500
I know this has probably been asked many times.. but I will make it one more.
For those who have been on JUDDD for awhile has anyone just kept their DD at 500 and not changed it and continued to lose? Thanks in advance for your insight. |

Yep. Sometimes they are around 450, but 500 is my goal in wlm. I was doing 800-900 in maintenance and still managed to lose a pound somehow.

that is good to find out, Thanks!
I am having a really hard time with 405 and was wondering about keeping it at 500 and see if I can keep losing. I guess it is just a try and see if not can do lower. That is the beauty I have found with JUDDD |

I range between 100 and 600. 500 is about average. If/when my weight loss stalls, I will formally adjust DD calories down. But for now I enjoy the freedom.

I'm adjusting mine down to 380 but it may take awhile to see if it has an effect as this is the time in my cycle where I typically gain water weight. So we shall see...

Keep in mind that the lowest DD numbers are for 20% of your UD number. Dr. Johnson's calculator allows you to figure up to 35% of your UD number, and says it will still be "weight loss" mode. The more drastic difference between DD and UD calories may let you lose a bit faster, but in the grand scheme of things it may be better to allow yourself to succeed and go more slowly (at 500 calories on DDs) than to struggle to reach a low that you're not comfortable with and then throw up your hands in surrender.
I aim for 500 on my DDs. I allow myself up to 700 if I have a particularly hungry DD. The 20% figure for me is 438, and 35% is 778, so anywhere between them is still considered "weight loss mode" for me. And from looking at the calculator, even 40% and 45% can be weight loss mode for some people (maintenance for others). I also found that 500 became easier and easier over time. I don't even blink at it most DDs anymore.

FYI....I actually calculated my DD when I started at a number between 40% and 45% on the JUDDD calculator because I only needed to lose about 6 pounds. Well, those calorie numbers made those 6 pounds turn into 16 pounds lost and 11 pounds passed my goal weight!!
