A bit of Day One for me too. I had a week of eating too much every day but amazingly only went up to 126.6, my goal weight is 126, so I was very happy. Day before yesterday I was 124.8.

Today was my first real DD and I got to 438 calories. Not at all difficult.

At least I can buy Shirataki Noodles in the supermarket!
Really? Hello from Melbourne. Coles or Woolworths? I never heard of them till i came to this forum.

So sorry Mitsa, only just seen this!! - I'll pm you too!!!

Both have them. They're in the Asian aisle - Changs Super Lo-Cal Noodles - they're not in the fresh cabinet.

Hi Jacci I keep trying to resurrect this thread but not many pop in, it is nice to talk in stones sometimes. Which reminds me...well done on losing the first stone!

Well, Jacci, you can't be perfect. But I love that we have turned Dawn into a marmite lover.

This vile weather has really made me miserable. I love the sunny Autumn days but this mist and rain doesn't seem "full of mellow fruitfulness".

I had planned not to eat until this evening at the party I've got to go to, but I came back from the gym, did some ironing and then caved in and finished off some cold roast Mediterranean veggies, which included quite a few olives. Oh well.

I dont like olives either...oops!! Im hating the weather too...its just miserable isnt it. We are off to Fuerteventura late Nov, we go there a lot, and I cannot wait to feel some sun on my old bones. Which will obviously be less packaged by fat than they were when we went in July!! x

Mmmm, marmite. Is there a trick to keeping the lid from getting glued shut with all the savory goodness? I try to keep it clean, but the last few times I've used it, I had to run it under hot water to get the darned cap off!

No, the stickiness is endemic I fear. A licked finger around the edge has been known in my home...but don't tell the family.

Oh some warm sunshine would be lovely.

I live in the UK and I'm glad I found this topic. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who finds it difficult to find the products that the people in the USA talk about, specially because I've only been living here for 2 years.
Maybe we could make a list of where to find some things that the americans talk about in the forum? Any ideas?

Finding certain foods is one issue, but my biggest issue is getting hold of some of the US supplements, if you can get them at all, they are ridiculously expensive

Exactly. I was looking for bio apple vinegar (the one with the mother in) in the UK and I couldn't find it. Only the imported one from the US but the price was unbelievable.
I also had to dig to find shiritaki noodles online. Not only the noodles are expensive but the delivery charges are very expensive as well. I bought 10 packages to make it worth buying. I had to hope that I could eat them as so many people on this forum didn't like the texture. I found them OK, but I'm not fussy with food, which is an advantage.
Maybe we should exchange our experiences with buying groceries and supplements so it's easier for us to shop around?
I'll start. This is where I bought the shiritaki noodles from:
Wing Yip Store

This is probably really old news, but some of the Sainsbury's have started selling cartons of egg whites (near the butter).

I've found that the privately owned health food stores often have a greater variety of hard-to-find or imported foods (compared to, say, H & B)

Amazon/ebay can be good places to buy things too.

I'm playing around with cortisol control at the moment, and although there are food choices which help, the right supplements are the way to go. Our US counterparts are paying 1/2 what we are, and they won't ship to UK.

I'm finding it extremely useful to reduce Visceral fat, which inturn reduces imflammation in the body, which inturn soothes 25 years of contact sport' effect on my body.

Hvrijssa, yes we don't see much of the sugar free syrups and tasty coffee , lots of different flavours of low fat cheese etc.

I am in London and I can get the Shiritake locally from a small Japanese store, and Wing Yip is only a few minutes away. The Japanese store also sells the block of Gluc but I am not very fond of it.

I have found unsweetened Almond milk in one of the big chains, sorry, can't remember which. And I did buy some the egg white in a tetrapack some time back.

I am afraid I have never really got saving the calories in an egg yolk, to me it is the whole point of the thing.

If anyone is interested I use the Bovril Granules sold at the Pound Store in packs of 8 or 10. They are only 10 class for a mugful, much less that a tsp of Bovril strangely.

After JUDDDing for around a year now I find I don't miss most of the products they mention in the US. I enjoy shredded cabbage as a base just as much as the Shiritake.

As for the supplements, that is another issue, I agree Kettleboy. I did send for one thing from the states but the postage is silly.

I just wanted to say I am delighted you seem to have found your maintenance numbers now. And that the Diatomaceous Earth is suiting you so well. I am another convert.

Sorry, Cindy, just saw your reply today.

Unfortunately I live far from London (I live in Devizes) and we don't have chinese or japanese shops around here (I still need to look around in Swindon, where I work, there could be one there).

I like the idea of the Bovril granules! I sometimes drink some Bovril before dinner to keep me going as I tend to be very hungry by then as I don't eat anything during the day on my DDs.
