protein powder

What kind of protein powder do you buy? I have whey muscle milk from Costco both chocolate & vanilla but it has a lot of calories? Do you know of a brand that had fewer calories?

Thanks!

hemp protein is pretty low-cal; the label says 120 but if you don't count the fiber it's only 71. It has 14g fiber so it's really filling! (ETA: my jar is kinda old--I buy it in bulk & refill it--but there seems to be updated info that says 80 cal/serving).

I also like the Syntrax line of protein (vanilla bean torte g& peach, especially). For straight up protein, Jarrow's unflavored. You can add it to almost *anything*!

I absolutely LOVE Sun Warrior vanilla protein powder- 70 cal for one scoop (16 grams of protein)

If you read up on it, it contains so many health benefits and has really saved me on my DD so far.

I love Sun Warrior Chocolate. It's so tasty! I choosed that one because it is raw and vegan, and comes with a full amino acid profile. I had a soy one before, and never really liked it ,but then I found SW

Wow, the sun warrior looks awesome! I'm ordering warrior blend right now

Unfortunately, I cannot use the vegan one it is rice based and I am allergic to rice.

Pretty cool the blend is hemp, cranberry, pea protein with stevia and some gums including konjac (glucomannan). I can have that!

The Sun Warrior does look amazing. I have some hemp protein powder here, but don't really like it (too gritty). And can't do whey or egg white.

Now to decide on the rice or blend. Decisions decisions.

agree on the hemp grit. I don't notice it in liquids, but I added it to carrot cake protein bars this time and grit city.

I'm so excited for you girls to have your first Sun Warrior shake. I am telling you, I have one every single day and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my stamina, digestion, and muscle tone. I know that most of you already get in a good amount of protein, but the quality of this product is so high and assimilates so naturally into your system that I am positive you will notice the positive changes that I have :-) Let me know what you think!

Let me know what you think of it. I found a place locally that sells it, but they only have the huge one and I didn't want to make that kind of committment without trying it first.

Hi Kathy, I ordered mine online from their main website; it was a bit pricey, but has a lot of good stuff in it - I plan to continue looking at other online sites to see if anyone else carries it and at a better price -

I'm thinking of trying the Sun Warrior brand too. I had some issues with whey protein powder last year, even with the all natural stevia-only sweetened brands. I'm gonna give my whey protein another go, and if I still have those issues, I'll try the Sun Warrior. I miss having the occasional shake!

What flavor did you order? chocolate, plain, or vanilla? I'm think I'll try this the next time I order.

I ordered the chocolate one; was thinking of the vanilla first but then went with the chocolate. There are earlier posts in this thread that said both flavors are delicious, so I may try the vanilla next time!!

Did you get the rice, or the blend?

This sounds funny coming from a vegan, but I think soy is so so bad!!

I love this stuff bc it is almost a creamy moist powder that just blends beautifully with no grit.

My fave shake is unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop SW, 1/2tbsp raw cacao, 2 tbs chia seeds, vanilla extract, stevia, and ice.

I also blend it into my fruit and greens smoothies and it gives it great thickness. Yay!

I like Isopure Zero Carb. The dose is 2 scoops, but I use 1. Don't really notice a problem with half the flavor, but mixed with water it's a bit thin. Still tasty. Also pricey.

I haven't found it to be gritty at all, unless you order cookies & cream.
