , but the seeds really keep me going for a lot of hours with good energy.

Casmira, I really encourage you to take it a simply as you can. Yes, you can stop eating after an early dinner on Friday. Just make sure you get your calories in.

On Saturday eat lightly and sensibly during the day (which, in the wonderful world of JUDDD means fast only if you know you are comfortable doing so).
Then enjoy the big family meal. Family and being together is much more important than the calories in one day.

Concentrate on talking and sharing and you may be able to make Saturday an MD. But if it goes over...it really does not jinx you. And, heck, eat small amounts, talk a lot, and you may not even eat enough cals to make a MD.

Do not stress this! Just get back on rotation Sunday. And since Sunday is an UD, eat.

JUDDD is a way of living. Life happens. As long as life does not happen every week, you really cannot do any permanent damage (that goes for you too Katie).

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

I know........I am trying very hard to hit a goal I picked out, and I am so worried one night will mess that up. I know its a way of life for me, just I hold to much on my shoulders with wanting something I havent been able to achieve in years. JUDDD is working so amazingly and I dont want to lose that magic for even a minute!

Right now I feel like its fat and skinny ran a race all around the pillow case....ever hear that saying........fat and skinny ran a race all around the pillowcase, fat fell down and broke her face and skinny laughed I won the race! <-----I want to win the race!!!!! JUDDD is working and getting me there!!! I am thisclose to the 160's......I havent seen that on my scale since my kids were in grade school!!!! I want that more than anything right now!! I know I am nuts but I love JUDDD that much and how its working for me!!!! Yes I know its a journey but I wanna race to the 160's then I will journey again!!!!

It's great isn't - was going to say the same thing!!! Have a proper UD on the Friday - but finish eating at 6.30-7.00pm - then have a DD until 6.30-7.00pm ish.

Try to maintain reasonable cals for your UD 24 hours - and then have an extra long DD!

OH!

And this can help a lot: stay hydrated all day. Thirst frequently masquerades as hunger...except no amount of eating will turn that hunger off. All day, while watching or avoiding calories, be the person with the constantly refilled water bottle (you know, the person who always seems to be exiting the bathroom ).
