JUDD-ing husband wants only 2 DD's per week
After 3 weeks of Mon, Wed, Fri Dd's, my husband lost almost 9 pounds. I urged him to try this WOE to see if it could normalize his high BP. Two weeks into it his BP was fantastic.
All of this has happened pretty fast. He doesn't want to lose any more weight this quickly as he only had about 12 pounds that hadn't budged on low carb. I know going to 2 days is not normal Judd mantainence protocol but he would rather do that than worry about upping numbers more days per week. After reading dr J's book, I think the SIRT1 enzyme will still have a good chance to remain elevated as he mentions it takes several days for it to decline after a good DD. I'll let you all know what transpires with this. If he maintains, gains or even loses more slowly. He will still be low carbing the other days with only 1 or 2 cheat meals per week. I think that has been helping. |

From my reading, sirtuin enzymes kick in when the body's energy stores drop below a trigger level. I agree with you he is still going to get them. Time will tell whether he gets enough to keep health improving (I am betting he does, just more slowly).
Sounds like a much better plan than just giving up on JUDDD completely. |

What nice news regarding his w. loss & bp!
I think any fasting/calorie restriction done regularly keeps the SIRT activated. For example, there is another plan called ESE (Eat Stop Eat); it's 2 24-hr fasts per week. |

He is doing great! Good for you for making this happen for/with him.
My DH is down close to 21 pounds now and almost 3 inches gone from his waist. He likes the GI plan so that's what he is following, with my help. Although I try to cook in such a way that he still gets much lower calorie intake every other day. He just doesn't know he is JUDDing. It's "stealth JUDD" ![]() |

Sounds like he's doing great. Will be interested to hear how the 2 dd's works for him.
YY--LOL at stealth JUDDD. Guess that eliminates any placebo effect anyway. |

Thanks so much buds! You are all so encouraging.
Judd surprised us both by the sheer speed of weightloss in my husband's case. I think the enzyme is still going strong in him if I go by clues. I sent him a huge salad for lunch plus a gluc pudding for his dd at work today. He said he got so full he couldn't finish everything. I used 1 large romaine heart, 2 oz Tyson grilled and ready lean steak strips, a little onion, green pepper and 1/3 cup low fat cottage cheese with 20 sprays of wishbone ranch for another 30 cals. His gluc pudding was about 50 cals so I think that all still came in under 300 cals to keep a big guy feeling very full all day. |

Will be very interested in how this pans out. My dh just started JUDDD, 2 weeks ago come Wednesday. He lost 4 point something pounds the first week and I can see the diff. in his waist already. Waiting until the 2 week mark to actually measure. At this rate he'll be at goal in no time (only wanted to lose 15 lbs). Once he gets there I was thinking that we could have 3 DDs each week, 3 UDs, and 1 MD so every day could be the same.
